the manual one is kinda easier if you start with something like second gear
before moving into starting with first gear
it does take months anyway, even people acquainted with modeling and blender take months to 3d model a proper jbeamed car
with a working interior and such
so, yeah
it will take time, but as long as the results are rewarding, i am a patient lad
Cool
Somebody should make a volvo 740 mod
I could but i dont kknow how to make needles working
On the game there is no garage for me.
Me neither
I can’t create mods.
Me neither
Yeah, I want it to come back.
Could someone make something like this it would be freakin awesome
You could try to do it yourself, for me it looks like a good starting point to learn how to mod
yea i thought soo too but how do i even get started
The MfD server could help you
?? whats that
It's in pinned messages in #modding-general
ah
ok i will try to find it
@hushed cobalt i found it but i dont understand where to ask for help
ok what program should i use
Blender (modelling), Notepad++ (jbeam) and Gimp/Paint/etc (skins) if I ain't mistaken
damn it sounds hard
You should practice modelling in general before going into modding for that project
My knowledge stops here, sorry
ah ok
Good old question, how hard can it be?
Probably hard
What car is best to drift? (Mods and vanilla included)
Modify the pigeon sidewheel and have fun XD
@pallid dragon how do i make it bigger and fit it on another car
should i download a 1.6 gibabite map off repo (los injuios)
Hard when your start, and easy as fuck when you know how it work. Well excepted jbeam which is always a critical step.
jbeam is easy lol
does anyone have the 2012 Gavril Grand Marshal from a while ago
its deleted from the forums
I said the same , things changed when nodes works come in
how much would it cost to make a toyota hiace mod for me
Why can't you learn to make one yourself?
I kinda wish somebody made a RAF-2203 mod
I mean I would make it but it'd probably turn out to be a steaming hot pile of garbage
oh well
In modding help theres a server which can teach you everything you need to know with modding pretty much
If you're interested in modding anyway
Its in the pinned messages
yet no one really helps there anyways
so i want to make a 2005ish mustang and call it the GRAVIL MOUNT and found a good one on modland i wanna fix it up and make it truly good i dont know where the jbeam file is and its a based off a moonhawk
any tips
well first you should find out if you are actually allowed to use mesh, etc
^
idk what im doing im new to jbeam
ive used blender its pretty easy
im going to make a moc up in blender
Like i say every time , start with something simple
hey @devout solstice i really wanted to ask a couple questions regarding modding if you dont mind
- whats the difference between low poly and high poly models? i dont think i quite got it
- does beam use low poly or high poly?
- do you consider your bike's model to be low poly or high poly? it seems high poly since its detailed but idk. also do cars differ from bikes in terms of the whole poly thing?
- how do you create a unique sound for a car in beam? i always wanted to know
hope theyre not much
- Low poly = Low vertices count, vice versa
- The game may use either high or low poly models. Higher poly models aren't needed but will have a bit more of an impact to your system.
- High poly. Poly count is just defined by how you model it.
- All I do is grab and audio sample from anywhere that fits the vehicle, you can use Sbeam files or sfxBlend2D files. Sbeam files are used for applying sound files to throttles, whilst sfxBlend2D files need multiple sound files, chopped into different frequencies matching the RPM and assigning them inside the file so they will linearly blend to create a better, cleaner, and more flexible sound than sBeams can. Though you must also assign the sfxBlend2D file name to your engine jbeam in order to allow it to work.
To chop up the audio, I use FL Studios. You may use audacity or any other simple DAWS.
- I finally can understand it, thanks a ton. This means that stock Beam cars are high poly, right?
2 and 3. So if I'm going to model my first car, it better be high poly (since I suppose low poly is like a laughable 144p 3d model lmao), right? - Is creating an Sbeam file from the ground up hard? I'm looking forward to dedicating myself to my first main project being a Hyundai Veloster N (and if I get the hang of Blender, perhaps the whole 2017-2020 Veloster lineup) and I'd love if it has a custom sound. I wouldn't like it to be a Cherrier Arsenic copycat, in terms of sound, in a different body (which is really what most meshslaps do). I'd love to know how easy or hard is it to create a custom engine sound. Also, is it possible to create custom crackles and pops? I really would love my mod to be well done and authentic, even if it will take time and dedication
- Beams vanilla vehicles are usually 70k-130k-ish depending on the size of the vehicle.
- Low poly in beams case can mean anything under 80k verts imo.
- No creating an sbeam file is really easy. All you need is one sound that's on a single rpm or no noticeable change in pitch, and just enter values in one line of code. Though this creates a result that sounds really uneasy to the ears on the higher pitches as the sound gets "skinnier". sfxBlend2D files on the other hand have a linear blend when given multiple sound files which can keep the bass and mids in whilst throttling unlike the sBeams.
This is for the sfxBlend2D files: https://wiki.beamng.com/Sound
This is for the old sbeam files: http://www.beamng.com/threads/custom-sounds-for-beamng-0-4-2-0.16077/#post-253012
http://www.beamng.com/threads/help-deciphering-sbeam-file.28119/
1 and 2. Oh I see. Well, I'd like something similar in quality to Beam's vanilla cars but not too difficult for me to model. I guess 100k-110k vertices is a sweet spot then.
4. I suppose, by all that, you mean that the sfxBlend2D platform is much better and more advanced than the Sbeam platform. Is there any difference between both? I just went into the link you sent and I'm a pure noob but, it seems more complicated to me. Since the sfxBlend2D platform is more...conservative in terms of sound making, I guess I'll adapt it into my car. The platform can include also custom crackles and pops right? The default ones in Beam (in stuff like the K-series) have a deep groan, while the Veloster N's are fruity in comparison. You can have a listen here:
https://youtu.be/M1FvWUidKTk
https://youtu.be/SVR6FBE6DyA?t=115
Or at least, fruitier crackles and pops to my ears.
Other questions:
5. How can one build a custom gauge cluster? I want it to be the same as the Veloster N's, with accurate gauges and similar actions. Is a custom gauge cluster easy to build?
6. As you can see in the image at the bottom, the Veloster N has a small color LCD in the middle for displaying various drivetrain info and stuff alike. In my mod, I'd like it to just show the trip info (like in the first picture) in the Eco and Comfort modes, and I'd also like it to show the drivemode at the top (picture 3) and for the accent colors to change. However, in the Sport and N modes, I'd like it to show the drivetrain info (picture 2) in real time from Beam's data. I guess it's pretty complicated, but is it doable? I've seen aljowen (creator of Raven cars) do pretty damn complex digital driver displays that are not only cool but also interactive. I don't need mine to be interactive, I just need mine to adapt to the drive modes. So, is it doable?
A few short sound clips of the Veloster N with Performance Package. This is the stock exhaust in "N" mode.
Also tried to figure out how to use the launch control, but it still eludes me.
All driving took place on a closed course by professionals.
#velostern #exhaust #hothatch
Just a quick video showcasing the Veloster N's awesome stock exhaust system.
In normal mode, the car is fairly quiet, with minimal depth/growl and no pops.
In Sport mode, the exhaust valve opens and adds volume, depth, and tone. The idle RPM also slightly increases.
In N mode, the exhaust valves remain open, and the car's exhaust will pop on th...
Picture 1
Picture 2.
Picture 3 (note it saying "N" for N mode at the top, right next to custom. Not the "N" for neutral).
- As you noticed in the second picture, the N has 2 types of lighting. The one on the tach displays the oil temp in real time. The one above the digital display is the shift light, which is similar to an F1 car's shift lights. Are both doable in some way?
- Can certain info, like BeamNG time and temp, as well as the current gear and an expected mileage (maybe?), be shown in the gauge cluster? Doable?
- As you can tell, I'd like the Veloster to have custom drive modes much similar to the real life car, where Eco favors shortshifting (DCT exclusive, can't apply to the manual), decreased performance, the most silent exhaust setting, and toned-down throttle response, while the N mode, for example, pretty much amps the car's performance to the max and turns on the active exhaust's crackles and pops (which are exclusive to N mode). I guess drive modes are easily doable, right?
- Are live engine parts (radiator fan and the likes) doable within the Veloster N's custom modeled engine?
||Look I know I haven't even started modelling, but it's the two weeks of finals that are left before I step my game up and start modeling in Blender||
Answering these would be REALLY appreciated CRGZ. Thanks a ton! :D ♥️
@buoyant rapids I know this is like 2 days late but thanks lol
np
Update 2.0 Vector Lightbar
-Fully working traffic advisor
-New rotators
-Darker colors for the covers
I love the "It's the law"
Niceee
S N O O P Y
Nah, fuck museums man
anyone got any prerunner mod
big f
my lumps of text which i spent some time typing on never got replied to
oh well
i repiled
lol
- yes
- yes. SfxBlend gives a clearer sound output.
5.html, js, css and lua all together. other than that it's out of my knowledge area. Analog gauges, all you need to do is make the needle a prop and then adjust the amount of rotation. The gauge itself may just be a texture. again, not my area.
- Thanks a lot!
- Right. So that means I can create a clear sound output through sfxBlend with custom sounds as well as custom crackles and pops, I suppose. Thanks a lot.
- I see. I guess I'll have to refer to people to help with that, since my knowledge in all is very limited (despite me being more capable in HTML and CSS). Thanks again.
- Last question I promise (and I'm sorry for asking a ton as a complete noob): what are the best channels to refer to when learning modeling in Blender? Do you have any personal favorites?
Oh, it seemed like a high quality model though.
mine craft is made out of cubes
the model that I posted above is low poly
low poly is good
This is what I imagine low poly is like.
models can be low poly and not look like cubes with the right modifiers
A little less...fine-sculpted and more abstract.
that's not what low poly should look like with the shade smooth and edge split modifier
Oh.
Well I imagined you referred to low poly as something similar to this.
Which is used in phone arcade games.
I didn't know your model was low poly too.
so that's basically low poly?
Oh.
look at the official vehicles
So my model must look like this, then it will look more...professional and high poly-like using the modifiers, right?
pretty much....
Right.
So CRGZ's model is basically that.
And so are the official vehicles, you're saying.
Right?
I suppose yes.
yes
How hard do you reckon modeling this will be? Since you have the red accents, the vents, etc (the bottom is busy)
I made the model for a school project and it was due in a few days so it was pretty messy... it only took about 8 hours
Oof wow. But you were used to Blender, right?
I had been using it for about half a year
I hadn't actually completed modeling a car until then though
It's not very user friendly
wow that absolutely amped my hopes up 😔
I actually have a book
what really got me started on modeling was youtube videos
I can link some but I'm busy rn
i see. which channels were the most informative/useful for you?
still have lots to learn in blender
like just name me a few from the top of your head
actually, I forget...
but
you can look up videos on how to model cars and you should get the idea in an hour or two
or at least, that's how it was for me
yea im a fast learner myself
so i might be able to catch up the idea easily
- anything that you can find is good enough. I used literally anything
alright I guess.
also question
did you get into modelling without having any previous experience or did you have any prior experience?
I made a cube
then?
I'm kidding I didn't even make a cube
I just did water physics one time
then completely left blender
then just made the hirochi tl45 model, didn't want to finish it, then the bike
so you literally went right into modelling cars with no prior experience?
neither with modeling nor with blender's UI?
basically
I learned blender 2.7 a bit, not much, but then 2.8 came and it was all new to me
so yes I had to relearn and learn all the basics
i see
i guess youre a fast learner based on the progress you did. was it easy or hard to adapt to the learning curve?
i mean yeah ofc modeling will take time but im into it
but like
how many months till you felt confident learning? one? two? more?
I literally just learned off the spot. anything I got stuck on, I searched the internet
i see but like
how many months
5 lol
oof. and then how many months to model the motorcycle?
5
actually, if putting the hirochi tl45 into consideration, it would be around 6 months. that was the beginning of the learning progress
oh so learning+modeling it and all=6 months
well
if you can do it in 6 months
then i bet i can too
hopefully, at least
I modelled like everyday
took some breaks, week long or so once or twice because I ran out of ideas
but eventually it got easier
just do a vehicle that you have a huge addiction to like me lol
it'll help your drive
that's pretty much what I did
I did that too
ping
why are all my messages being deleted😆
If you say "f u c k" it gets deleted lmao
lol
Pinged twice
bruh
Stop pinging dammit
this channel is weird
smh
I'm trying to reply to one of your previous messages and nothing happens except a ping...
nm
put a space between info . jason it's picking it up as a link
ah
Or take an screenshot of what you want to tell me
nodes aren't separate from jbeams
Are you telling or asking
But why you're telling me this lmao
so why does he need nodes and a jbeam?
I express wrong
oh
For have a funtional car you need at least all the structure work
(Nodes / Beams/ Trianges)
And ofc a mesh with textures
To spawn , no
but it does look awful without
To just have just physical object , don't need texture
But you'd have a car without textures
yes. i will lmao.
the veloster n is the way to go
alr then imma do the same
alr
how would i make a mod to replace the d series bed with stairs
model it and make a jbeam
yeah how do i do that
too late
Kemro one step further humanity
mmh yeah
Kemro, my man, you are on another fucking level. With this upfit, quite literally.
Well, start with blender.
Staircase to heaven but a little under heaven
Ahah, thx, always higher
good luck my man xD
mostly because i want one like the one from arrested development
it's my favorite show
someone made one for assetto
Funny
Is there a pope-mobile?
no
is it possible to encrypt vehicle mods jbeam files so that others can't edit it?
I'm just curious
its called not releasing it
can we make mod recommendations here because i have some and i dont think they're even gonna be good mods if i make them myself because im really bad at blender (i dont even have it and also yes it's a car mod)
Modelers generally only make mods that they're really interested in... Unless you're planning on paying commission or you find a modeler who's interested in the exact same things you are, there's not much of a chance that your mod idea will come to fruition.
Or, you can start working on making a mod, yourself.
yeah ill try that
In modding help theres a server which you can ask for help in and it gives you tutorials in modding if you wanna start modding.
ok
literally why doesn't anyone say thank you
Too many letters
"thx" ?
As I said
Been looking for solid reshade presets for a while now, does anybody have some I could try?
any good mods today ?
Vector 2.0 version, more realistic covers colors, fully working traffic advisor, new rotators, wig wag.
woah!
are there fps mods in beamng
like framerate?
what are you talking about
it's called turning down the settings
ok
That, and light versions of maps that exist on the forums, you need to search for them though
but gridmap is the easiest map to run
really?
@dusk dragon i like your mods alot thank you for making them ^^
Yeah but I haven't seen those pop up in a while so I'm not sure how many are going to work on the current version
wow
they're mods so, not officially supported
ik
ahah thx ! you can follow my work on my website if you want, I post news/screenshots and the level of dev of my mods ^^
Ill look into it keep up the good work!
the easiest thing to do is turn down the grass density
that doesn't do much to Utah but i normally don't have trouble with that map
hello, anyone have an invite for kissmp discord? i suck, can never find servers by searching for some reaason
the first thing I searched up about kissmp and I already found the link. seriously
you probably could of sent the link with less effort, someone took pity on me.
don't think I can send links anyways
just search up kissmp beamngdrive discord
it's not that difficult man
. . .
@vast sentinel the wheel mod is not in the game, ill get u the name of the mod
If you think that's a big map, it's nothing compared to Los Injuries or Roane County, Tennessee.
bruh that's like nothing compared to generic city
Is it? I don't remember how big GC is...
generic city doesn't work for me 😦
ok, give me the name
go to #714429950765301791 @latent ivy
maybe ake the sound a bit lower?
also does anyone know a graphic mod for beamng
that makes the game look good, I have everything maxed and it doesnt look that good
my computer has a really bad (intel) GPU so i cap the framerate at 30 fps
damn that ding ding thing is trippy
no like the way it changes pitch and all that
reshade
Agreed. And maybe make it more difficult to take off the base in the first place.
where can I download it
can't post links but it's first search result on google
do I need like presets and such?
also how do I download it
nvm
whats the default key to acces reshade and its presets?
@buoyant dragon
look at the website
or youtube
ok
i have a 1080ti and i cap at 45 you aren't really missing anything
any customization mods for the 300zx in beam?
why would you cap it at 45 or is you pc just cpu bottlenecked?
excuse me, is there any headlights guide?
there's not really any guide for anything
Emerlight 500 got a cruise mode
and a clear top cover version
Hi guys do you know any mod that simulate a dyno? I know that devs were working on it like 5 years ago but I can't find anything
There's a vanilla UI app for it, IIRC.
And Kemro, that looks so good!!
I need to get all your mods together and do a photoshoot with them...
Pretty sure they are not working on it anymore
Ahah thx ^^
does anyone know of a tire wear mod or something similar
Where do you find the branded car mods such as Lamborghini, Nissan?
with viruses
Do they have viruses?
Forum or bust im afraid, some will link agents pack but that is so varied quality wise I can't recommend it
They are low quality, and come in 3rd party websites that reupload mods found on the forums and repo without permission
You wont be impressed
Thanks
I made a configuration for the D-Series extended cab prerunner i added A supercharger 4wd and the facelifted body panels its awaiting for approval its my first time uploading a configuration.
so it's literally just vanilla parts
thats what is put in the configurations section
Yes!!! I was just going to ask you about this, actually.
that's not what i meant, i mean it's around the highest I've reached during gameplay on a normal map
Probably not gonna be the skin I'll use, but hell, that lightbar is beautiful.
well I just make simple skins for the configs, their goal is not to be professional looking ^^
and thx ^^
Maybe add the Pepega police livery?
uh ?
You heard the mod called Need For Speed Most Wanted Pepega Edition
Basically normal most wanted livery but with Pepega logo and it is also green like on the pic above
you're talking to me ? I'm working on the lightbar, not the skins @latent ivy
I just made simple/really basic skins for my configs but it's not at all a skins pack
the two last skins for the blue and amber lightbar
Damn, that looks good.
Already avialable?
The old lightbar for the moonkawk and the barstow is almost here too?
You can look at progress updates on Kemro's site.
what if...
I'm gonna stop you right there.
im gonna have to ask you to not
Not for the moment, and the Aerodynic is for soon too. You can see some news about my mods on my website indeed.
Ahah, tomorrow the update will appear for the Emerlight 500 for the Pessima (normally)
Great to hear! I'm looking forward to using it.
I thought it would get some laughs.
so thats why you DM'ed me.
Epic
Damn, Kemro! Those look fantastic!!
woah! Looks good!
Thx guys ^^
np 🙂
Noice
An old project from 2020 that I'm finally going to finish xD
pretty interesting
crash well too
I noticed on thing:
When the panel thingy came off it was levitating
Anyway :
alright who put the poop on the top of the SN95 and called it a rollcage?
Yeah is saw that too, made some tests and I didn't got the same error, so it's not really a problem xD
The etk badges will be removed and replaced with custom "old" cherrier logos
What it will be?
?
You said it will be a Cherrier, right?
umm yes
Like the Peugeot 505
More like a 309
With some imaginary parts
Ah, I see. Do you plan to keep the drivetrain or maybe turn it into a FWD car?
I'll try to make it FWD
I would make another one that is a RWD like the 505
ok so you want it rwd
?
Nah, 309 is too small to be fitted with RWD unless it was a backyard modification made by a guy with a welder and some parts laying around
I recommend you to shorten the wheelbase and the overhang so it could fit the C-segment or compact class
ok
does anybody know of a good daewoo lanos mod or american spec daewoo mod for beamng?
No
nope
well im not surprised tbh
the only daewoo mod that looked good was actually a block with a picture of a zaz sens hatchback rearend on it
and the pictures for the cars was a covet
the 2nd gen pessima kinda looks like a leganza
Oh, wow. The H-Series looks interesting... May I ask why it was abandoned?
lack of motivation + got replaced by the D-Series arrow sign
Since I created the H-Series VMS mod the January 4 2021 and the D-Series arrow sign was put on the repo the January 11
Ah. Makes sense. Will we see arrow signs on the H-Series at some point, then?
Idk, if I ever make something like that for the H-Series it's probably going to be something like this :
Epic french van
yeah love them
wip?
Project from December 2020 that I'm going to finish yes.
ok

nice
Yess!! I was just looking for a new ambulance light bar mod!!
Mazda Xedos 6 lol
Epic
I'm making the first pack of decorative props for the game. It's props with no collisions that can be used in videos/screenshots/roleplay/...
So is it just going to be a rebadged I-Series with some extra tidbits or are you going to mess around with the bodywork a bit, too?
I messed with textures and model
Huh. Not bad.
Ya like it?
I do.
Hi all. We're doing a movie as a school project, and for the last scene we needed a car crash. Because obviously we couldn't do that for real, we thought that it could be made with BeamNG.drive, combined with lots of editing. Does anyone know of a good texture map mod with snowy mountain roads and cliffsides to fall off of? I tried already looking up, but couldn't find anything fitting.
it's not too snowy but check the automation test map which is in the game, there's some icy/slightly snowy roads on it in the mountain
Thanks, but I don't think it's snowy enough considering we filmed the rest of the movie IRL in the dead of winter in Finland :D
Seasons Pack has snowy maps
Mount Danger
finland and cliffs hmm lol, but yeah try the seasons pack suggested above
Mammoth Valley would be your best bet.
Yes a I4, I5 and V6
Neat
i need a mod for fps (if its a thing)
it's not a thing
ok
Always surprise everyone with your projects
.
Hey that's my job ;D
anyone know if ui apps can be made for a specific car, like if you spawn a plane, modded gauges come up?
What exactly are you making. I've seen so many things from edited maps or new maps, lightbars, skins and now new vehicles. I'm impressed
yes decorative props
mmm top fuel?
Making my RL car for the game, who else is interested in these lil things?
well if you finish it one day, yes
Pretty cool imo
Lol i would like to drive a smart car in beamNG
Oh yeah they're great fun and easy. Delivering pizza in an electric smart is the world's easiest job
and they are rwd, so they could drift
They could but you can't turn the ESC off (at least in 2020 models...)
You can with scissors and a screwdriver but you may have difficulties to put it back on
I'd like to shout out the person who made the Subaru BRZ mod. It was so fun doing a rally configuration for it on the brz sti concept chassis! I had a blast trying it on extreme testing on the rallycross track. Still squirrly because of rwd, but really fun once you upgrade all the stuff. What was a suitable track daily was made into a rally ready car and I really dig that level of customization capability in a mod.
@dusk dragon continue this pls that a cool addon
No, this one is definitely cancelled. But maybe I will make another one with a different design.
like this
yes
maybe later
with the trailer ???
the trailer ?
yeah it's a possibility
does anyone know any good tesla mods
tesla roadster in automation, its actually good if you give it a chance
Hello, a very specific question: is there a mod for a Mercedes-Benz W210 or W211?
not really
u building that mod?
Dragstwr
Looks promising
Yessir 💪
Nice
mud drag?
Is it possible to bring in some sort of anything from a site called stuner?
Stuner has usable models, but you would still need to hand make a Jbeam structure for the car to drive accurately (or at very least meshslap it on a similar vanilla car)
then there's the problem of licensing them, whoever made stuner might not like people using their models without permission.
there's my Arrow sign D-Series
Ok
this one
THX
have fun ^^
Yes
Thanks for the answer. I appreciate it. I think it would be a reasonably easy way to build say an s-chassis with the 15 front and bring in some bosozoku styling. Though a 10 year old can probably model bozo styles
god no it's not easy xD
or maybe you have 6 months ahead of you xD
I mean in terms of having a model in blender to work from.
mmmh yeah, blender is far from being the worst thing in Beamng modding, probably the easiest step
textures and jbeam are the real hell steps
It might take me that long to learn to code it all. I'm brand new
I see i have many steps to take. I should make a to do list to keep it in order.
you never made any mod ?
no no, 6 months is the regular time for a modder to make a Beamng car mod, for beginners it can take much more, 9 months/1 year/...
mhm
Yeah. It took me a day or two to get used to messing about the blender file. Still trying to split the body panels. Thanks for the heads up :) I'm also not a full time modder. So we shall see.
I think you should make a car part to start with jbeam
not a full vehicle
I'll try a wheel and tire!
well I think a spoiler or a interior props is probably esaier
easier
hell no
the jbeam of this things
well in fact it's the main component of the realistic feeling of beamng
me it was lightbar and it's still lightbars xD
well there's downforce, but it depend of how you're making your jbeam
can be just decorative
Yeah
Like the Miata mod (the guy who update it)
He made a spoiler without any nodes on it
It will need nodes to attach and then to deform, right?
still far better than this in any cases xD
not really you can put the spoiler on the trunk node group so it's going to be attached to the trunk, after the collisions are not going to be beautiful of course
What if I make a high poly tire for practice??
spoiler look like this, and this one is the ingame one, so ultra complex, you can do far more simple jbeam stuff
Beamng hate high poly
all the cars and props are low poly in Beamng
Which controllers i use to use the arrows?
the patterns key
it's written in the mod page
I wouldn't apply the tire to a car, I just want to hit it with things and see it deform. :3 also why are there beams holding the spoiler to the trunk that aren't where it is attatched?
Idk
well there's an image in the web mod page, idk if I have it on my pc
Ok
Where on the keyboard is that?
no you have to look in your controls options what is the key for you for this function
Like, wouldn't the spoiler only be attached to the trunk nodes at the mounting location?
the nodes structure
I can’t find the pattern
don't look exacty like the parts
in the vehicle section
Yes
i have it
here the numpad 0 it's the function you need to find
Hmmm. But the beams can affect forces right?
I don’t understand
the nodes structure is what the game use to make a link between the 3D model and the physics of the game
Ok
you see on my screenshot the function with numpad 0 ?
Yes
look for this function in your game, normally it's at the same place
But don't forces on nodes act along the beam vector/axis?
Ok
a node structure
is a lot of dots
linked together with beams
and with triangles
all of this allow the game to understand the 3D model
and how to react with it
so yeah all the forces are applied on the node structure
What should I press now
I probably should have mentioned i have a degree in mechanical engineering... so where I'm coming from is why the beams connect nodes from the spoiler to the mid base of the front of the trunk.
Huh
what ?
it's lower
What’s the name of the option
Toggle Lightbar Mode
and so ?
what's the key for it ?
so use alt + m in the game
well you press the same key
Maybe it is a super simplified beam structure . I guess I'm trying to see why those beams are there. There is no object connecting those beams.
It’s not working
beams not really look like the object you can see, they are here to give a realistic feeling to the game and adapted to the beamng engine
GOT IT
THX GOD

XD
LoL
what's cineva ?
have fun ^^ A lot of my other mods use this same system too ^^
is in romanian:somebody?
no
yes
Yes
ok
I asked if anyone is from Romania
I'm not from romania
Thx for helping me and sorry if I took your time to other things
ahah no problem, now you know how it work ^^
That, I get. I guess I have a bit to learn about beam structures and how they are simplified for beamNG. Can you show me the beam structure for the Formula car wing?
Yea
e cineva din romania?
you can see the beam structure yourself in the game
Not that I know of.
what?
the key is Ctrl + B when you control a car
b77
Yes. I would, but I am at work right now.
oh, sorry...
what formula wing ? the one on my screenshot ?
i did not want to press b77
here you can see the jbeam structure of the lightbar
Interesting.
here you can see the jbeam structure of the firetruck
The mod for a formula car
i don't have it
That one makes a lot more sense! Thank you!
I can see it is attached at less places here.
well it depend of a lot of things
but in fact
jbeam you really made them by testing a lot in game the behaviour it give to the part
That will take longer. But it makes sense.
like for example here with my traffic light : https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/794263641314164747/805814159609561088/BeamNG.drive_-_0.21.3.0.11175_-_RELEASE_-_x64_2021-02-01_15-57-10.mp4
it needed a lot of reinforcement beams
but you can see that only by testing it
and after some modification it worked quite well https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/793519806967447573/806190498959458345/BeamNG.drive_-_0.21.3.0.11175_-_RELEASE_-_x64_2021-02-02_16-52-12.mp4
Those help me understand that it needs to work in game.
of course
The only deformation models I've done have been in seimens NX so those are extremely high poly. Low poly and realistic is hard, but beam gets it done
well in fact it's the beam that do all the job in the deformation system
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/794263641314164747/810689285371592715/BeamNG.drive_-_0.21.4.0.11370_-_RELEASE_-_x64_2021-02-15_02-48-47.mp4 and with some triangles the collisions were really good at the end
I want to play with it and take it apart. Lol
They might need some higher strength values to be a bit more realistic. I'd say the poles are at least 1/2 as strong as the wooden ones?
I was going to ask, actually, is it possible to have an adjustable strength value?
At least for the base.
Inside the jbeam
How about different bases, then? With different strength values.
It's totally possible to change the strength value, but an update risk to create a shitty bug, so I can't really update it anymore
Ah, fair enough.
this bug
I'm really curious how updates mess up the mods. Like, I really would. Unless the update is modifying the node structure.
look like the files stocked in the cache can fuck it up, so if you install the update, the cache files are going to fuck up your new version
but it's a really strange bug
That's why you always clear cache.
never found the problem
and look like it can be repaired by moving a file in the mod
yeah sure, but go say to 6 years old that they have to clear cache...
It's 5 buttons and just some wait time. It really isn't all that hard...
Is clearing the cache and deleting the cache folder the same thing?
idk, i would clear your cache.....
You never faced a 6 years old with a pc
it's hard
Oh, I have. I've got a little brother.
good luck
and the only possibility to talk to him is with text messages
and now multiply this kid by 10
can most 6 year olds even read
that's how look like a modder situation when there's a little problem in his mod
are there any mods that add parts to tha man tgs agro truck
yeah I think so
but I don't got this mod
I know there's a lot of mods
Would like community ideas or just in general what you like and don't like about the bikes with just a picture
Are the front mud-guards removable?
And how about plate holders?
Don't worry about it.
coming
I could have sworn I saw a Vector light bar for the 200BX already??
Oh. I'm... A damn fool.
I'd love to see that.
The 2.0 version is ready for the Grand Marshal
Woah! Nice!!
what i dont like is i dont have it yet, what i like about it is it looks soooo cool💪 👍
what's the problem ?
not on the repo
normal, it take time to the in game repo to be updated
use the beamng websit
e
k
Civetta Bolide wheelie bar?
That's just so useless
The gas tank on the naked is visible from the bottom. That is my only qualm. But I must say there are more attractive front ends than that one. Maybe one from the fz1 would suit better
is there a mod that adds a ford model t or something
And this if you have a potato pc https://www.beamng.com/resources/1919-ford-model-t-touring.10459/
thanks
Np
fkuall
hello
anybody knows who was the original guy that made this mod, or where i can find him? i want to work on it a little and make it drive and look good again, once im done i would like to release in my server but i would like get permission from the guy if possible.
look like it's old as f
there's no more helicopters for Beamng
you can see videos from Carmighty and Muye
Hey guys. Why hasn’t anyone tried to recreate the map from nsfu2 in beam? I know it’s a huge huge undertaking but I’m sure some of the best map makers would be able to pull it off...
they've got helis
they are all outdated as f or private
because it need a shit ton of work and time, you don't make this in one week
so why are you asking questions like that if you have the response ? xD
But if we got a few people who loved the game we might be able to make a small area of the map first.
I mean I don’t
Somebody might have been crazy enough at some point
need to much time/work/and the number of people that know how to make maps is kind of limited
so the chances are tiny
Yeah, that sucks. I think if a few people who were really good in the editor started it they’d be able to make it happen.
well maybe
And just start with a tiiiny area
but in fact there's more interesting things to make for a map
You’re probably not wrong
especially since taking it from nsfu2 will probably cause some copyrights problem
Not for a game that dead
you never know
True
suck to work months on something and finally you have to post it on the forum and not the repo
Do people mod in groups?
I might try to get it started and hopefully find someone to help.
I already heard of a team I think yeah
but it's really rare
people often work alone
or they make collab but that's all
hard to make a team to work a lot on projects that take months
easier for small projects
for example I fixed the lightbar of war daddy
Yeah, working on anything that takes that long is rough. I just feel like there’s demand for it but people don’t know yet.
but people don’t know yet so a future demand ? xDDDDD
well after modding it's of course a game of offer and demand
Well I mean could you not see the YouTube headlines of “NSFU2 REMASTERED IN BEAM?!?!”
People would go wild if it were done properly
well yeah maybe
@dusk dragon i can't find it in my customs why ??
i can only found undercover one
glitched ???
bugs for me
i saw only undercover package (in custom menu)
lightbar lights on undercover package
invisible lightbar
definitely invisible ...
@austere furnace
It's the mod of War Daddy, not mine 🙂
ik
this is a cool mod but ik that hard to make thoses mods without bugs
i hope he unglitch it soon
did you cleared cache ?
Do u huys have a supra mod?
Does anyone suggest a fun stunt mod map? (not car jump arena or slant of death)
https://www.beamng.com/resources/crazyland.8518/ this maybe (?) id ont really use stunt maps
Uh... It shows up for me...
Although, I may be a version behind, now that I think about it.
where i can get that light bar
bruh i cant find any fun maps hhhhhhhhhhh
?
yeah i did that.
but i need something new.
cant find anything tho.
Also, I see a lot of people using vehicles and driving on maps that i cannot find anywhere.
theyre on the repo
but i cant find a ford focus there, now can i?
and something like this also dont be seen in the repo.
its old and outdated
yes, most of the real cars you see are garbage meshslaps, idk about that one, i think its just old
yeah probably.
sigh
@dusk dragon - You got your van stolen.
he got a new back cage
It does give credits, but stealing an entire thing isnt really fair.
credits dont matter if you dont ask
Eh yeah, I only did that because flare positioning is a pain in ass so I just deleted some and made it invisible lol
true
But, does anyone suggest a offroad or stunt map here?
They stole the Bulldog H-Series mod, too...
bruh
it does not work and im having some trouble deleting it
do i delete all of the sport stuff in the roamer?
for a mod i got
Who made this mod Range Rover Land Rover ? Is it possible to download it on forums?
No it's on russian websites - That's where I found it...
just a reminder, do not link to those virus ridden websites
also keep in mind that these mods are most likely stolen from their original creators 🙂
😔
I find it weird how people state the websites that post 'bad or stolen mods have viruses. They really don't, I use them all the time and have done for a very long time, even on other games years ago.
Sure when you have no idea what to click or check you get something but I'm very ontop of things and some of the best mods I got from weird sites.
better safe than sorry as we cannot moderate 3rd party sites
The dodgy thing with wom is their installer thing
Most people with their head screwed on can work out whats good and bad
If your using a site that comes with 'installers' your already in the wrong place....
most people here dont even know how to install from the forums
there are literally modders in this server who've had their mods redistributed without permissions.
yeah the exquisite is already on modsgaming after a day lol
Weird. I wanted to mention how Kemro was getting his mods stolen but my message got instantly deleted.
did you put a link
Well I don't really care don't worry xD
already got 7,360 downloads on the repo so not really a problem
the real problem is when unposted projects end on this websites
Vivace Cyberpunk style Police
This is really cool, will definitely check it out 👍🏻
Thx ^^
with custom siren too
That's some extreme eye candy here, awesome cyberpunk style man
And many games, mods, videos, music all of it gets redistributed on sites every day. Welcome to the internet. Its not something you can stop and protesting it doesn't stop it either.
For anything I make (not for beamng, since I haven't) but for other games or mods, I don't care who or where its downloaded. All I know is I've made something so good people wanna take it and use it too. That makes me feel good about what I've done.
And incase you say then 'Its stolen and you don't get credit'
I can pull out the files, data, from my own drive whenever, to prove I made it and handled it first of anyone. So I don't care.
To add to that if someone wanted their mod to be deleted on here they can always tag a mod and ask them to remove it, it's not uncommon to get a DM to remove a leaked private mod
After the biggest problem is not the one who leak the mods (since we can't stop them), but the ones who download them.
Hello!
Is this the idea to put mod suggestions
Also Jesus @dusk dragon I LOVE your type II ambo
That's kinda why I'm here actually
well not really suggestions, but more to talk about modding
Ah
Thx ^^
Rip could I PM you something then?
well like I always say, you can give me your idea (here if you want) but I can't promise AT ALL that I will make it
Alr
I have a type II in my town and i thought it'd be cool to see a skin based off it in beam
Alr I'll pm it to u
Neons
Alr sent
Anyone have the chisamurai
