UK had this problem aswell in the 90's. Cut and shut jobs they'd call 'em I think. It wasn't used for importing, but for used cars. Some crooked salesman might get two totaled Ford Sierras, cut both in half and mix and match. Have the front of one car and the rear of the other, then weld them together. Those would have major problems structually of course
