Well, I suppose I can enter the discussion here, first of all, we need to define what a meshslap is, and when something becomes (or ceases to be) a meshslap....long message ahead
The easy way to define it is, any mesh slapped into an existing jbeam, normally the mesh is also carried over from another source, but it can be done by the author, the thing is, unless the jbeam is almost entirely done by the author as well, just a handful of mods ever done qualify to escape that.
Let's say the 4Runner or Defender mesh were painstakingly done by me...the moment I use the Tograc jbeam as a foundation, nothing would change, is still a mesh, no matter where it comes from, slapped into an existing jbeam...now, where the debate could become interesting is...if the jbeam is fully modified and adapted to the mesh, including not only the main shape but also the forces, the prop movements and so on, and no one noticed and told what it was, how bad it would be?
That's the issue with the word 'Meshslap', it has become synonymous with 'Russian mesh slapped into a Bolide in 3 minutes with awful textures and no further changes', but the word only defines what it is, not the efforts behind it, so it's a bit unfair.
Of course, mods done as much from zero have and should have everyone's respect due to the enormous amount of work they involve, but as long as time, passion and attention to the mod is brought to the table, who cares?
At the beggining, due to the meshslap thing, I wasn't eager to publish the Defender, I did it for myself, but I guessed people would enjoy it, and it was the case. It means it's a better mod than...the Picnic for example? Not in a thousand years, but it's like many things, as long as it's fun to use, look and trash around, a mod will be good, no matter how it was done. In my case, I would love to do 100% custom content, I wasn't even able to do the Defender 90, I did my best with what I know now, and people liked it, so it's a win-win for everyone I guess.
As I see it, the golden scrath-made mods are still on a place of their own, many people can enjoy a meshslap or a original creation, but I don't think anyone would dare comparing the quality and expertise involved.
So...long story short. Yes, maaaany mods are meshslaps, but again, that's just a definition, and doesn't take anything else into account, at all times, the effort done by the modder is all it should matter, it's a good mod? Great. It's not? Too bad. That's it.

Bit of a late reply, sorry, but I found that if you pause the physics before respawning/resetting the car, and after it resets you unpause, the fuel tank doesn't rupture
It also won't rupture if you simply reset/respawn while the time is slowed down, I think x2 already works, but the default x8 should be good in any case

Completely understandable! I figured I’d try and maybe try to find a video of someone working on a vehicle, take my time at least getting started and watching as many tutorials as possible
This would be more of a passion project than anything else, simply because this is the vehicle type I’ve desperately wanted in game since I started playing a few months ago.
If it takes a few months or more to complete, I’m perfectly fine with that, then I can have a product I can say I did from start to finish.

Yes, someone was making a Back To The Future inspired Bolide. It took cues from the actual movie car but modified to fit the Bolide. It was looking promising but then no more information was said about it. Only the WIP image. And I can't find it now.

I’d personally skip both and get the new Grand Wagoneer with the Hurricane I6. Built sturdily, with proven (semi) electronics, and even if you didn’t want that experimental engine, you can get the 6.4, which is rock solid and will easily take to supercharging to make it insane quick.
Lexus is for old farts, and the products show that, and Cadillac is a GMC with not even nicer leather. Cadillac is also damn near irrelevant in every category of vehicle they release, with GM build quality, so 👎

when I drive the car and steer, it freezes the rpm and speed and steering angle and then I cant do anything and the car is like its driving on neutral but the rpm is still the same and when I pres R it respawns but it's still freezed
