I am very new to icarus, and ive seen online that other people have had this issue but i cant find a fix for it. Firstly, the menu says that "steam is running as a local pc administrator," even though its not. my performance is very poor except on the lowest graphical settings, whereas my friends are sitting at a steady 100+ frames even though my PC specs are much better than theirs. any advice would be appreciated!

Which operating system are you running?
windows 10
to put a comparison, i am able to run Rainbow Six at 2560x1440 150fps which should be more than enough
I get same error now, just reinstalled after uninstalling about a month ago. all my progress is now gone as well. Save files are still in my windows user folder though.
im checking too see if it was because of a driver's update
did you update your nvidia drivers recently?
sure, everytime an update comes out. Maybe once since i last had the game installed
Also just a black screen after Character select....
yeah i dont have it THAT bad yet but i just have terrible performance, i played for the first time the day i made this channel
I moved my game files to my C: drive and it fixed everything. game runs great now.
I had installed it to a different SSD i guess. Always run Icarus on C:.
NO WAY ME TOO LEMME TRY THAT
ok whats the easiest way to do that without reinstalling? do i just move it to the same folder?
yep thank you, you a real one
hmm, i still have the issue. preformance is way better though, just still not that great. I also still have the notification that steam is running as an admin
i think that the game is actually just too resource intensive. Nvidia wants me to run on 1080p instead of 1440p, and if i force it to do 1440p it wants me to run on the lowest settings
really sucks, because i know this game can be optimized better than that
especially in comparison to ARK or Call of Duty
I adjusted the LOD setting to 10 and had a change of 30 frames, and the game still looks alright so I am going to run with that
it's good enough ima roll with it
Great
I had this pop up suddenly. Went to my desktop shortcut and checked the properties - at some point 'Run as administrator' had gotten turned on - not sure how cause I didn't do it. Exited Steam, changed the shortcut, started Steam; fixed.
well, its not checked on for me
doesnt fix my issue, but it's still nice to know that I can do that!
