TAZ Baikal was the first modern SUV produced by the Soviet automaker TAZ in the Soviet Union since 1981, until 2014 in Russia. In 1975, when TAZ Mir was still a year away from being introduced, TAZ decided to start developing a new SUV based on the TAZ Mir platform, which would be the first unibody construction SUV in the world. Developing of the vehicle took 5 years when it was finally released in 1980. The only engine offered in the first 11 years of it beeing in production was the 1.5l engine from the TAZ Mir which barely compensated for the torque the small SUV really needed. In 1991, TAZ partnered up with Autobello, the famous Italian car company and TAZ started using Autobello 1.7 liter turbo diesel 4 cylinder engines for TAZ Baikal as well as the TAZ Mir which recieved it in 1993. Most Baikal's after the year 1992 recieved the bulletproof Autobello powerplant, thanks to it having lots of torque. In 1993 Baikal was facelifted with a more plasticy and modern look. It recieved the more modern door styling as well as interior from the late model TAZ Mir, which was already in producion since 1986. The updated Baikal lasted until 2014, when it recieved a slight facelift for it to be sent off after beeing in production for 34 years.

Interior is same on both Baikal and Mir, so im putting only 1 pic of it, but there are multiple steering wheels., Btw dont mind the broken texture badge, its a issue with the skin im making, its interfering with the textures
