This is not how a web browser works. Any web browser can allocate any amounts of ram they want in order to load flawlessly the future loaded websites. In fact, the amount of ram a web browser takes mostly depends on the website itself. If the loaded websites are non efficient (or just requires heavy resources), the application will undoubtably take a considerable amount of ram. No matter if the web browser is Firefox, Opera, or Brave (i.e). Opera GX has the tendency to praise their "ram efficient" solution, but the only thing they really added was a ram limiter, which will unload the unused loaded websites to free up ram and load the next ones (Every browser has something similar btw)

And for Chrome, the only reason I can think of for why it takes more resources than other competitors is because, when a website loads, it will somehow, allocate more resources to make the website flawless and smooth, I can not consider any reasoning of why it takes more ram other than this one. I may be wrong tho

i think, it's actually because of chrome's preloading feature
by default, chrome preloads most visited pages and search engine to your ram so that they'll load almost instantly when you visit them again, you can disable it by going to settings and disabling "preload pages"
