Tech House Banger? Which label does it remind you of?

Hey fam, I'm close to wrapping up this track and would love your thoughts! I'm specifically looking for feedback on:

1. The mixdown: does it sound balanced? Too much high end? Not enough bass? Clap sticking out? Stuff like that...
2. The breakdown: my girlfriend says it needs some kind of bass during breakdown. I disagree. What do you think?
3. The backup vocal panning: yay or nay?

If anything sounds super out of place or I'm missing something glaring, let me know! I love constructive feedback.

hey bro, feel like it needs a bigger kick because the current one isnt punching through enough and the bass and kick need to work with eachother because rn the kick feels really soft but would be sm better if it was alot punchier cos then they could work together, the breakdown sounds good, feel like that bongo fill thing idk is a bit too loud maybe lower it a bit, after that fill u could add some sidechain white noise aswell as that downlifter just to fill out the mix a little bit more and make it feel more like a drop, not sure about that "dance" before the drop feel like the track is very dark but then theres like a fun house vocal idk if it suits maybe turn the pitch down a bit, love the lead, when it says "move ur, move ur" let it say feet on the 2nd time so "move ur, move ur feet", the drop needs some white noise sidechained in the background but cool track love what u did with the vocal bro

Great feedback! Thanks, my man. I see what you’re saying about the kick. I bet it’s because I used a super short sidechain, but I’ll try some other kicks too. Maybe James’ kick from Paint the Town Red would work there…

Made some changes. I'm gonna test it out tonight and tomorrow but I think it's almost ready to be sent off for mastering.

Things I've updated since uploading this version:

• Cut the vocal on the 1 beat of the breakdown
• Cleaned up the kick drums right before the drop

I used Take Off by Luca Debonaire and the Dave Winnel remix of Stranger Love by Pnau as reference tracks and it's pretty damn close. Need to compare the three using Span, but I'm pretty happy. Still welcoming feedback though!

wow kick is alot better, but why is it filtered on the first drop? would be alot better if u could hear the punch from the kick

I think so too... i would filter it before and remove the filter on the drop, but overall nice banger.

I wasn’t sure I liked that filter but now I’m sure I don’t lol… will remove and update with the final version here later today. 👍🏼🙏🏼
