Hey wanted to share a project I have been working on off and on over the last couple of years. It is called Streamability and it's main function is to allow users to find shows/movies and display where they can be streamed.

Overview

The project used The Movie Database to query and display shows to users. The original idea was to create a website that would allow users to search for movies/shows and then view where they can be streamed. It has since expanded to be a bit more general, with a similar purpose to The Movie DB.

The project was created from the start with the intention for other developers of all skill levels to join and collaborate. Because of this we have added some slightly more advanced git workflows, linting and testing automation.

Getting Started

The project has a pretty comprehensive README and wiki. These would be the best place to start for running the application locally.

There is a large list of issues on GitHub. These would be a great place to find ideas we have already come up with. Some are pretty simple, quick fixes, and others are completely new features.

Additionally, we are extremely open to new ideas. If you have an idea for an improvement or feature, let me know and there is a good chance we can add it in.

Contributing

For now, we would expect new developers to fork the project and submit a PR to the upstream repo. If you are interested in continuing to work/maintain this project, we would then add you to the main repo where you would gain push/review permissions.

We are very happy with any contribution, whether it is fixing a small typo in the docs, building a completely new feature, or anything in between. Don't feel like you have to do anything too big or too small here.

so it's essentially stremio but for legit streaming sources?

If I am understanding stremio right, this is different in that it does not stream the actual videos. It is just a resource to find the correct service where you would then go watch. It is most similar to The Movie Database
