#How can I create Ruby on Rails credentials on deployment?

My app deployed, but fails to start because the Rails secret key hasn't been created. On Heroku I could just run rails credentials:edit through the Heroku CLI to create it, but Railway doesn't seem to have anything like that. For obvious reasons I don't want to have to commit the secret key to my repo.

Oh put it in the Variables section, or from the CLI do railway variables set <key>:<value>

#

All variables on Railway are encrypted and then unsealed when needed

@gusty tree it doesn't look like railway variables set works anymore—any idea wha the replacement is?

I had no idea this was the CEO 🙂

He should have a special badge or something... no way to tell!

No way to tell if it was a team member either, figured it was another user with a similar problem
