✅ - First Helmet finishing, first post

Hey guys, I'm pretty new here. I printed off a magneto helmet in 2 piece's, (top/bottom) I then glued them together and I noticed that where I glued it together It's starting to come apart a little. Does anyone have any crafty tricks or tips to help me hide/fix the crack?

I already put 2 coats of primer and a bunch of Bondo on the helmet and I'm really hoping that I don't have to tear it apart.

Please provide as much information (images, video, description) as you can. This will increase the chance that someone can help you with your issue.

Try some watered down wood filler or bondo mixed with acetone and paint it on, let them dry and then you should be able to sand it and hide the gap. Or alternatively just add some superglue to the gap and add some baking soda and it should set pretty much instantly and fill the gap.

I've never thought of baking soda, also the watered down wood filler isnt a bad idea. I've never tried any of these tactics yet. I'll have to pick one and try it. thank you

Next time look up pla welding as IMO its better me stronger that gluing it

I played around with pla welding and did not like the results I got. I still need to work on it

Work on it, I found once you get it no more gluing. My technique is to tape the raw print together on the outside, then solder iron just cross the tip over the two pieces then I do the same diagonally, then when try and flatten and fill with old filament. But if gluing works for you, stick to it, no right or wrong way to do it as long as it works for you.

I normally weld the inside a lot to make the connection strong, then lightly go over the outside to smooth it. Works pretty well for me. As for how strong it is, the print will come apart between layers before the weld fails
