Prompt:
Describe a video game's plot as a 'Florida Man' article.
Entry Requirements
Minimum essay length: 4 sentences
Maximum essay length: reads in 4 minutes
Recommended essay length: 4 paragraphs
TITLE or HEADLINE length: ≥5 words, ≤15 words (two of which must be 'Florida' and 'Man', exclusively in that order)
Acceptable submission formats: .TXT, .RTF (entries may include images from the public domain, but it doesn't affect the score), .PDF (if you want to get fancy, please keep it minimal; remember, it's Florida Man), PasteBin link (if you have link-sending powers)
Content rating: keep it legal, limit/censor swearing AMAP, nothing NSFW (just use common sense or diligent censorship and you'll be fine); the game being described can be an adults-only game, but again… diligent censorship is necessary
Acceptable languages: English, German, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Polish, French, Japanese (||don't even think about using a translator to bypass plagiarism checks; it won't save you||)
Entries will be judged on…
- Absurdity: If it seems common-sense, you're doing it wrong. Read some non-videogame examples of 'Florida Man' articles:
https://floridaman.com
- Accuracy: If it doesn't sound anything like the game, it's less likely to win. Think of it like looking at 'silly mirror'; the reflection is distorted and goofy, but we still recognize what it is supposed to be. It can be an overview or it can focus on a particular campaign or what have you; just keep it relevant.
- Fluency: It needs to be legible enough for us to make sense of it. If the judges can't make sense of it, it'll get tossed. Minor errors won't disqualify you, and post-deadline revisions will not be accepted.
- Originality: It goes without saying that plagiarism will not be tolerated. You will be Event-blacklisted if you copy or steal the work of others.

FAQ:
Q: What if the character's a woman or multiple people?
A: If the character is singular, they must be called 'Florida man' in the headline, regardless of actual gender. For multiple characters, 'Florida men' is a valid headline, but less common.
Q: What are the game prizes?
A: They'll be listed when the contest starts.
Q: What if the game is not available for my region?
A: If you can't redeem it through Opera GX's built-in VPN, we'll provide an alternative of equal value.
Q: I don't have a Windows OS…?
A: @lost briar will hook you up with some Mac-compatible alternatives. Maximum OS version: macOS Mojave 10.14.6. Linux-only winners will get Linux-compatible alternatives.
Q: How many entries are allowed?
A: As many as you are comfortable with (1 per half hour), but each user may only win one prize.
Q: I can't come up with anything past a headline…?
A: Make it a meme and put it in #📂┃media┃memes for other users to get inspired; just don't expect to be credited for it if someone else ends up using your idea.
Q: What if I'm late submitting?
A: I know that feel, bro. Post it on the game's subreddit to brighten someone's day.
Q: I won and already have this game…?
A: Alternatives of equal value will be provided.
