i just bought the new expansion and for some reason i cannot craft any of the new items and it has me stuck since i cannot build a flare gun for the first mission

Are you running any mods (any mods at all, even if it's just a stacking mod; and yes, this include things like WeMod)?
Also, have you already tried a Steam file verification?

i think i might. would unstalling the mods help? also the points are naturally earned
