Hey... anybody having texture issues with the pre-facelift Roamer mod our good friend waboll made? I don't know what mod causes it but my poor Roamer's front end seems to get mutilated with shading in wrong places on the hood and some red textures for the headlights.

its because to implement new features into the game, some code has to be changed
textures get updated and so on and so on
which means mods that use those features, textures, jbeam etc. have to be updated accordingly

well yeah but the mesh deforms according to the nodes/beams
if you have a super high poly mesh with a few nodes the deformation will start to do strange things
likewise with a super low poly mesh and high nodecount
well then fcked it up
altho 120k isnt terrible its not ideal
cause its difficult to fix it considering the amount of verts

wait the radiator mesh also has to be separate right, and does the radiator mesh match a jbeam file or a lua file in order for it to act like a radiator?
radiator doesn't need to be separate unless you want it to be able to move or fall off independently off the chassis
as far as properties are concerned its all jbeam side

alright so by my knowledge, I must separate the suspension forks from the mudcap and handle bars in order for just the forks to compress and not all 3 cause thats weird, but if i make it separate, would the fork be able to still move according to the handlebar? or must i add a "props" section with it too?

So I have this jbeam file called r6_body where it contains basically the bodywork of the bike, side fenders, chassis, bottom and front fenders, etc right, so they're all in that one file. I put a few of them into the slots section and they wont show?

Look at some jbeam code modding a dashboard is not that hard
where i can find the Jbeam code related to the dashboard of a car
In the game files, if you have steam it's in: C:Programs/Steam/steamapps/common/BeamNG.drive/content/vehicles.
There you can find the vehicle zips, and in those files should be their dashboard jbeams.
anyone know why, i loaded the template map and opened the editor. The terrain tool makes the editor crash every time I try to even select it. Doesn't happen in other maps. I'm just trying to start a new map, new terrain, copying an imported dae object (lidar data)

And there's no built in feature in-game to do oil pressure.
I think dummies made one for his bus, but it's a DIY function based on if the engine is on and stuff

My monitor is 4k n regardles of ingame resolution 1080p upto 4k that world editor menus are so small . Be good could if could enlarge it, make it a bit easier

ok, so, i finely succeeded to convert the useless oil pressure gauge to an turbo pressure gauge that display the amount of boost from 0 to 3 bar
i just need to modify the .dds dashboard file and gimp sucks a lot
The nvidia texture tools for photoshop is also a great choice, the newest version is great to work with FYI.

The cars that come default are really good
I just want mods that are as stable and consistent as the stock cars

Yea, I've taken that into consideration. I've based it off of a McLaren P1, and I've tried to keep the body somewhat similar so the chassis should still work. At least I hope so qwq

imo, heres what you should do. Lower the roof, extend the wheelbase from behind the doors, and shorten the overhangs.

well the model was showing in game before a while back, picked the project up again made a few changes and the model disappeared again
Anybody know why the illuminations wouldn't be showing up for the Realistic Police Lights mod by WarDaddyUSA? I suspect it's the Vector Lightbar Mod by Kemro that could be causing this, but I'm not sure. I don't have access to the game right now so I decided to check and see if anybody else here had the same problem.

I think i have identified the map file but its called map_lost_heaven.sds and I have no idea what that end extension is. My google searches say the file extension .sds is related to MIDI or something about audio. So I'm kinda confused here.

Well i think when u export the dae file, it also exports a .json file with some/all of the material colours into the game
Zonda told me that materials files are needed so that it can add reflected elements and lighting

Im looking into car mods rather than maps
since you seem to be going decent with the modelling, the only other major thing is jbeam editing. i suggest you take a look at the jbeam debugs ingame, (ctrl n, ctrl b, ctrl t, and such)and have a look at some vanilla jbeam files and see if you can figure it out, it's reasonably straightforward
You really donβt need to be advance to make a mod
Of course doing something from scratch would take some skill but doing editing is pretty easy

all you really need to know is basic jbeam and modeling knowlege
and now my motivation has skyrocketed

I've learned a shit ton by doing everything from scratch for the first time though

make a few practice models
and then you should be able to make simple facelifts/swaps etc
It's just the modelling that takes forever

Yes, I remember the case of somebody driving a K-Series on SSRB and reporting jittery panels and odd readings on their measurement systems. Iirc, it's due to the fact that the current engine is limited to too few decimal places to make accurate calculations that far away from the spawn.

I see your rear quarter panels are curved in... Maybe make the parts that curve in separate from the quarter panels and have those come out on either side when air brakes are applied?

It was using a 4k monitor with it and it was playable at high even with west coast
but I was also limited to the cpu cause I has a optiplex build but none the less the 1050 is capable of running beam with decent settings
My dirt cheap RX460 2gb runs at 1080p 60fps on medium so I would assume the 1050ti could at least do high
i have a freind with a 1050ti, he gets about 90 at 1080p high, but it all depends on your pc, software in the background, windows 10 magic

its where light will bend off surfaceses by its self and keep going intill it loses power or just donsent bounce off anymore
normal games dont have that and well with raytracing everything looks better and more relistic

I would not recommend raytracing without a 6000 series, or RTX and a proper GPU implementation of the raytracing. Otherwise, you're in for a laggy time.
