Are you going to use the beam navigator html for the maps or are you going to access the map data and draw your own custom one?

Guys, I've got a quick noobie question.
Is it possible to use Automation for the model/texture part of a car mod and then finish it off properly?
I'm looking for a middle ground between Automation and proper car modding from the ground up, main reason being that I'm an absolute anti talent when it comes to anything even remotely approaching art making such as textures, modeling or heck, even sketching.

automation vehicles have really odd suspensions and engines, the chassies look wrong (and the mesh is decimated when exported), they are also a single piece, no doors or bumpers or panels, youd need to manually separate everything and fill in what would then be missing (backsides of fenders, door jambs and all that)
if you are bad at design you could use automation, export it then import the mesh into blender as a "3d sketch"
That's fine with me, the main issue is the whole model. This could allow me to make something happen.
youd need to essentially make the whole model from 0 in blender, automation ones are basically usless in that regard
engine and underbody youd defo need to make from pictures/3d scans of the real counterpart of your design/reuse vanilla beamng models and textures
And if I wanted to let's say, simply fix the Automation car? Suspension, engine, sound. My whole point isn't to publish a mod, but just have something of my own design to drive around with and compete with friends, nothing serious here
at that point just use the automation export

for racing you might get away with adjusting the shape of the jbeam and swapping in an actualy suspension

In all honesty, saying it barely works is giving it too much credit. All it does is looks pretty if you try hard enough and don't mind the lack of doors or other such things

i need some help with deforming, i want to make something like in the picture (the hexagon) where yellow is the force and red is the deformation that happens, the outline should be roughly the same with nodes as the hexagonal shape
The other picture shows the hexagon from the side (the first is top view), yellow is again the force and i want the shape to remain inside the green box => not or nearly not deform up or down

idk stance cars aren't my thing so
there might be a relatively simple answer to this but my skin (left) has the same shade of white as the skin on the right but appears darker no matter how much i configure the paint (the skin doesn't change with color either which is the least of my priorities but might help anyone in fixing this)

they're exposed in the same amount of light so i wouldn't know but when i go into the .dds files they have the same shade of white

Basically it measures at what speed it starts braking automatically, how far is it from the object when stopped and then adjusts the values so it doesnt stop too far from the car nor crash into it

Currently calibrating it. It creates a .json file and after every time it engages it notes at what speed it engaged and how far away it stopped. So then it adjusts the json a bit every single engage so it stops perfectly every single time

there are no popups in the gauge cluster as of right now because ill be making a fully digital one which will have it. these clusters will be the base etk800 if that makes sense

the reason you won't find ferrari 3d models, or mods, is because Ferrari is a copyright demon, any Ferrari mod, model, or anything that isn't licensed Ferrari will do their best to get rid of. So be careful, if you plan to make an 812 Superfast mod, you'll have to keep it private to avoid getting sued lol
They just rename the mod something else that way they get away with it or rebadge it.

works flawlessly. adapts itself to the road so when youre going downhill the raycast actually curves so its not seeing the road the whole time. basically the raycast follows the height of the road. also it follows ur steering so if you swerve to avoid something it wont smash on the brakes causing understeer

torque curve fixed (made 390 crank hp stock, makes 298 crank hp now, gonna change to 310ish)
Custom configs made, proper descriptions (gotta fix specs)
Deleted ETK-K series parts (great mod btw)

fix gauges being slightly off
fix suspension stiffness
fix configs overall (MOSTLY done)
delete weird ass configs with terrible descriptions/thumbnails
fix interior materials (they aren't TERRIBLE, just needs tweaked)

Currently it detects everything from walls to object to cars etc. IRL they mostly only detect cars and pedestrians (Bmw F-Series aka what the etk is based on). mods that only use custom assets (models / textures) will generally last much longer than ones that do rely on base game assets.
But updates can change things, and that can potentially break some mods depending on what kind of mod it is and what features it has. So you can't really make a mod that will never break, as you can't know what the devs might change later on.

I think lua clears it at the end of the funciton, or the section that it's in, but I want to be sure that it's not some kind of memory leak. I'm concerned because I've seen io.open and io.close, but wouldn't they be cleared the same way? Why have io.close?

it keeps using more and more memory until the garbage collector gets to cleaning it. It does that every so often, as in every couple of seconds. However never during a frame. And its blocking, so if your game has this odd stutter and you see a yellow spike in the perf graph then smt is creating alot of garbage like eg a string decoder

It affects all objects in lua btw. be that a table or a class like eg vec3 and until mid last year i didnt know how it exactly works either. Like eg take this simple operation where you calc the dir between two vehicles

So 800bytes from just such a simple operation that the gc has to clean up later
but wait, I can assign a variable in glua, and it'll still be available until I close the game
if I want that cleared, I just = nil it
Luckily the game gives us the ability to negate that by using the XYZ alternates that are scattered across many objects.

Finished off headlights and foggies for Keciles FG/FGX for now.
All FG headlights, Mk1, Mk2, XT, and FPV get rgb halos.
Most FG bumpers, standard Mk1, Mk2, XT and also most FPV bumpers now have rgb foggy halo rings

i made like 2 night supportive maps and its quite the hassle. And if anyone plays them without the highest settings then the lights just look off

You have to mix real and fake lighting really. The poles on there only emit so much light but then i added just non flare lights over the map that illuminate the area a lil more. that makes it appear more realistic

I actually fixed that issue. Change the z rotation a tiny bit if its a point light if its 0 it will not work when looking down but if its 90 its works fine, i was spawing 765 lights on west coast and wandering why they dissapeared al lthe time lol
Spotlights are also insanely wonky. So its hard to tell here, but each pole has 4 spotlights.. but they dont actually have any light, i just use them for their flares and then i put an actual light in front of it
