#Can't select anything...

I thought of that as well. I'm only running discord and Icarus. Is there perhap a setting somewhere I can ensure its my top layer
that would be something in the OS, usually. you don't have a GPU overlay, such as with NVIDIA Geforce?
hmm. i'm going to try a rester. brb
Hmm. Yeah so when i tab out and back in the screen blows up to where i can only see the top left corner (with the copy button) and my mouse works then. Also upon boot when the cinematic is playing and it says press any key to skip... my mouse works for that
so you're in full screen windowed?
er, borderless windowed I guess it is, vs full screen
yessir it launches in full
Curious... when i have something like that happen, its because of a resolution mismatch. Have you tried going into settings and changing the game resolution to the expected value? or just change it in general to something else, and see if that works. I had something similar to this and the click point was offset to the game cursor.. and so would present the same.
That sounds highly probable. There isn't a resolution choice in the steam settings where would I find that
It's in the game itself.
๐คฃ you mean the settings button I can't touch?
picky picky ๐ there's also a text file, one sec.
%localappdata%\icarus\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini
you'll see (further down):
ResolutionSizeX=3840 (or whatever)
ResolutionSizeY=2160 (or whatever)
You can (best option) delete the file, re-launch the game, and have it reset everything to its defaults, or (risky) try changing the values yourself to whatever would match your monitor.
I already tried redownloading it the night I opened the text I haven't had an opportunity to boot up since. But your advice is appreciated I'll update the thread after I try
Yes.. that button... ;p) I should have mentioned trying to offset the mouse cursor purposefully from the button you seek.. and then see if it reacts. (I wrongly assumed if the offset was the issue you may try that method... but its not super intuitive)
Better luck with text file ๐
Thanks @left summit I wasn't sure of the issue, and I haven't frequented the PC since bout 2012 so I decided to open a ticket for advice versus assuming or following intuition ๐ bit ignant with today's software
Not at all.. I just had a stumble myself and was rescued by another kind hearted person on here. Some missions aren't completing correctly, and I went digging and tried to fix. Apparently the naming conventions for somethings are not standard, neither is the spelling for that matter... and so it didn't work. Luckily someone came by and had the answer. It was completely not intuitive... but it worked.
Only in hindsight could I go through a lot of other similar instances and find that there maybe was a rule involved I could apply... Just not the one that seemed to make the most sense at the time.
Redownloading does not affect anything in localappdata. The advice still stands.
That makes sense, and would likely only help if there was a corrupt file that was causing the issue.
My partner had this exact issue. He changed his resolution in his computer settings and when he went back into icarus he was able to to launch it no problems. It was like the buttons were in the wrong place. He did have to guess and try a few different resolution options before he got the right one.
Yeah, I tried every resolution and none of them changed the game itself.
did you delete the config file? it'll auto-regenerate when you launch again, just need to set your settings again.
haha not it just crashes with a UE4 error

uhm. it has always regenerated that file in the past. just tested on my side, got rid of it and the game regenerated it.
so, you've got something weird with your install? or something.
.< just did an integrity verification and it fixed the crash error... but still can't click anything on the main screen
then, I dunno, sorry ๐ฆ
Damn, well thanks for all your time. I just have to have my friend tinker around. it IS his powerhouse of a tower I'm using
