#ender 5 plus print nozzle blocking

I swapped out the 0.4 nozzle to the 0.6 nozzle now I get what I think is heat creep. Supports are barely extruding out of the nozzle and when the part being printed is being extruded the filament putters out of the nozzle for a little bit for about 30 or so layers then fully blocks.
I have made sure the nozzle is tightened correctly, the bowden tube is cut squarely and is flush with the top of the nozzle, there is no excess filament melted inside the hot end and finally cura profile is using the 0.6 nozzle profile.
I did run a temp tower for PLA and PETG so I have those dialed in I believe.

Currently doing speed at 60, tried slowing down last night and it made it worse, trying to speed it up as it might be heat creep???
Recommendations on how to proceed - thanks in advance!!

You need to recalibrate when you cha get your nozzle size. I would start with esteps and go from there

So I calibrated the e-steps finally and I still have the issue where it gets the filament is not extruding properly

#

When it is laying down the supports it is taking a bit to push the filament through the nozzle. Then the nozzle is clogging.
When I did the e-steps calibration it was slightly out and corrected

#

Desperately need some.guidance as this problem on started after numerous successful prints

Flow Rate perhaps?

#

i havent used different nozzle sizes all that much but i imagine changing a nozzle would also affect flow rate but i might get a 2nd opinion on that

mossy otter

Well I changed the nozzle sizes in cura to 0.6mm got two successful prints now this issue. I swapped back to 0.4mm nozzle and exactly the same issue

Is your nozzle size in cura still .6 when printing with the .4?

mossy otter
#

What i don't understand is the raft prints perfectly, then starts to clog

#

No I made sure the nozzle profile was changed back, first thing I checked

#

is your fan working? and have you altered the mainboard at all?

mossy otter
#

Printer is stock, the only thing I changed was the bowden tube to Capricorn blue tube, but that was ages ago

#

Fan is working, printer is only two months old

#

Is your filament moist?

mossy otter
#

Brand new filament, multiple roles and manufactures opened because I thought that too

#

Man resin printing is so much easier lol

hazy grove
#

well judging from the picture you're experiencing stringing and over extrusion?

#

and trust me it gets easier

#

Have you done a stringing/retraction test?

mossy otter
#

Nope, tbh new to fdm printing and there is so many tests/calibrations

hazy grove
#

well yeah but trust me you'll thank yourself later

#

Also with moisture understand that PLA at least in my experience can get moist absurdly fast

#

and i live in rural australia which is as dry as a bone

mossy otter
#

Im also in Australia lol

hazy grove
#

oh lol

#

For filament drying i bought a food dehydrator on amazon, (because i would never recommend putting your filament in the oven lol)

mossy otter
#

Right to plan of attack is retraction/stringing test

#

Now to figure out how to do that lol

hazy grove
#

if you use cura

#

in the main window go up to marketplace and download the calibration shapes plug in

#

you'll have to restart cura to make it work

#

then once that happens you can add a retract tower through the extensions tab

#

then i'd just go on youtube

cheers

#

will attempt some now
