@alpine lodge Short answer... no
You'll need specialist DMX-compatible lighting equipment for this, which often comes with a somewhat hefty price tag.
I'd recommend American DJ (ADJ) and/or Chauvet Lighting for this.
For decent quality ones, you'll be looking at a couple of hundred per fixture, but.
You can also get knock-off ones somewhat cheap.
the DMX decoder wouldn't work?
I suppose it depends if they're individually addressable RGB lights?
Most of those won't be, unless you're using LIFX or something.
pretty sure that dmx decoder is for ones that aren't individually addressable
which would probably be a bit boring
There's more than likely options for both on the market.
But it's a little jank.
The group-addressed ones would be easier to control for something like this, as you'd only need 4 channels, (red, blue, green, alpha - brightness)
Provided that DMX cable can hold 12V (usually) line which is probably where you'd encounter issues.
I'm not sure of any self-powered DMX stuff. And you certainly don't want to send 12V down the signal lines...
Well you can, but it'll almost certainly end in a bang.
thank you for your help guys and for the information
@uncut vector im searching for some kind of “light bars” i got an example wait
at 0:34 it starts
but this also looks like led stripes to me
these?
yes
i mean they obviously built all the “pyramid” things and then attached the lights on it
it'll probably be something like this https://www.chauvetdj.com/products/colorband-t3-bt/
COLORband T3BT is a full-size linear wash light with built-in Bluetooth® wireless technology. With the BTAir app (patent pending), COLORband T3BT can be controlled remotely from any smart phone or tablet without any additional hardware. Download BTAir for free from your favorite online app store. COLORband T3BT has 12 tri-colored (RGB) LEDs and ...
those are about £200
soo expensive 😭🤣
There's also cheaper ones like this but I can't comment on the quality of those https://www.amazon.co.uk/beamz-Black-Light-Ultraviolet-Lighting/dp/B07BQNM3KV/ref=sr_1_16?keywords=dmx+strip+light&qid=1704487904&sr=8-16

i found similiar ones for 60€
oh they are not available in my region, whats the price on these?
£100
and what do you dont like about the quality? its just for my room when im hosting raves for my friends 30-40 people
would it be enough for that?
I can't comment on the quality, as I have no experience with that brand or product
oh okey thank you very much for your help
but if i would get these then i could only connect 4 of them with those controller right?
see, this is another problem with random amazon products, they sometimes don't come with much documentation or manuals or anything, so you might be able to chain them, you might not
but with only one of those DMX decoders, you would only be able to have 4 I think
the eurolite controller has support for 24 fixtures
You might wanna look at WLED, opensource led controller based on esp32 chipsets. You can program the lights in advance or sound reactive. Check yt for some howtos. It is easy and cheap
THIS. You can do a lot with WLED. I've programmed a bunch of stuff for my home and Burning Man camp using that
It is sooo easy and cheap to work with wled, although issues still occur 🥵
