The best and strongest method would be to plastic weld the parts together. You can try super glues but they still won't be as strong as welding the pieces
oh yeah of course, this project is small enough for me to do that, but when i do the jawblade greatsword/rathalos armor, glue/adhesive will be needed.
this is also information gathering for me. i wouldn't want to use a glue/adhesive that would eat away at the plastic
The sword hilt you pictured can definitely be welded. There is no details or anything preventing it. I agree with the monster hunter props and armor you will have issues welding, but definitely weld as much as you can even with those to provide strength.
As for what glues, I myself haven't really used glue to permanently bond parts. super glue can sometimes work but sometimes fail. I think some people like to use 3D Gloop so maybe look up some stuff about that. It is for 3d prints obviously hence the name. Im not sure how strong of a bond it makes but its worth looking up info about. Also, I know there are people in the server that use 3d gloop, not sure if it's for full on props and armor, but maybe someone who has used it will comment.
I saw forgot what YouTuber uses two part epoxy to joint things together
