Hi All, Printed a night trooper which means the cracks on the helmet need painting gold. Can anyone advise as to the best way to do this. e.g. Do I paint the whole helmet white and then mask that off to do the gold or vice-a-versa?

My concern is that the cracks are really really thin at the end of the line and any masking would be "Impossible" on those parts.

Thanks for any help
Josh

If it were me, I would paint it all white then use sharpies/paint pens/small thin brushes for the cracks. The details will be easier to paint by hand as masking off the tiny details will take a while.
The alternative would be to paint the gold in the cracks, or the whole helmet and then use some liquid latex or similar to mask the cracks before spraying the whole helmet white.

Hi. Finally finished ( got distracted with building a flight sim cockpit). In the end I went for the white first and then used the product at the link to mask off the white. I also used the liquid latex to protect the white areas on the edges of the masking. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B2D8JXNY?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1. Here are a couple of photos
