So I’m pretty new to this. Came home to find my printer printing about 2 inches above and nothing coming out. So I’m assuming clogged nozzle. But then I also notice a pile of plastic crumbs there at the extruder. Not really sure what that’s all about. Any ideas? Also any tips on best way to correct this?

It's possible that your filament's diameter is beyond the tolerance your printer is capable of handling, at least at one section, so if it's marked as the right filament diameter for your machine then it could just be that you just got a bad roll of filament. Take apart your extruder if you can, check your bowden tube for damage since it looks like you have one, check for debris jamming your gears, check your nozzle for clogs, etc.

did your first part of your print come out without any issues at all?

Could be tension needs to be looser on your extruder

#

Could also just be grinding on the extruder because of a clog

the tension was a bit tight and i did have a clog. rehoming now to see if i got it all good to go

yep its printing good now. i think what happened was the tension belt was a lil to tight and i was also working at a lil higher nozzle temperature then i have in the past. i think that might have contributed to the clog as well.
