Because to create such mods it takes a LOT of effort and time. Therefore, people want either to be paid for their work, or they only let their friends use these mods. Basically, the main problem with modding in BeamNG is that it is, in most cases, a thankless task. There are no donations or funding from developers. And a lot of work is required. Therefore, people try to somehow recoup their labor.

By the way, I believe that the main problem with BeamNG Drive is the uneducated community. For 90% of all players, this game is just "I can drive a car and smash it against the wall", despite the fact that the game has an ENDLESS OF POSSIBILITIES. You can create your cars and super fine tune them, you can change levels and make them from scratch, you are given powerful editing tools in your hands, but the players DO NOT WANT to learn it. Most of them never even entered the world editor.

Developers need to take action to educate their audience. Most of the players are not able to learn the game on their own.
This is a completely different level of the game, not like anything else, so people come in and cannot adapt well. And all this is aggravated by the lack of any normal guides. In the Russian-speaking community, the situation is generally quite depressing

there is no ai graph like other games use

it uses the roads as the 'paths' and sometimes waypoints, but that is about all you would need the editor for

the actual ai logic is just pure lua and stuff, you can see debug of it if you use the traffic ui app

Is there a mod that adds a transmission for the T-Series that lets me tune the gears? I really want to mess around with super-fast semis, but the transmission usually tops out with barely any modifications, and I can't find a mod that has a tuneable transmission. Does one exist? I'd really like to be able to lengthen the gears a bit to get some speed. Or even just being able to tune the final drive/torque converter would help

Is there a way to remove the Gavril T-Series rev limit? I'm not sure what's causing it, but I found an engine mod for the T-Series that has an engine which can rev to 8,000 RPM. The problem is, the game seems to have a hard limit of 3,000, because while the dial clearly shows a redline of 8,000, the game forces the engine to stay at 3,000 and not rev any higher, despite the dial showing it can, and the lack of any engine management module installed. Nothing should be limiting the revs to 3,000, but something is. Is it possible to get rid of this "phantom" limit?

you probably need to change the turbo, long block stuff as well, if you look at the torque curve app, you should be able to see why there is a hard limit :]

Yeah I have the torque curve app and that's why I know there's a limit. But I did change the turbo, and if it's not the stock long block, the RPM gets forced down to 3-4K on the dial and still gets limited to 3,000 solid.

It's like there's a phantom limit and I can't figure out why, and I'd also like to remove it. It's making drag/speed semis really hard to make

But like, you can see it just cuts power massively at 3K because the limiter forces the turbo offline
