Just one tiny thing. I love the "force dark pages" beta feature, but... when I open a new page I get this blinding white screen before the page I'm navigating to has a chance to load. Feels like a camera flash, even worse at night time, and it kind of ruins the whole "dark" experience. Is there anything you can do about this? My eyes will thank you forever!

Two-factor authentication should be easier to set up (E.g. from settings, or a pop-up). It would really suck if someone logined into your Opera account and had instant access to ALL of your passwords. And all because it is very difficult to find where to activate two-factor authentication.

Suppress save download prompt on exe files (or add trusted sites where prompt gets suppressed). I use IDM download manager and the download gets submitted to the windows application of IDM but opera gx asks me for a download location even though the download already started in IDM.

Hey, I deeply appreciate the force dark pages tool. One problem is, before every page loads, we got a deep white page in full screen, which is painful and annoying... If you can change that in the next versions that would be highly appreciated. Just setting a dark color when the thing loads would improve a lot 🙏

Hello...i have used my opera GX browser for a month..i love it sooo much it helps me with faster games with the limters etc...but i wished that the browser had a RGB wave function for the color theme on the sidebars etc...i would really like that and maybe alot of others too😃

Suggestion 1: Add an option to make your GX theme color sync with your GX Speed Dial background or sync with your device's background. It would also be nice if it was compatable with Wallpaper Engine backgrounds, as it would really add an effect to the browser itself.

Suggestion 2: Add an option to customize the opacity of your browser, allowing you to see through the browser to other windows on your device. It would be a good idea to allow which parts to be transparent and which ones to not be transparent, like say you only want to have the tab and side-bar and top-bar to be 50% opacity, and have the Speed Dial background be 30% transparency.

There should be an option to change the thumbnail for links on the speed dial to whatever picture you want. I changed my discord link to the one that sends me straight to my discord and the only pictures i could choose from were awful and i just wanted to save an image from google and use that but i cant 😦 Now to get the original picture back im going to have to reinstall the whole application and redo my settings 😦 Would be amazing to let us set any picture we want

Almost 1 week you have the problem that it is lagging, YouTube videos stop 2-3 times for 1 second (no loading, nothing)
If I have 3 tabbs open in the server, the server uses almost 20% of my entire CPU, I have one: Intel Core I7-8700K, does anyone have any idea why this could be? As soon as the browser is off, the CPU is normal regardless of what I do.

What's the point of the release calendar if the dates are seemingly ALWAYS wrong? Is there ever going to be an update that automatically changes the calendar based on delays etc, cause it seems when a game is delayed it doesn't update, so the date is usually wrong if a game gets delayed at all

Not just that. The fact that after each update i've seen them just repost the same feature as if it wasn't there before.

The Ability to customize the "Show tab previews" option in "User Interface. Like to change the size and location it's at.

 * Set the tab to show up below the tab your wanting to view?
 * Add "Preview Border" option
   - A "Set Border to GX Color" Option (Makes the Border the same color as the Rest of your Browser
 * Adjust the Size of the Preview (Resize by Draging or changing the numbers. Ex. Change the Y, X, H, W, or Opacity
 * Change the Darkness of the Background (This can be turned off with a Slider)

Image Pop-out and A Better Video Pop-out: For Image pop-out you would either hover over the image or right click and select "pop-out image". You can Change both Video and Image Pop-out in the settings category called "Pop-out" which will include both Image and Video settings. You can disable show Pop-out button on Hover or "show right click Button". Video also would get the option to Pop-out the Video if you right Click. These are just must haves

It still is possible to use those unpinned plugins, but you'd have to press just an extra button, not that hard 😉

additionally, you may go to the settings page of plugins that don't have to be shown, and turn on the feature "hide from toolbar" or however it's called (I am talking about gx settings) @indigo quartz

Please make Speed Dial, Downloads and Extensions on the sidebar pop out in a panel like Bookmarks and History do.

A plugin on the sidebar or just a regular extension next to the search bar for YouTube that acts as a music player, something like the one on the screenshot below:

Add the double left click with the mouse(depends on what side of the video right or left) to forward or send back the video (10 seconds) in the picture in picture mode

The picture in picture option (symbol) appears for few seconds just when you open a new video and after i can't see the symbol anymore on the video when i pass with the mouse except for youtube, so to see the symbol again i need to reload the page.. so i suggest to let the symbol appear when you pass with the mouse on the video (on all pages) or add the picture in picture mode in the option list when you right click on the video or on the page. I got this issue with twitch.

note for the last update : I think it would be better if you focus on really gaming features, like a browser overlay for games for example, why not add some extra features, or improve the pip so that it appears above the full screen software - not just on the windowed ones without borders, or quickly propose solutions to the game you're in in some cases, add keyboard shortcuts to make navigation easier - players use it quite frequently -, things like that really make a difference. Because honestly, who really care about a background music ? not me in any case

This is actually supposed to be a "volume's bar" implemented for each (opened) page, with a + and a - next to it (maybe make it workable as a pop-up?). I think it could be useful when it comes to "not wanting to turn down the volume/mute the entire page" (while doing something else in the background).

For example: listening to music while following your online lesson might be "frustrating" because your teacher's microphone volume might be too high.

I think it would be cool to set patterns for the colors of the browser. kinda like razer synapse in a way. different patterns would make it feel more customized and personal.

for example. a rgb setting. a breathing setting to have it go from color 1 to color 2 and so on and so on.

Maybe a reactive setting. where the colors change when you click on a link, type etc, etc,

when downloading files PLEASE REMOVE THE AUTOMATIC GX FILE TRANSFORMATION it makes it really hard to unzip things if it even ends up working out at least in my case, when I'd download something, I'd have to unzip it, then unzip it again and part of the files would be missing, basically don't mess with file format changing and just leave it be like google chrome.

i didn't really take the time to see if there's a way to remove automatic file transformation, but it should not be a default setting if it is, it's just a unnecessary thing to have, the file downloading process should just be formated to the way the user wants it and shouldn't have to deal with downloading things in weird formats, basically JUST LEAVE FILE FORMATS DEFAULT, no weird shit, makes it simple and easy, and if it was simple and easy i'd easily make this my default browser.

Rather than making the music customizable, I would add more chill music genres to choose, like jazz or reggae, but not letting the user to choose any song he wants as thats what youtube or spotify is meant to be. On the other hand, u could add Youtube and Spotify tabs to complement this idea

Hello Opera GX Discord Server.

I have a concern on as to why the dark mode instantly hurts my eyes 5seconds in while trying out facebook with dark mode on.
I got excited about it and i would want for it to maybe get the shade of black be different maybe? Just a suggestion. This is my experience of course
I didnt see a "Feedback" button on the Dark Mode, Unlike the background sounds thing.

What about a sound level for tabs? I find myself deafened way too much by loud websites that I have to mute or turn everything else down with it. It would be awesome to not have to worry anymore about that cause you can lower the volume by rightclicking the tab or pressing V + or V - as a shortcut idea.

Well, I would like to suggest some changes to the blocks in the main area. I think it would be more dynamic and stylish if we could personalize them.

A suggestion. In Chrome there is a function that allows you to search YouTube from the bar where the web addresses are written. The process to follow to "activate" this function is the following: From the Web address bar write "youtube.com" and then press TAB, after that,the browser interprets that we want to do a search within the website and it is very comfortable and useful.

Regular syncing with other browsers (i.e. Firefox) by pulling from it like when you manually import would potentially be the biggest thing for me. That is aside from something that likely won't change and is the one thing I can see me eventually leaving Opera over, which is that it appears to be built on Chromium. Chrome is Chrome, and I ditched Google for a reason.

1.
I suggest making the sidebar movable, allowing us to place it bottom or right, and move elements in it.
2.
Can split a workspace in two parts verticaly and horizontaly, and split each part, allowing us to see 2 or more pages in a window like 2 columns, 4 columns, 2 columns and 2 rows, etc

I think when you open the browser, automatically selecting the url bar would be a nice feature.
Without having to click it to type, just open and start typing. Similar to chrome. My workaround is just open a tab with google and you can just type.

Sidebar:

Open Wordspace in a seperate Windows.
More "Sessions" for Social Media. Like 2 Whatsapp Accounts at the same time.
Sizeable. In my opinion the Icons are rly small. it would be nice if you can resize them by settings.

Top Tabs:

Maybe groupable?
And like in Firefox, that you can open "sessions". In this case u can login at b.e. twitter on 2 seperate tabs. In firefox its called "container"

There's a small feature but still really interesting, that is the meteo
But, thing is, we only get the meteo when a new page is loaded, without any research on...
It could be interesting to have it included also in the GX corner, at the same top left corner, in a continuous way !
It is for me, one of my 2 ways of getting the meteo easily, the other one is "Alexa, what's the weather today"...
It's just a small little thing that can improve the browser a bit !

speedtest.net and fast.com sidebar (to test internet speeds)
backround music should allready be paused when you open youtube,twitch,netflix,etc
make the ad blocker also an ad skipper cuz when i play youtube videos it will start with a white screen with a skip ad button

Overlay please, or at least some sort of integration with an existing overlay like the Xbox gamebar (has SDK support) since there are already too many overlays. It would be very useful when paired with something like GX Control since I don't like alt-tabbing just to adjust my browser settings.

Something iOS 14 added was the option to set a default browser. Opera touch isn't recognized as a browser by the OS or by discord for their default browser. Recommend adding that.

i keep having these two issues:

i open something with sound and i can't hear it, even though my laptop sound is on and high. ive only had this one but i had to exit and reopen the browser for the sound to work again.
opera gx keeps forcing dark mode on some websites even though i have that setting off

Overall opera GX is a amazing browser but i have some issues when i use google meet and discord i am not sure if this is my pc problem or the browsers problem but without counting that i really love this browser especially when i knew that this browser is not a ram eater personally this is my faivorite browser and sice you guys added music it is even more better and i think you have to add something like a music custumizer the first option will be default and the other option should be youtube coming out of sidebar it would be very epic and other than that i have no suggestion and to all the people who say i am a staff of opera gx well no i am a user of opera gx from 1- 2 months Thx for this amazing browser

you should change the picture to a png instead of a jpg on the opera.com site, with dark mode on (i know it's in beta) the text becomes white and you can't see the rest of it bc the photo has a white background and the text overlaps it. it being transparent would fix it

I like the idea of tab killing but there is a chrome extension that would work REALLY well on Opera GX. Hear me out. The extension will stop the script of the tab so nothing is running in that tab. This is (in my opinion) better than just closing the tab as you can have it open for reminders or you are going to get back to that tab later just not now. Its a good middle ground for wanting tabs open but not killing your computer but also a tab where you don't want to bookmark it because you don't care enough to do so/not necessary. One more thing, it can set a timer of x amount of time to stop the script so you don't have to manually stop the script. Its just really good for people who have lots of tabs but are not using them. Feel free to DM me more about this idea or any questions, because I want this side by side with the tab killer as it would make an AMAZING addition.

Can we get the option to remove messengers? I do not and will not ever use facebook messenger or essentially any of the built in messengers that aren't discord. Disabling them sort of works, but if you get anywhere near the website the messenger is associated with, it automatically pops back into the side bar.

tl;dr: Opera should not have built in messengers, it shoudl have optional integrations. Let me uninstall facebook messenger, whatsapp, telegram, VK, instagram, and twitter from the browser. I don't' use any of these.

Use URLs to put our own music as browser music. Something like linking our spotify up to it or just copy and pasting a music video URL off of youtube and it plays so we don't have to have youtube open. Maybe a loop feature so we don't have to open the browser constantly.

Would it be possible to add a way to manually change audio devices?

i have a mixer with multiple virtual audio cables to allow me to change the level of sound for various application types. for example, i have one for discord and one for games and desktop audio. i would love the ability to change the audio device for my browser as well, as then i could turn down my game volume while watching youtube or twitch streams without having to go into the game settings itself. at the moment im having to go into the windows settings to change the default output device, but every time opera updates it refreshes, meaning i have to do it again.

not sure how easy this would be to implement, but im sure it would be an amazing quality of life feature if it was

A list of musics streamers can use (musics from twitch or youtube most used) 1 for stream 2 from youtube 3 for bg. and a lite version of opera where you can choose all the functionalities without spend too mutch ram thats all my ideas.

Maybe adjust the current background music so it loops more smoothly? Though you only really notice it when being active in the browser. It's very hard to hear the delayed loop otherwise.

I just joined to say I absolutely love the background music feature in the browser. Its already sick as is, but if we can get some sort of area to put our own tracks in (with varying intensity levels, same bpm all that) It would be even more sick.
