I have a Discord bot which needs to be hosted, I had it hosted on railway before the recent pricing change.
The estimated usage of the project was around $1-$1.5 per month.

With the new Hobby Plan, when I pay the $5 for the 1st month. Would my remaining credits be transfered over to the next month?

Say

Month 1

  • Balance: $5
  • Used: $1.5
  • Remaining: $3.5

Would my remaining credits be transfered to the 2nd month?

  • Balance: $5 + $3.5 = $8.5
  • Used:$1.5
  • Remaining: $7

If the remaining balance is transfered to next month, can I switch to normal plan and use up the remaining credits and subscribe to hobby plan once the credits are all used?

With the new pricing, it is a $5 minimum subscription to use the service. That $5 covers $5 in usage. If you use less than that, you still spend $5
