funny thing the minimum weight is "11", lower than that, and the entire truck folds itself apart

You just need to rename the part in blender and a jbeam and save them both to a new mod folder so mods/unpacked/your mod/vehicles/pickup and then your beam and model

i need a lot of advice
start by downloading blender, and importing a model from the game, like the d series or honestly whatever is your favorite, this will give you something to mess with and familiarize yourself with blender, {to get a model from the game just go to C:\Program Files\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\content\vehicles or whatever your game drive is on, just replace the C if its on a D drive or whatever, and open one of those packs, you should also get winrar, but windows zip program works the same, either extract the entire zip to your desktop, (dont put it in the vehicles folder) or just open the zip with winrar and extract the DAE to your desktop, and then import the DAE file to blender.}

as far as I know nodes cannot have the same ID name
the nodes further in the tree overwrite the earlier-occurring nodes

Hello as far as I know I have assembled all nodes, beams, triangles from my .pc files. here's example "adventure.pc" under "vehicles/atv" but the wheels arent assembled even though im sure i have assembled all the parts that are defined in the .pc file. Any idea if BeamNG handles the wheels separately? i made sure i assembled everything also from the common folder. are there any developers here that can help me with my addon?
Hi everyone. I would like to change some sounds that work with FMOD, like the skid sounds. However, after looking at the documentation, I have no information on the events that trigger the sound, or even the names of the sounds. Apparently it is technically possible.

Am I correct in thinking there only needs to be 1 set of nodes and beams ? I don't need 1 set for the chassis, 1 for the body, 1 for the collision mesh?
Also, do the nodes need to be vertexes from blender or can i use x,y,z coordinates that line up better with frame rails or body lines, but aren't a physical point in the model ?
This sounds rather challenging I believe that sound effect would be somewhere within the game itself. An inefficient yet effective method would be to move all game files to music or videos. Then you can scroll through all options. Find the one that youāre looking for.
The sound effect is included in a proprietary FMOD sound bank that BeamNG owns, and it's impossible to extract. The only possible way would be to create a mod that tells the event that plays the skid sound to play a different sound... ty for the reply btw

Dynamic Decals isnt work. I did everything the same way as the developers, there are both UV layers, but Dynamic Decals isnt work correctly. For example, default skin from K-Series work correctly
When adding an object to Dynamic Decals it does not display correctly and "goes crazy" as in the photo
isnt dynamic decals still in development? i would leave a few updates since you arent the only one to encounter issues with them

I found some broken textures on TrackPadUserās Trackfab brawler, how could I/could someone let them know? On their own time, not trying to be one of those people who are really needy or annoying
depending on the part, you can use one of three modifier tables (intake, exhaust, and multiplier for internals), but there can only be one instance of each table in a given part tree - otherwise subpart tables will completely overwrite parent part tables
for anything more detailed, you'd probably need to define a copy of the base torque table that has a variable or component defined for each rpm/torque point in the table

Do you know how to extend the torque curve beyond what it ends at? Iām looking at the long performance blocks and it adds a lot of HP to the end, it would drop at 7000 for example and with a stage 2 block itāll drop at like 8500 for example

I'm making Rivian R1S, I've installed Vivace differentials with simulated locks (drivingDynamics/actuators/electronicDiffLock), but I don't understand how to register lock control in dse_drivemodes, I want the differentials to be unlocked in COMFORT mode, and completely locked in OFF-ROAD mode, I'd be extremely grateful for your help!

Hello all,
I have been thinking about making a fiber glass body for the BX so wall taps in drifts are a little more realistic/recoverable.
For example whenever I wall tap with the grand marshal the rear quarter panel takes a significant amount of damage while I can continue to drift.
Any help on how to edit values of the vehicle bodyās or making a separate destructible body would help as I am new to modding beamng.

yeah it pops up pretty much as it was, even keeps the follow order for the post. discord isnt flawless though, sometimes it screws up and chucks the user further up or down the post than they should be when they check a reactivated post. that might affect engagement a little, but not terribly

Does anyone know if Engine.Audio.playOnce('AudioGui', wav) should work? wav is a path to a .wav file, and I know my mod can write to this folder.
Do I need to do anything special to use Engine?

b) using knife tool to cut where the firewall should be
c) delete faces (but leave the section where the windowsill is)
d) clean up diagonal edges by dissolving vertices and the two diagonal edge loops on the window sill

you'll likely need to make a copy of the stripped interior part, with the only difference (other than the names) being an additional flexbody

im having issue with skinning currently, i was able to do my dashes/interior, actual skins even nitrous bottles but im having trouble with my trim. I want to add a blackout option and i have it setup to what i think is correct but its not working was wonder if anyone could point out a issue! thank you

I always just make seperate trim jbeams instead of it being a skin
then i would have to make the fender trim selectable, the trim on the front selectable. makes more sense for a skin instead of switching 10 parts the blackout and separating trims on parts thanks for input though, i sometimes do it if its like one item

Cause I used to join random servers lol and using skins for trim colors is a dumb way to do it when beams gives you a system that is extremely simple to change a material when the part is selected

well you have multiple skins and what not. i have what i want to change all separated by a material which i would like to change with one press of a button. instead of going to each trim and selecting the blackout part each time. i could join them all in one jbeam but then thats more work for me to go in do instead of just finding my issue on my skin. i have my skin stuff already setup like every other thing. i just want to know what my issue is on why my skin is not working.
i really want to know why because i always have issues with skinning i either get it or i don't and i'd to learn instead of having to ask people everytime

Don't use a skin for non body parts and it will work you can make all the parts one jbeam and just assign each mesh to the right group in the flexbody sections so there are still attached to the right parts but you can change the color by just changing the one part
I will send a screenshot soon of what I mean so maybe you can take some inspi from it

Yea material override is so easy it's not funny your very rarely gonna have any issues making it work cause all it does is tell the game to swap from this to this and dont need any color pallete maps or anything special or a second uv

Well skins have to use a specific slot and not just any slot name it has to be global_paint I believe that's why skinning other parts with separate skins people don't usually do plus if you didn't add the skin_trim slot to the trim jbeam it's not gonna show up cause u didn't show that I added that slot

can assets only be used in a specific level or can we have assets shared to all levels? currently I have some assets placed in level smallgrid via symbolic link C:\Users\hkunz\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.35\levels\smallgrid\art to the actual assests in D:\files\beamng\art but then they can only be used in the smallgrid level. In order to use these assets in ANY level, do i have to create a symbolic link in all other levels pointing to those assets or is there a common for all levels? if i directly do a symlink from C:\Users\hkunz\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.35\art then I can use them in all but the textures will be missing. So it only works if i symlink in each level folder

The cars have a /common/ folder, I assume there is a similar with maps.

Kinda stuck and I don't know what I'm doing wrong at this point, trying to do vehicle specific functions & looking over the vehicles like the wentward & existing documentation, I seem to have everything set up correctly, nothing is broken in-game but I just cant seen to get the buttons to show up even though I have the custom inputs set up. Hi all, first post here. I'm trying to send a few additional powertrain parameters over UDP by creating a custom protocol in lua/vehicle/protocols, based on outgauge.lua. Most of that file pulls from the electrics object, but I want other properties that are not there. So far, I managed to get torque and engineLoad, which I found are properties of the drivetrain object.
But drivetrain.torque remains at 0 for electric vehicles and I need it to work especially with EVs. Does anyone know which property I need to tap into to get motor torque for electric vehicles?

Hi, I don't know if it's the right place or not, but does anyone have problems with gamers pickup parts? Every time I spawn a trailer or try to buy it on Carrer or even changing the d series frame to the trailer frame it gives me an error saying that the mod is outdated or it has a corrupted file, i already cleared cache and made a clean install of the game

Hey, I want to add the rectangular lights/auxiliary fog lights to the utility bull-bar for the D-Series, but I can't find the model for the lights. I was able to get the bull-bar imported into Blender, but I can't locate the auxiliary lights anywhere.
The lights aren't specific to any vehicle, they are somewhere in the common.zip
But I'd suggest just moving them with the jbeam, since that is how the vanilla game also does it
Just copy the lights jbeam from the other bumpers or roll bar and go from there

Hey :) Im making a mod that adds painted versions of the ETK 800 Xcsport cladding. I've made the normal side cladding work perfectly fine as it is a seperate part, but I'm having issues with getting the bumper cladding (which is a subpart for the bumper) to show up in game.
I can only find the SlotType (etk800_cladding_bumper_r), and changing the name of this obviously just makes the slot disappear, but I can't find anywhere else in the rear bumper file that mentions the cladding?
if you toggle the console with ~, it should let you know if there are any part naming conflicts or jbeam syntax errors that prevent your mod part from showing up
Ah! The console said the cladding was being overwritten, and as such made it obvious that the bumper cladding (for some reason) is under the cladding file, and not the bumper file. Thank you so much! :)

I can't really help u much as that's not what I was doing. the way I learned to convert stuff from asseto to GTA SA was to look for specific tools. go to google and search something like "Asseto corsa 3d modelling", use keywords like: modelling, editing, export/import etc. just follow videos and try their ways, might not at first but u'll figure it out.

beamng is a very specific game with very specific needs that require very specific assets
my point to him was to do research first, I mentioned that I haven't done it myself too
many times asseto mods are ultra high detailed and not optimized meaning beamngs deformation phisics wont play well and they will deform like a spike ball, so you generally cant even use asseto corsa models for beamng
Yk how blender has a subdivide tool, is there an 'un-subdivide' tool or something like that or is it all manual
that destroys the polyflow and makes the shading awful
you generally need to retopo the models or manually reduce polycount

Since no one replied, A fatal Lua error is usually because the mod itself is outdated or broken, There's nothing you can really do about it unless the modder fixes it.
Look up how to UV in Blender, Im sure you'll get the gist of it, Its better to just remap and make your own UV, Especially if you've modified/made new body parts.

it probably just uses the default headgasket broken override or whatever it was which will also make it belch out steam from the engine
so im not sure you really can without coming up with some kind of custom override that makes steam only come out of the exhaust

In theory it could do lots of damage (disney was supposedly hacked by one of these mods) but I don't have any examples to give of that much damage to you. But better to be safe than sorry
Remove the mod gets rid of the lua file. And the virus scan removes any other files downloaded by the mod (since the American roads map downloaded a 3rd party file)

in the beams section there should be a beamspring value, and the higher the value the stiffer it is

in blender you put a physical light object and then bake a diffuse map
then whatever part of the mesh is lit up will be displayed on the texture in whatever color you made the light
given that you properly uv mapped the mesh
Ive tried that once and i remember the texture always coming out black, im not sure what i did wrong

or you could try paintint it manually

they deploy too fast for the engine to handle their collisions well, amongst other things
