Hm. You are still using Cura, right? Why not give Orca a spin. It might be able to give you a better print outcome. Also, why combine the ear and the jaw if they separate on an existing seam? It might be easier to just glue them together after you print them, rather than stressing about a larger more complex print.
i just haven't tried orca yet
what about the chin
If he already has a decent print profile in cura then that means playing around with a new slicer first to form a print profile that works if the default doesn't do him well at first. While I agree orca is nice but it's just work he may not wanna spend right now
True.
I don't mean to push, but Orca does tend to give better support generation and wall quality, which are points specifically relevant to detailed Iron Man helmets. It can be done in Cura, though.
I did my first pieces completely in Cura.
I've only used Orca for a couple of weeks now.
i dont care about the silcer i just want to know if i should combine the jew and chin rn ill test orca when i can find it
As for combining the pieces some modelers just give those pieces as a single piece straight out. So there's no downside really to printing as one piece
The modeler probably split those pieces up to make it possible to print on a smaller printer
I might say you could try the chin... I wish I had, because on my MK30/33, there isn't really any sort of locking plate. Maybe use an external program, something simple like TinkerCAD or Microsoft 3D Builder, to add another plate in between the two before you merge them. This could help insure the integrity of the mesh so the part doesn't print with a microscopic gap.
Here's Orca's page, to save you some looking: https://github.com/SoftFever/OrcaSlicer/releases
Dont combine. Print seperately
ok
Also if you combine think it be hard to get your head in since bottom hole is small I believe
