So. Sorry in advance, looked through so many of the helps for an answer but any that were similar have been closed without solutions I can view.

Specs:
Anycubic Kobra neo 2.0
Silk filament
Bed at 57-65 doesn't effect
Nozzle: at 190-215 doesn't effect
Speed: 50-120mms doesn't effect
Slicer: Anycubic
Perimeter: first or last no change
Seams: nearest and tried random

So I was trying to solve a zit problem and also a stringing issue, running at 50mms helped substantially, but I get these weird growths between supports or any other separate build part. I assume it has to do with retraction distance or retract speed. I'm limited on what factors I can adjust in the anycubic slicer. I've tried cura but it doesn't like to turn my fan on for cooling so I gave up on cura. Any ideas as to what parameters I can adjust to eliminate this defect? Note: It's a silk issue. Using regular or glow filament I don't have the problem. Thanks in advance for you help.

Use Cura. The cooling fan will not and should not be on at the start.
You need to bake or dry your filament.
Once you dry it to a proper retraction test.

No I agree, but it didn't kick on after the first layer either which was odd. Wish cura had a profile for my printer. I even made sure check that a fan was present and that I had cooling on. A hot box is next on my list of purchases.

#

I'll have to try cura again. Going to make a small model that will help me quickly test and retest parameters till i can identify which one has an effect on my issue.

#

Was hoping it was a common problem with silks that newer people have when entering the hobby.

Thanks for your help! Time to shop for a dryer.

Also. I let the print fully run to see if running slow solved the zit problem. The fan did not kick on for the entire print. I must have made it sound like I canceled the print when I noticed the lack of fan.

I'll check them out. Thanks

Speed 50mms, Nozzle 205, bed 60. The fan on the print head/extruder didn't turn on at any point.

#

My printer isn't a preset in cura, so that might have something to do with it.

Check cooling settings? What printer? Also please get a dryer for silk.

I'll give them another check. It's the anycubic kobra neo 2. Dryer is on order.

Anycubic's slicer is where I'm having my main issue. The cura slicer didn't communicate with my cooling fan.

See if you can find a machine profile online.

Ok

clear iris

Yeah no luck on a profile for the neo 2. I'll just stick with the anycubic slicer. I dont trust cura to turn on my fan.

#

going to stop printing til the dryer comes in and return with my findings. if the dryer doesnt solve the problem, ill just mess with retract distance and speed until i find the right numbers.

Ill see if I have any luck.

i found a profile digging through anycubic's website, had to download a rar program to uncompress since they didnt use zip, but i was able to get a profile built in cura for the kobra 2 neo. one thing i did notice is that according the instructions it didnt mention anything about adding a value of 1 for the fan. That might have been where i went wrong on my first go of modifying one of the other profiles.

#

ill do a test print using this new profile and see if it will activate the fan when needed unlike the last time.

#

I put 1 in there on my first go around

Hmm odd. Ok try 0 my bad

clear iris
#

It's all good, you didn't know

#

Setting it to 0 allowed the fan to work. So I think I'm good with cura now. Thanks for your help with that. Now I can start making adjustments to help with quality

#

See if I can improve it some before I get the dryer.

Update: Since the dryer and some tinkering with calibrations and speed/temp/retract settings I was able to get the stringing under control. Thank you all for your help on this. Ultimately i think im expecting too much out of the Kobra 2 Neo. So i will continue to make adjustments to help fine tune as best i can. Ill try not to create too many of these threads. Wish i could contribute to helping the community rather than just taking from it. Wouldnt want to spread misinformation due to a lack of experience.

wipe settings have been on. believe it was a combo of humidity and retraction.
