This is probably a horrendous example but twitch sreamers, especially those in a large friend group, tell one another who to ban from their streams because 1 person said something racial or that one person constantly calls their friends the r slur.

On my discord server I’ve banned someone because he’s leaking paid mods and beta mods. He haven’t leaked anything on my server but I don’t want that he does it.
People shouldn’t think they can do what they want on other servers and then wonder why they get banned.
He even asked me if he can get the beta of the Altair 🤦♂️.

take photos like youre mowing a lawn
make sure they have overlap with distinguishable features
typically 400-800 for a rough interior shape scan
make sure to get behind objects like the steering wheel, or if you can take the wheel off
when i get home i will give an example of how to take photos for something like an interior photoscan
interior is difficult because theres overlapping shapes like the seats, wheel, mirror, headrests
etc

no shake, in focus, etc
if you have a proper camera camera, even better
if you can get me a batch of like 400-800 photos, i can process them and get a model made
lighting is also very important
you want as soft and consistent lighting as possible
shadows can potentially be picked up as faces/edges/points and add geometry where it doesnt exist
as well as lights can hinder whats picked up
so indirect, consistent lighting is a big thing
shiny surfaces also dont pick up very well
but unless you have like, ultra reflective smooth plastic, that shouldn’t be a big issue

from 362 unprepped, terrible lighting, zero thought photos
only 310 cameras actually were able to track
so i had 52 photos missing
ideal conditions would have been like
midday, cloudy and doors open
notice how colors aren't consistent whatsoever
if it was earlier in the day, and i could have the doors open, i could get many more photos, better capture of some of the darker areas like under the dash and the roof
but the problem is those don't have a lot of data to draw points from
this is all the sparse data that it was able to figure out
the rest is mostly interpolation from all the other images
the dense cloud
and the mesh after cleaning up the extra stuff
here's an example of a "decent" scan. this was another just quick test, very low amount of photos at 230, and in not ideal conditions
here you can see though, my camera spread is fairly even, straight, and has good coverage
it definitely could have done with more photos a bit closer
but again this was an after work thing, i just wanted to get a ton of photos and see how it would turn out
from a distance, you can see that even my sparse cloud is actually fairly dense in some spots
which means the dense cloud is very high fidelity
this isn't the mesh yet, this is just the points it's gleaning and interpolating from the photos
you can see the dense cloud is also very consistent
now the mesh
still wavy, but that's how it is
you can't get a perfect scan unless you're using a multi thousand dollar scanner in a perfect environment with perfect prep
i did literally no prep other than open my hood, and start taking photos
you can clearly see where i wasn't getting coverage
no data down iin between the radiator and exhaust manifold
a lot of these darker areas are just basically filled in, with no actual depth to them
since it had no data to extrapolate depth from
the exact same place, but the sparse point cloud, which is your original dataset
again, ideal conditions for this would have been midday, cloudy, and probably taking the hood off
as you can see the hood was still on
i just had this line of cameras aiming towards the front of the vehicle
i might tinker around a bit more with the interior to try and get a more solid workflow down, that way you guys have a better idea of how to take photos
this was a very spur of the moment thing, ideally i'd like to take the seats out to get as much of an open area as possible
and potentially have some sort of diffused lighting to place in areas with very little or inconsistent lighting
again, harsh light is your enemy
scanning the outside of the car is also a similar workflow. consistent overlapping cameras, ideally you'd want to prep the car with some sort of dust/particles to help reduce shine and give the photos something to pick up data from
notice how little data there is
this creates that weird spiking
these will never be perfect, especially using a phone camera and with so few photos
the whole car scan was another spur of the moment test
and is sub 200 photos

before i try the interior again, i'm going to clean it, remove the floormats, seats, and probably put some construction paper over the radio screen, cluster and mirrors
and then doors open, midday
with a light to brighten up darker areas like under the dash
for a rough shape ref
this is fine
but basically unusuable for anything outside of that
the photos are nice for reference though since you can still use them for actual image modeling
