It will have a little texture to it but nothing much, could be you sprayed a heavy coat of primer, I would just give it a sand get it smoother and then see.
Thank you. It does have a texture. I guess I was expecting something more paint like meaning very smooth
Yeah it should be like paint, it’s only a very light texture, it could be the way you sprayed it or even a little dust in it, but definitely fixable with sanding and another primer coat
@sour geyser I forgot to ask (sorry new) so I wet sanded my pieces and am about to spray my final primer coat before paint…1. Is a filler primer ok to paint over and 2. Do I have to sand the final primer coat or leave it so the paint can adhere?
No worries.
Yes filler primer is fine to paint over, and I don’t normally sand my final layer of primer, but you can, but nothing higher than 400 grit.
Thank you!! I appreciate all your help. Been working on a life sized Boba Fett. Thing is over 6 feet tall. I’ve been sanding and filling for months. Lol. Almost ready for paint and I don’t want to sand anymore. Lol
Wow, be great to see it when it’s done, you making it as a prop or cosplaying?
I have a Boba helmet to finish
@sour geyser just a prop. I wanted a big project and I def got one. Just ordering paint this week. Hopefully done by next month. If all goes well. I’ll post pics
@sour geyser lol. Sorry another question. I primed two big parts today with filler primer that I had left over. This was supposed to be the final. 98% is awesome but there are still a few spots that need to be filled and two runs. Would I have to sand the entire thing and reprise after sanding the spots or just reprint the sanded areas?
Just sand the spots that need and then spray again. The is exactly what you need to do, sand and then primer to show bits you missed sanding, as you can see with naked eye, then sand and primer again and repeat until smooth.
@sour geyser ok. Thanks again. Thought it was ready. Keep seeing little spots that are driving me crazy. Lol
