Make sure you ping the bot, not the role of the bot (see gif).

This can sometimes happen when you copy paste commands.

How do i make sure i ping the bot or the role?

Tap the ping, if the bot profile doesnt show up, that means you pinged the role.

For a permanent solution, rename the bot's assigned role to something else if you have the permission.

The way reindexing works, it's not really possible to lose pokemon. Worst case scenario is some messed up numbers which can be fixed by reindexing again

How do pokemon spawn?

24 Valid Messages in the entire server are required to spawn 1 pokemon.

Valid Message Definition

1. is 1.5 seconds apart for each user.
2. is 1 second apart for the entire server.
3. is not a Poketwo Bot Command.
4. is not a message from a Bot.

Incense and Redeem are other methods to spawn Pokémon.
Check ?tag incense? and ?tag redeem? for more information respectively.

If pokemon do not spawn

1 Make sure the bot has the following permissions:

View Channel, Read Message History, Send Messages

2 Kick and reinvite the bot might be able to get the bot to function.
If the bot does not send the welcome message after reinviting, the bot may be in an outage.

If you find the image does not match pokemon name this is likely due to a lag spike causing an image to spawn while the bot did not receive the pokemon to send. Here are a few things you can do:

1. Make sure you're spelling the name correctly
2. Do @Pokétwo#8236 hint and try to figure out the pokemon based on the hint
3. Send the hint to #whos-that-pokémon to see if someone else knows the pokemon
   While these can help you catch the pokemon in the hint you can not catch the pokemon in the image if you notice the hint doesn't match

If you find the image does not match pokemon name this is likely due to a lag spike causing an image to spawn while the bot did not receive the pokemon to send. Here are a few things you can do:

1. Make sure you're spelling the name correctly
2. Do @Pokétwo#8236 hint and try to figure out the pokemon based on the hint
3. Send the hint to #whos-that-pokémon to see if someone else knows the pokemon
   While these can help you catch the pokemon in the hint you can not catch the pokemon in the image if you notice the hint doesn't match

I've investigated the issue and have found that the situation is a little complicated. There is an auction bug, where if 2 bids are made at the same exact time, one of the bidders will not receive their bid back. And at the same time the bidder before these double bids will receive their pc back twice.

I've looked into the shiny lugia auction and this bug occurred three times in that auction.

1. First occurrence

<see 1st image>. Here, you can see that these bids went through at the exact same time. I've labelled the bid order to illustrate

• Here, @grave willow was the bidder out of the double bids who did not receive their bid back after being outbid. I refunded them the amount that they lost, 4,400,000pc.
• And the bid prior to that (<#bot-auctions message>), @uncut ermine's (your) bid, is the one that received the bid back two times. I deducted the extra amount that you were given, 4,310,001pc

2. Second occurrence

<see 2nd image>. Here, you can again see that these bids went through at the exact same time.

• Here, @uncut ermine (you) were the bidder out of the double bids who did not receive their bid back after being outbid. I refunded you the amount that you lost, 4,510,001pc.
• And the bid prior to that (<#bot-auctions message>), @grave willow's bid, is the one that was returned twice. I deducted the extra amount that they were given, 4,400,009pc

3. Third occurrence

<see 3rd image>. Here, again, these bids went through at the exact same time.

• Here, @void tusk was the bidder out of the double bids who did not receive their bid back after being outbid. I refunded you the amount that you lost, 5,100,002pc.
• And the bid prior to that (<#bot-auctions message>), @uncut ermine's (your) bid, is the one that was returned twice. I deducted the extra amount that you were given, 5,010,001pc

Conclusion

Total pokecoins received by all users from this predicament before I intervened:

@grave willow: - 4,400,000 + 4,400,009 = + 9pc (extra)
@uncut ermine (you): 4,310,001 - 4,510,001 + 5,010,001 = + 4,810,001pc (extra!)
@void tusk: - 5,100,002pc (lost!)
I have fixed all these pc changes now

So basically, you actually received 4,810,001pc *extra * from this shiny lugia auction due to the bug. Your balance before the auction was 13,291,707pc. You won the lugia for 5,010,001pc. That would leave your balance at 8,281,706pc. Your actual balance that you've shown is a little more than that, so there were some other unrelated transactions probably inbetween these balance checks.
Bottom line is, you actually did not lose any pc at all. In fact, as I've illustrated above, you've actually gained some pokecoins due to the bug, which I've now deducted from your balance.
