Hello. I recently had to replace my sprite extruder pro after a really bad failed print. The replacement I bought was just the normal sprite extruder and with a little bit of finessing, I got the control board off of the pro and on to the replacement. My problem now is that the print results are very stringy. The box didn't come with instructions and I struggle to find a video detailing how to change the printer settings for this new sprite extruder. I leveled my bed and adjusted my cura settings according to videos detailing advice on how to lessen the amount of stringing, but the results are all the same. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Im curious about how a failed print caused a ruined extruder but as it is on your problem, I would pay attention to retraction, retraction speed, and Minimum extrusion distance. The picture just looks like your Retraction isn't tuned well enough. for my sprite extruder I do 50mm/s with a retraction distance of 1mm and a Minimum extrusion distance of 2mm. I would start somewhere around these numbers and just mess with it. Another possible solution is temps and cooling. you may be printing a little to hot. I dont think that is the hole issue though. I believe it is just your retraction settings being a little messed up.
I just started to have a stringing problem myself with my KP5L.
Not as bad as this, but it was getting there.
You’re issue looks like a retraction problem.
I’m currently working on my issue.
My retraction was fine.
What I did, as I added a sponge filter with a very light dab of Olive oil, And it cured 90% of it.
I had recently added a new nozzle, attempt to fix a layering issue.
This may have contributed to the problem, or might not be related.
Any case I’m going to double check my extruder gear and clean it
make sure my nozzles fully tight.
And I’m gonna remove the race tube between my run out sensor and my extruder see if that is what’s causing the issue for me.
I hope this helps you troubleshoot your problem.
Thank you so much for your help! And to answer your question, about the previous extruder, it was a direct drive just like this. The hot end got caught on the print and got clogged. here's a picture.
Have all the wires been plugged back in firmly. Is the cooling fan working?
That’s not ruined. You could either heat it up to like 260 and wipe it off with a rag. Or you could take it apart and soak it in acetone for a few days. I recommend the first one.
