Asking for friend. He’s wondering A) why this happened, and B) how to fit it. I asked if he used the printer without the silicone sock on and he said yes for one print while he was “cleaning it”.

First, tell your friend to use the silicon cup because it can cause heat damage. Second, i dont understand if that's thermal paste or molten filament. If it is the first, then dont worry, just clean it snd you're good, it's something that can happen. If that's plastic tell your friend to heat it up to 170-180 degrees and gently scrape it off with something that cannot scratch it

#

Next you wanna heat it up to 230 degrees and get off the nozzle, then put it back in (while still being at 230 degrees) and tighten it up, not too much cause you'll risk to break the thermistor, hold the thermistor with pair of tongs while removing and reinstalling the nozzle

#

Then cool evrything and the nozzle will stick good

#

If it's plastic it means that the nozzle wanst tightened up right and there was a loss
