top left is peeling

#

just a warp

You could let it keep going and it might recover itself, a few of mine have but if your only an hour into a 3 day print, I would recommend restarting it, I’ve had a couple of prints where this has happened and they’ve failed quite far in

Check your temps, levels and restart it. Better than wasting that much time and filament if it fails later on

upper sundial
#

k

#

i checked leveling it's fine

#

temps are the same i always use

#

im gonna leave this open for a bit incase it does it again

lucid trout
#

What are your temps and what material are you using?

upper sundial
#

PLA

#

bed temp at 50

#

nozzle at 200

#

never had a prob with temp before

lucid trout
#

I normally use 60 for my bed, as recommended by cura, you could try that and see if it makes a difference

#

Nozzle temp is the same as mine though

upper sundial
#

idk why but whenever i level

#

the middle seems fine

#

but it is less

#

like

#

thinner lines

mint canyon
#

3 days seems high

upper sundial
#

its about 450 grams

#

i think its at 60mm/s

mint canyon
#

Yeah thats long

upper sundial
#

quality 0.16

#

i want it as smooth as possible

mint canyon
#

Support density?

upper sundial
#

i just did this

mint canyon
#

Might need to open all the settings up… i use about 1% infill on support… cuts time and material. Could get away with a higher overhang as well. At least 60°

lucid trout
#

Agreed, I’ve even used 65 support angle on some of mine, support density for mine is usually about 5%

upper sundial
#

what do i do for it

#

lines?

#

zig zag?

lucid trout
#

I’ve had a lot of success with gyroid, seems to cut time too

#

What infill are you using for the model itself?

#

Type and %

upper sundial
#

20 grid

lucid trout
#

Try gyroid and 10

#

Then check the time again

upper sundial
#

bruh

#

..

#

im a moron

#

i had it with no infil before

#

ok

#

with 10% infil gyroid

#

and 1% on supports

#

its agt

#

its a jumbo pupper

#

dont ask

#

lol

lucid trout
#

Try a support angle of 65

#

And up the speed to 70mm/s

#

That’s a lot of filament, what size are you printing at?

upper sundial
#

big

#

im gonna see how large it is at 35%

lucid trout
#

That’s pretty big, try the support angle at 65, speed 80 and infill 5

upper sundial
#

30% scale

#

70 mm/s

#

1% supports

#

10% infil

lucid trout
#

Much better

upper sundial
#

overhang 65

lucid trout
#

Much better for printing now, 4 days for a print is rough, though I’ve had to do them before

upper sundial
#

i did also have a few questions about large scale props

#

is there an alternative way of fusing them other than welding

#

every time i weld i looks horrible

#

is there like PLA glue or something

#

i want it to hod up but i mess up welding evry time

#

i have a soldering iron with a knife ish tip

#

and it never works out :(

#

uhhh

lucid trout
#

I’ve not found a better way yet, I normally use some spare filament like solder to fill in the holes and smooth it out,
Though I suppose you could try gorilla glue, I’ve used that to stick PLA together before

upper sundial
#

my mprinter just stopped

#

it like

#

froze

#

the steppers were disabled

#

and my screen wont respond

lucid trout
#

I’ve never experienced that before

upper sundial
#

wtf

#

iturned it back on and it works

#

maybe like

#

a mini power surge

lucid trout
#

Possibly

upper sundial
#

it prob just failed and recovered before turning off

#

wierd

upper sundial
#

for like a sword

#

gorilla glue

#

It keeps doing it now

lucid trout
#

I haven’t tested it on any bigger props, but it might hold well enough,
I’m not sure what is happening with your printer, have you tried cutting power completely, and restarting it?

upper sundial
#

Yea

#

It just freezes

lucid trout
#

Odd, how are you sending prints to it? Are you using usb or SD card?

upper sundial
#

SD

#

I’ve always used SD

#

I literally printed something perfectly yesterday

lucid trout
#

That’s strange, I’ve never encountered an issue like that, have you tried a different file?

upper sundial
#

Idk man

#

It’s the same file as the one that curled up

#

It was printing fine

#

Just the warp was the issue

lucid trout
#

Try another print that has run successfully before, it could be a bugged file
