@drowsy frost The UI is just an UI app you can place anywhere on your screen, but I made it fit in best when put on the right side. The app itself is JavaScript, so just like every other app.
It grabs the data from the lua I've written for the radio which in turn gets the artist name, display name, full duration, cover file path etc. from a JSON file that's generated inside your userfolder (path right now is "settings/zeit/radio/trackTable.json"). You can add your own music as easily as I could make it work this way. The playlists are also defined inside the same JSON. Songs are listed in the order you set in there. The files (so cover file path and music file path) are in art/zeitRadio/, however you can freely choose the location as long as the path can be accessed by the game. The files can either be put into the mod zip itself or your userfolder.

Unfortunately you cannot skip to a time inside the song as that isn't supported by the game engine directly. What I found out would work though is playing around with the pitch, as that also slows and speeds up the sound. I used this to make the pause/play feature work.

The issue with that would be that the sfx source and the timer I have running for the playtime could very easily get desynced

@tired coyote Why it sometimes appear in your videos that songs get played like not from the car. I mean, i expect that the songs get played with that radio filter you can see in that neon race track mission, but just applied for all songs in the playlist. Is that always on? Or does it needs to be done for the audio manually or does your mod don't have that at all. Just wondering. Also in one video it was making the audio muted from exterior. I rather would recommend to mute it only by a minimum volume set. In other words, you can hear the music a little bit from outside if the music is loud enough. And if the music is way louder, then much more. And if the music is very low at volume, you won't hear anything from outside

I cannot apply any filters to the sounds in-game, the Lightrunner tracks are sound events and have a pre-done filter. Unfortunately the interior muffling is also hard coded into the game engine.
About the outside: yeah I can do that 👍

"I'm gonna let my opinion out on here as I've already experienced paid mods in many different games/sims. (mainly Assetto Corsa) Paid mods are completely normal nowadays, and there's nothing inherently wrong with this practice. I've bought a lot of great paid mods in AC (RSS and VRC), and hey you could even say iRacing has already been doing this for a while with selling cars and tracks. From what I've been seeing, the main problem here is the lack of communication. I say that as Lucas has already set a precedent for his mods being free, and for people to expect the Picnic to have been free is no surprise. It's totally fair for him, with his workmanship, to do paid mods, it's just that people weren't given any warning at all. So I can totally understand the outrage of many, but to call these people "Immature 9 year olds" is completely unwarranted. Not everyone is willing to spend their hard earnt dollar...euro...whatever, for what is in reality just a car addon for a video game when they could spend it on more important matters. So it'd be fair that these kinds of people would've been disappointed (and even frustrated) to know that this high grade mod is behind a paywall. At the same time however, for those frustrated to send Lucas death threats? Absolutely unwarranted as well! Paid mods are everywhere now, trust me...this is totally normal. To be angry for this simply being a paid mod is a shallow stance, but to those who are angry cause of the lack of warning, I completely sympathize with. So in conclusion, I think this whole situation could've been mitigated if only there was better communication/warning beforehand. You can't totally blame the community for their reaction (disregarding the death threats, which is absolutely unwarranted no matter how you look at it), people thought it was going to be free right from the offset, only for it to be a paid mod without any warning. So the frustration is to be frank, unsurprising. If only there was proper communication about the Picnic becoming a paid mod, most of these frustrations would've been eliminated as people (who would've been the ones outraging today) would've just took this mod off their radars.
