Hey guys,

I've been producing music for around 3 years now and have been DJing for around 2, I'm also studying Music Technology at University to help strengthen this option as a career.

This is the first time I've tried to create a remix of a popular song so not really used to incorporating heavy vocals but thought I'd give it a shot.

So far I've just made an intro, build up and drop, going to start creating a breakdown and second section soon however.

I'm planning to play it out at a club this Saturday but just looking to receive some feedback for some changes before I play it out to the crowd.

Mainly looking for feedback on:

  • Is the interest kept during/after the drop?
  • Do the two vocals I have match?
  • Do the sounds all cooperate with the vocals?

Thanks!

lots of influences in here mate, you gotta like a latin percussion beats going on first and they dont match the tune, too playful imo.
Youve faded in the synth riff and for a radio edit like this it needs to come in either from the start or after a few bars - little 1 or half bar drop - then bring it in so that it makes a difference. you follow me?
The vocal is out of place at times as well, it sounds like an acca dropped over an instrumental. i would do more with it.
No the 2 vocals dont work sorry, take the female out, it adds nothing to the tune. stick to the main vocal.
The bassline is ok but needs more beef (and the same for kick). For me that top riff doesnt work with the tune - the preset you used is too harsh.

it just needs more production and some changes.

I hope that helps, youve chosen a huge vocal for this tune, maybe the wrong one. everyone knows the OG was a huge UKG tune.

Where are you doing Music Tech? i did a degree in it at Univeristy of Glamorgan. 👍
