im making one "level" which will be to the top of the tower. but i will put the map file here when im finished if someone wants to add more "levels" to it. also i welcome any other people to incorporate a checkpoint system, sky texture options (like on overhaul dribble course), moving KActors, etc

finished product with checkpoints. not 100% about the textures since theyre all stuff i found around other maps and online. if anybody thinks something would be better if added, or if they want to share textures they think would be cool, go right ahead.

I’m just going to upload it calling it “the grid” or something. Not only up. And I understand that if he made the assets then he can have a say as to where they can and can’t be used. But to take stuff away from the community when I’m trying to release a fun map for all, showcasing many map creators work and crediting them. Then I don’t see the issue. If anything I see the issue as him taking stuff away from the community (for no reason(yet)) and I don’t think that’s right. We should all be able to use each others assets, maps, etc and credit them because we all wouldn’t be where we are without each other. I haven’t finished the map which is why I don’t know which assets are his yet, I just took a bunch of stuff from a bunch of maps. Won’t be hard to give him the credit he deserves. By no means am I saying I made all of this by scratch and is all mine. This is the community’s

I'm pretty sure I don't have a word to say here but I feel like looking at how small the community is I agree with you there shouldn't be any copyright issuesbeetween anyone at least not for small projects imo, like if you do a map in collaboration with a brand with cashprize and stuff I think it would be a different story

But I still thinks it's important to just casually ask before starting to use anything else if you spend too much time on it and you finally can't share it it's really unlucky

I understand and agree with you. I just want to share with the community. I Haven’t had an issue with anyone yet. I’m also not upset about this either. I just want to understand his reasoning behind it because it does no harm, I take no credit, I get no money. No upside other than providing a new fun map for the community to enjoy. So if there’s a downside he sees that I’m unaware of then I’m more than happy to hear him out. But yes I will ask others from now on

I think that people should put in the description of their maps whether they're ok with people using their assets. I'm gonna start doing this from now on because I have no issue with people using my stuff.

I usually take the opposite approach, I take for granted no one wants me to use their assets so I just ask them beforehand. It might be just me but if someone makes some assets and asks me to take them off, I wouldn't really ask for a reason why, since they are the owner and especially if I didn't ask them if I could use them. I am a little paranoid on copyright and stuff so it might just be me tbh

Yes I agree with you all. I apologize if I upset anybody. However I see it more now as it’s not a problem and ev is the only one who is kinda havin a problem here and It sounds like we all agree that he shouldn’t be holding his stance, but is allowed to since he made the assets. I mainly want him to list what assets are his and why he really doesn’t want them used even if I credit him. And if he really doesn’t want to help in any way then I’ll do what leeroy said. Thank you leeroy for helping contribute to the community and to help me personally.

Also the rings are from a ring zip file, I believe made by swaggle. So I need to know what all ev made so I can see what all would need to be changed. I assume I used a ramp of his and probably a couple of his textures. I wonder if he would be willing to let me keep them if I paid him?

You sound extremely greedy and unreasonable so yea I’ll take them out. Also not sure what you would do if I posted the map. Doesn’t seem like much you can do. But I don’t want bad blood, I’m here to help the community, I can see you really aren’t

its something I created. you can't just assume ownership over something and call the true creator greedy if they expect any kind of compensation/removal. This is basic stuff. I also don't appreciate the threat that you could just use them anyways and there is nothing I could even do.

If you need things like ramps and rings, I can drop some of my in-progress assets that I'm working on for #project-rlmm-toolkit . I'm basically making a kit with everything you need for this map

I understand that not everyone wants to do crazy amounts of 3d modeling to make a map, so I want to help
