#Launching Issues.

is it opening then instantly closing or does it not open at all?
gonna immediately suggest closing everything else except what you use to open icarus and see if that works
use task manager, dont just outright close the program
If the game will just not launch, with no error message. The most commom culprit if on an Nvidia graphics card is to switch from the Game Ready Driver to the Studio Driver. Using the Nvidia app.
PC or Console?
For Console: #icarus-console & #icarus-console-bugs
For PC: Are you by any chance using an NVidia GPU?
If so, check to see if you're using the Studio drivers; if you're using the Game Ready drivers, switch to Studio drivers (Game Ready drivers seem to have issues lately)
Also, if you're using any mods (and that does include things like WeMod), remove all mods, do a Steam File verify and try again
Steam File verify is a good idea either way
If it still doesn't work, uninstall the game, make sure the steamapps\Icarus folder (or wherever you've installed the game) is empty and install the game again.
Sometimes there's files left behind after an uninstall (usually but not exclusively a result of using mods), which might cause the issue; if you don't remove those files, they'll continue causing issues after reinstalling the game - hence make sure the folder is empty after uninstall
It certainly did work to switch to Studio driver. however very inconvenient as I've never seen any other game have this issue. When might this be resolved...
thank you for help.
I have seen other people in other games having issues since this fix has been found for Icarus. Not sure how the fix has worked for them because they were on Steam Forums no one reports back there.
Not sure though this is something Game Devs can fix IF it is the GPU Drivers that are the issue which clearly that is the case.
Also what difference does it make, from what I read the Studio Drivers seem better anyhow. Studio will work for other games without issue. I am on that and been playing Ark.
Since this seems to be a driver issue, I'm not sure it's up to RW Devs to fix this.
I'd reckon this is on NVidia to fix...
My understanding is the Devs and NVIDIA can both fix the issue they just gotta find out what the issue is
Quick update, I attempted to play using studio drivers on Battlefield 6 and my computer blue screened. This has never happened to me ever.
Ah well not had any issues to date with other games. However I never speak in certain terms always just offer opinion never fact. Always room for me to be corrected, not every PC game is created equal either. I stopped playing AAA Games they do not offer enough hours for the money you pay. I have no interest in PVP, grown out of that.
yeah i was just letting you know the Studio driver is not made for all games. it doesnt handle newer games very well.
