#[WIP] Cherrier vivace 1997-2007

Would a 2.1L or so I5 be possible?
I don’t think that would fit in a covet unless it’s heavily modified
i might try to fit the i5 form the new vivace but as ion said it will be a pain so it might be a late update, after release
Mate, take some inspiration from the first generation Renault Mégane, Peugeot 206, and the Citroën Xsara.
Still, it's a really cool project.
to an extent yes but there are quite a few hard too see eg the firewall mounted intercooler
modern engine in a old Vivace??
im thinking of the corsa b and c, the mod file is called not a corsa atm
yeah lol
Ahh, alr, I was just wondering if it was possible
??
it will take time but ill give it a go
😄
it will be aftermarket, sorry forgor to mention that
oh ok
as i said some madmen saw the potential of the car and its chassis (being a less known covet + cheaper near enuf)
just a reminder that the picnic is literaly this but better
it makes no sense in the cherrier lore
ok... this is a different vehicle
yeah but why would cherrier make the same vehicle type
it would just eat its own market share
Let's be honest...
The Peugeot 106 is smaller than the 206, and even the 306. Does this mean that those cars would "eat" their own revenue, because all three are hatchbacks?
Also, the Picnic is smaller than the Vivace.
also the picnic would be a much better seller due to the covet being a old platform
also the model year is far too wrong
2007? really?
the french don't use Jap cars for their Golf-sized offerings.
unless you happen to have the '24 Colt
that will never make sense
or any slop mitsubishi makes that has the size of a Golf
to use a 80s platform till nearly 2010
The Opel Corsa was sold in Mexico as a Chevy and it was sold until 2012.
youre talking about mexico, not worldwide
I know.
developing country moment
True.
yeah no lol third world cars are wildly different than in the West, which i assume this vehicle is meant to be sold in Europe
but with updated shit
it doesnt say anything about the marked so i assume its sold worldwide
which makes even less sense
the most recent example of a platform thats been going since the 90's and finished selling in like 2011 or smth was the ford ranger and the crown vic so, and the van
unlike our cars, where they'd rotate lineup every few years (unless its Audi, where its like 10?) third world cars usualyl go on for longer than generations of western cars
atleast in a first world country.
that's not a Corsa
not meant to be rude, but i really dont see any point in this mod
Well, because old cars tend to be more reliable.
and the Vic has recieved many facelifts during the lifecycle @ancient shuttle
yeah and so did the ranger
mexican cars barely get any facelifts
The ranger isnt mexican
Ohhh
The Chevy had like three.
iirc iran had the 405 as the Peugeot Pars
Oh, yes.
i think this mod should atleast have a change in body proportions and stuff, and facelifts lol
just so it makes more sense
the mk2 jetta was produced to like 2013
china scrap
iran also had the 207i
had to actually look that up to see what that was
ngl thats actually cool
a modernized 206 basically
Except China isn't a third world country.
honestly kinda is
cursed
could be second world but whatever
but hey that makes finding replacement parts easier
except the coastline its pretty horrible
also doesnt VW have strong ties with Chinese automakers
it looks like they tried making the mk2 look like a mk6 golf
if done correctly
waiting until some mf in usa buys a whole chineese modernized front end for that jetta and does the swap lmao
me too
hell they could even do it on a golf of ghe same gen
2004 model year beetle 💀
aint that because Mexico really liked the MK1 beetle
the FJ Cruiser:
not 1930s
2007 volkswagen citi golf was a modernised mk1
wasnt anything from VW in Mexico back in like 2008 old shit tho
it was
2003-2020 Toyota corolla in china
Of course.
same with any non western country
I think it was made until then in china
Chinese Audis
volkswagen santana 2012
But those tend to be more reliable than first world models.
im not sure which Audi, but the boxy audis
thats just awful now
mk2 passat
vw brasilia
Hongqi.
yeah but which audi mdoel
80?
5000?
i know it was one of the pre A suffix models
I think the 5000.
o
o
this was also a 2012 in china
super base model audis might as well be the mexican market models the way they're speced like a romanian prison cell
Of course.
I see A3 and A4 saloons most of the time.
But the Q5 is good, too, and is produced here.
the super super base models?
What are those?
no quattro
no sport pack
no options whatsoever
fleet buyer special lookin ass cars
Oh, yeah.
dont mexico produce many chrysler cars
Yes.
But to be fair we have sport pack, S, RS and Quattro cars here.
true tho
but no i mean the base model cars with 2008 ahh wheels
not the average trim level
wait no i think im talking about ferrari lol
because why does ferrari have 6 figure cars with 5 spokes that look like they belong on a cheap car
ferrari?
still better than a escalade on steelies
those are actual oem options?
i saw them somewhere so i think yeah
being too broke to get nice factory wheels but yet get a cadillac
might be for the earlier models tho only
ye prob
same effect as buying a base model 3-series with nothing on it
the F30 in particular
thats a similar logic like a RS Octavia i saw a while ago, it was a nice mettalic blue RS with hubcaps💀 i dont even know how did he get that spec, you literally cant even configure that yourself
prob just slapped hubcaps on there
they were the OEM hubcaps Skoda offers for the Active trim so thats interesting
im not sure if its the same effect as getting bmw hubcaps
https://shop.bmw.co.uk/13729/genuine-17-steel-wheel-rim-cover-hub-cap-36-10-6-783-332/ yesn't kinda thing
prob winter wheels idk
prob easier to get modern hubcaps for skodas tho
yeah
was using bmw as an example tho, yet they havent made a car with hubcaps in years
that reminds me now of my friends dads Tiguan R
he has winter wheels with hubcaps so you can guess how weird that looks
right yeah
dont want to ruin those nice wheels
lmao
props to him for that
they were considering buying the new Tiguan a while ago, idk how that went
Me sees french car, me hopes its inspired by my car, me crosses finger, me happy for now, me wish the dev a happy day
Me sees french car, me hopes its atleast somewhat good, me dissapointed its another Covet
Is it gonna stay like a rebadged covet???
Fr bruh i just saw what it was, a covet with pessima parts😔 how dissapointing tbh
I was like " ok he's just using it as a base to remodel or smthn but nope 😕
i didnt expect anything more from a “cherrier” that has a 10 year life on a 80s platform
right there seems to be a bit of toxicuty going on here, i will remove the cherrier name and change some dates but i do want all of you to bear in mind IM A NEW MODDER and this is why i am so so about keeping this up
@tight tapir thanks for all the toxic criticism towards a new modder...
why are you starting with a full on car if you are new to modding?
just curious
toxic?
im just stating the ovious
let me get this straight
and yeah as @kindred dove saidm why are you making a car as a first mod
lichi you only said stuff about the picnic being already cherrier hatchback flagship in that era right?
and that theres no point in cherrier creating a same exact car and stuff idk
and that its another of those boring rebadges
how is that toxic criticism tho
cuz i said it in a non nice way
if that was non nice way then mine was straight from hell…
you just said the truth
that the picnic is better
well
because it is a scratch made mod by a much more experienced modder
All, im just starting out here, proud of my first attempt and learning a lot from it. I am taking a bit of flak here so will close this down and come back when i have worked a bit more on it.
<@&710084482031550547> please can you temp close this post
is the body going to stay or are you going to change the body a bit
it will be customised heavily this is very early wip
hmm ok
