Random Character Deletion

So I resumed a mission and ran around a little bit not really doing much but I felt a little stuttering here and there. I open up settings and changed everything from epic to high and it tells me some settings cant be changed until restart. So cool, bottom right of the screen says last auto save and heartbeat or whatever was less than a minute so I go ahead and exit to desktop. I start the game back up and my character is gone. My literal only character....roughly 190 hours....gone......anyone know what could have happened?
Theres no character save data anywhere and theres no deleted files either. I've checked local files, deleted files, etc

So found the icarus files but my characters.json file is completely empty for some reason

okay, you should have backups of associatedprospects, character, and profile. and a folder "prospects", as well as a folder "loadout".

did you have any other folders in the "Playerdata" folder?

okay, well, by the sound of it, you just lost your entire profile, and I have no idea how.

i do have the folders for prospects and loadouts and mapdata, sorry i was saying just the one in regards to the steam id for playerdata.

but you don't have "backup" files for anything in the main folder...?

you can paste screenshots in these threads, btw, if that's easier.

I play a lot and have multiple characters, so I have more than you would, but still. you should have something like this.

you think that flag could be my character but for some reason the file changed so its not able to read it?

no. flags contains information about what licenses you have for the game.

hey, I did nit play this game for a while, I just updatedit now and my character is gone. I am 100% sure I did not leave it on the planet or something

any way of recovering it ?
