I would probably annotate that diffrence in the microsoft store app. As you can get a $20/mo openai GPT+ account, which is a Paid account, and specfically state it needs a pain API account.

Starting to use the Clippy Chat GPT and like it so far. (note I had to figure out paying for an API key for another app, so I avoided that quagmire here). Is there a keystroke I can use to submit text instead of always using the mouse? I've tried ctrl-enter, alt-enter etc. Thanks!

I had to re-make it from scratch, in python, since i couldn't get your repo working (ive never used any C# gui framework aside from winforms), couldn't get it to build

I got the project set up and happy. I compiled and loaded. I will set up my api key and do some testing, then start playing 🙂

So preliminary, I set it up to use the video file provided above as a proof of concept so that clippy is animated.

I added a section to the settings for selecting your assistant, added the code to apply and save the setting.

Then I added in a check for making sure clippy is default.

And finally i have it searching the /asstests/(assistant name)/(assistant name).mp4

This part is working. Next I would like to add in idle animations and Launching certain animations on actions.

If there are other animation options we should add in, let me know. I feel like it will be easier to parse the folders based on their location. I.e.

Search clippy/idle and pick a random video from the files and play it based on an idle interval. This way the idle animation will be random.

Same thing with thinking/searching, there are different animations for this actions, not just one default video. So It can be a little random.

We can use the waiting animations when the search box has focus and you are typing.

Things like this.

Let me know your thoughts.

I will also look into allowing bard as an option so we are not just limited to ChatGPT 🙂

I don't have any experience with lottie. I understand the concept and I played with an editor to get an animation working. but I agree with Quiet robot. In the lottie files you name the animation, we can just recall the already labeled animation in the lottie

True, the files I sent to FC were divided into in/loop/out but with lottie it could also be a single file, and select from which frame to which frame X animation happens.

Just to give you a heads up.

Last week I had the logic and everything implemented. When the program starts, it plays and opening, when the dialog or setting opens it played a waiting idle animation. When switching the assistant it plays the close animation for the current assistant and then the open animation for the current assistant then leading into them to the waiting idle animation.

On dialog close, it plays the close animation and then goes to the idle sill animation.

I added in some logic so when the assistant becomes "bored" (random time interval between 3-5 minutes, will probably lower this) it will play a random animation from the idle folder leading back into the still animation.

The problems I am facing now, involve getting the video, or animation without a background. Nothing in WinUI 3 MediaPlayerElement respects the alpha channel.

I have been looking into other alternatives, but I'm not having any luck so far.

Some suggestions were to use .webp and play them back, but that means storing individual images for the animation.

Quiet robot linked me some information on an overlay that I might be able to get to work. I will look into this when I have time.

I reverted back to gifs. The image box is the only thing that reliably supports transparency at the moment.

The difficult part was getting them to loop correctly.

I still have some bugs to work out so the close animations and stuff play correctly. But for now, gifs seem to be the only "animation" that supports a transparency layer in WinUI 3.

If we can get gifs for some of the other characters I can work with them to get them working too.
