I have a friend who wants me to print a shell for his game cube and if possible he wants it to be able to game with it. Is there any plastics that can hold up to the heat of a running console or would it have to be a display piece only?

Not really

Only if you aren't careful with your settings.

I used Amazon Basics and Hatchbox Black petg at 220C on the nozzle, 70C on the bed, and only printed on painter's tape to keep the plastic from permanently bonding to the glass.
