Tried everything: reinstalling it, verifying game files, using different video settings, updated both graphics and windows settings. The fact that i get no error message doesn't help either.

test suggestion - install unreal engine (development) and ensure you can run it, it may also give you crash logs that may be of more benefit
also a verification, this is classic windows, not some windows lite, or WINE environement in linux ?

Assuming the game has worked proper before (although you didn't mention this in your question; so, did it work before)?
After uninstalling, check the steamapps folder (Steam default installation location) to make sure the Icarus folder is gone.
If it's still there, delete it - it might have some 'alien' files in there, which stay behind, and might be the cause of the repeated crashes.
Do not touch the Icarus files in your userprofile!

It only worked once (i'm new to the game) and never again despite me not changing anything. Also when it did run it ran perfectly fine at 100 fps high settings.
I just tried your suggestions but it sadly still crashes when loading in.

okay so update; i just fixed the crashing issues in case it may help others in the future.
1-booted into safe mode (windows 11 btw)
2-ran DDU (clean and reboot)
3-rebooted into normal mode
4-installed the drivers again and now it doesn't crash
idk why it worked but it did, the drivers pre-DDU were the most recent

could be the new drivers, i've had updates that trashed my machine and had to roll back before
