goto
File>library>back up library. save that file to a USB. when backing up dont back up the music files, click no as it will take 5 years to back up! just the backup zip is needed for now.
copy all your files to one folder on the USB.
On your Mac the drop the folder of files (tunes) to your Music section or wherever you want them to be located by RB. and also drop the backup file somewhere, i suggest using the same folder that RB sets up for backups. but if you cant find that then drop the file on your desktop so its easier to find,
On RB goto File>Library>Restore Library. Locate the backup file on your desktop, this will then import and restore your settings like cue's etc. but now you should see that the files have an "!" next to them.
Now goto your settings (its the cog when top right next to the My Page) click that then> Advanced (the 3 dots "..." and look at the screen grab> you then choose the path where you placed the folder of tunes. >> Auto Re-locate Search Folders
goto your Collection on RB and then hit Command-A to select all the files, right click anywhere in that pane (on the tunes) and hit Auto-relocate. This should then find all the tunes again provided you pointed RB to the exact folder location where you set this too>Auto Re-locate Search Folders.

The main thing is NOT to back up your music files at the start when you backup the library.

This YT video explains it but he goes so fast its crazy. and he backed up the music, which he does actually say not to do but he does it anyway!!

not sure about a network. sounds like pain that does. i would just copy and past them all to your mac for ease. but i dont see why not pointing to a drive would be a problem though. try it...as long as youve got them backed up you wont lose anything. same for the RB backup file. ive got no idea what the actual Export function does but i know that it doesnt work for what you want to do

#

that YT vid explains it but you need to stop it after every action because he flies thru it sooo fast!

no worries. the mac and pc backup is the same, so you dont need to convert or anything. tbh the first time i did the change i used Lexicon for the trial version and it worked a treat and also cleaned up my RB for duplicates etc. however it did create a shedfull of new genres which was a pain. i asked Phil from DDJT as well about transferring from mac to pc and vice versa, he confirmed that theres no issues. mine is fine put it that way. lmk how you got on.
