Judging he just showed a screenshot and said “WOW FREE MOTOGP BIKE FROL MODLAND” I’m gonna assume..
“Free leaked motogp” he said
same difference
Yeah but point is he can’t use the “i didn’t know” excuse lol
Someone pls make a military mod that includes the Zis-12
Beam rlly needs such mods
I found a mod for cannons which have less recoil compared to the other weapons found in beam so if someone can strap that onto an old soviet truck the I think it may be the best mod to play with
If beam is abt destruction then we need accurate weapons with different calibers
beamng is not great at weapons actually
bullets cannot penetrate jbeam structures
I mean they can... not realistically
at best they kinda go through while deforming whatever structure is hit
I know that the destruction with guns is not all accurate to irl
But someone could try
But it could take months maybe years cuz we would be rewriting the games code of damage models
And how it reacts with different materials
realistically it's not possible
the density jbeams structures are at right now is the best compromise between quality and density
more nodes means more weight and higher probability of inverting structures
I know but it doesn't have to be the best yet we just need something with war vehicles
Yeh but there's a different software which can change damage models
That's why we need something like that in beam using only beam's code
good luck doing it then
Stg, every time i see “we need”, it’s always an “i want”
What electric car mods do you all recommend
still didnt leak it
that was someone else i just found ts off modland for free
sum wrong with this one tho
anyone know where i can find a specific yellow vehicle from Kill Bill
“I didn’t commit a crime, the robber just gave me his duffel of cash, so I thought I could spend it”
Anyone have modes for realisitic cars on repistions??
I wish i had money
You don’t have 9 dollars? Really
i have 8..?
gas is expensive okay
is it possible to make a vehicle with more than 8 seats?
irl, yes, beamng also yes
ill pay next time
can anyone help me with mods
what happened?
what u need?
does anyone know why the 2000-2003 ford taurus mod specifically keeps spawning invisible for me? ive tried three seperate mods and it just will spawn invisible every single time. ive cleared cache and i dont know if there is any other recommendations but every other mod i have works. like i said ive tried legit three seperate websites/mod links and it doesnt work. unless i have to pay for it but i cant find that either
Did u get it for free
?
i found it for free yeah
bruh
Is it safe to say now? Judging by his recent messages
There’s no jumping to conclusions when the conclusion has already been reached
dawg i literally couldnt care less anymore, and why are you still replying to a message that was sent HOURS ago
Because thats how forums work. You respond when you see it, whenever you want.
he already replied to it once
is there any mod where you can raise the frame on a car
anyone know where to get the mannequins
best custom rim mod for career mode?
lift
kit
what car tho?
Hours. Its so much. Hours is like centuries. Such a long time
I am wondering. I have multiple race missions I have created that take place at night. Is there a way to make sure the AI cars turn their lights on? Should I spawn in the cars using a prefab and then somehow give them AI?
gng stop fighting over what i said yesterday i admitted i did wrong leave it there
Lmfao this is a mess
i admitted i was in the wrong thats that why we still arguing
what do you guys us to mod?
Anyone know the one mod where when you hover over a rim type it shows an actual picture of it
wheel preview
blender
paintdotnet
substance painter
vsc + jbeam plugin
nbe
Thought you can run it in normal too but idk
when i create a rally stage, and try to run through it, nothing happens and it freezes on the start position, where i can apply throttle and other stuff but the countdown never starts etc.
so how can this be fixed?
Can I find configs anywhere?
hi all, how do i get started with mission creation?
anyone know how to fix this
move the mod out of your mod folder and pack it by hand. When i have that issue beam likes to delete the mod all together. I never pack using the beam manager.
how do i pack it by hand
go in the main folder so if the mods called hicksnewbodysieera open that folder select erveything and if you use winrar right click hit add to archive then click zip in the menu.
if not using winrar and win 11 you can right clickand hit compress too and choose zip with the windows file manager but winrar is more reliable and faster imo
Winrar method

7zip format for anyone else who use it
is anyone working on an ibishu claria sedan?
it would be great to have a tow hitch and a turbo (:
What?
for reshade
Yeah their website
Nah. 90% of presets are over the top and shit. Download reshade from reshade.me and set it up yourself. I only have a few little settings on, low, as to just slightly change the look. Purely just for the driving experience, when i take photos its off, and i edit the photos in adobe lightroom
how to drive trains correctly what i mean is how to put on rail correctly
f11
click it move it with the arrows
You can't; the tracks are broken on that map.
hello
how come when I look up a car in beamng youtube, they have them but I can't see any cars in the mods page
Because they are either paid or on a 3rd party website witch is highly discouraged to get mods from 3rd party websites as there is no guarantee that the mods are safe or stolen.

Sorry but if you want mods look on the repository or the BeamNG Forms
there's more vehicles on the automation part of the repository it seems
Yes you can use those as well.
I don't really see any vehicles on the repository ngl
There are but they are fictional as irl branded vehicles can't be on the repo unless they changed it.
There are some on the forms tho
Its a hit or miss with automation. Just depends on what people make.
automation cars are way worse then "normal" mods
Automation takes a bunch of fiddling to get them to behave reasonably, especially if you're driving them hard. Stuff like Fillman's rigidity mod. There's a couple mods that started as automation but were rebuilt for Beam that are pretty solid though.
In my experience Automation cars tend to be both less and more durable than beam cars. Like the body tends to deform plastically (i.e. not spring back) but there seems to be a lot more elastic deformation in the suspension and chassis. This is a little anecdotal though, I just noticed that a big heavy wagon I had knocked together was much MUCH more durable and faster over african trails' rally stages than the safari rally miramar. That may have been down to the big lift and shitload of torque though...
this is all just discouraging for me
what is discouraging?
oh because you can't put real cars on the repo due to licensing issues, they're on the forums or in the #1102973298222051358 thread. There's literally a thread for this one sec.
https://www.beamng.com/threads/the-irl-cars-mod-list-for-v0-38-26-05-2026-update.102506/
There's also BlazerNG's Ko-Fi which has a bunch of stuff kicking around
atp I just would like to add more cars, and it seems I can't even do that because its either automation bad or more QoL mods in repo than cars
you can sort through the repo, there's a ton of good cars in the repo!
I have several modded cars from the repo in my game.
They are disabled rn because I'm not using them
There's "only" 419 land vehicle mods on the repo, and a bunch don't work anymore, but there's easily triple digit cars available lmao
yes, the old ones don't work great, it's kinda hit or miss if it's older than like 2023. But there's easily like 100-200 cars that work great
Yah I would filter it by recently updated. You would have better luck.
yeah, recently updated and work your way back
Ive got a question, is there like a time attack mod for the bx?
https://www.beamng.com/resources/js-hillclimb-time-attack-parts.33921/
google is your friend
no idea if they work properly lmaooo
Hello, can someone help me find motorcycle mods (I am French and new on the server)
Google is your best friend
ok tysm
Hey
@uncut plover i meant in general not specifically for that map
Only good one is the Hirochi Outlaw
You guys know if someone made a Mitsubishi 3000gt mod?
@ebon maple has one
Which gen?
All
Delicious
I want to start modding where should I start? Making maps?
-# ping me btw I suck at this
I recommend starting easy like not a lot of effort and if a lot of people like and download then you start putting effort @timid glade
Thats not really a good answer tbh
What do you want to learn. Mapping or modding? Different techniques.
From personal experience, mappings easier but can be more tedious. If you want to learn that, start here. Good tutorial. Can use the same method on many other maps https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JP21XcQcxVI
if you want to learn modding, start with a car part meshlaps https://www.beamng.com/threads/tutorial-making-a-custom-part-for-a-vanilla-car.82050/
i found a dude on fb that has a 3000gt and eclipse mod but you can only get it by getting into his discord server
i skipped to a random part of that mapping tutorial (deleting forest objects in the duplicated files of johnson valley) and already its not the best because one could just go ingame and marquee select across the map for a minute or two and delete it all
and that way the game is already open and the map is loaded and whatnot
Im trying to work 🥀
sozzy sozzy, not much we can do with somebody like that besides ping 😭
start by doing what you want to do
when you have an idea and feel motivated to do it... do it
I guess that's one way to put "be motivated"
if you want to make maps, i can give tips on how id start but again, very dependent on what u wanna make lol
my first mod ive ever made is probably one of the most ambitious ideas for a map 😂
but thats just me
1000hrs so far
Yeah not really. Its easier to do the way it was done in the tutorial imo.
Deleting everything off a map in world editor is a bit irritating
Yeah, I wanna make a smol (fictional) dirt racetrack
I got the layout done and it was WAY too much stuff, especially with my VERY limited Blender knowledge. Is the world editor easier? I had an idea to make a racetrack version of Utah (kind of like those street track mods on the forum)
hmm
im working in blender so im used to it
many would disagree its easier, maybe they right, i dont know i work this meshes
Use the original Utah map and Pop some barrier objects an stuff
umm i mean ripping the entire utah map wouldnt be allowed on repo so
would conflict with the game files
I mean make it into a mod and make it appear as a second map entirely
ehhh thats pretty ambitious tho and still likely not allowed
oh alr
why wouldnt you just make your own map with it? thats kinda the spirit
Maybe I'll try world editor this weekend
When I can get proper time
prolly better to talk in either dms or the moddingmaps channel, but if u want some tips on how to start i can help you out
Ok! DM me!
hey does anyone have any good suggestions for nascar mods?
There's two you can find here https://www.beamng.com/threads/the-irl-cars-mod-list-for-v0-38-26-05-2026-update.102506/
Anyone interested in an auto aiming explosive cannon prop for cars? https://www.beamng.com/resources/jonesing-cannon.38047/
we got aimbot mod in beamng before GTA IV
hey Where can I download the Big Monsters mod?
Are there any mods that make beam more realistic
Thanks

Is there a mod that adds mor engines to wentward that ACTUALLY works?
i need help finding a mod because for some reason i am REALLY bad at remembering the name of mods. theres this mod that adds like irl engines to cars. the reason i remember it is cuz it gave the bolide a bunch of ferrari v8s and both a lambo and ferrari v12, but for the life of me i cant find it

I rate jdm/japanese
Does anybody know if there’s a mod out there that gives the 200BX AWD without having to change the whole body?
I’ve only found one mod that has AWD but it’s a gambler500 off road mod and it requires a heavily modified body
I think thats the only current one that works. But there have been some others in the past. IIRC DPMP had one.
Hi. I have a question
When I mirror things they don’t always mirror over the X axis and they sometimes go to very weird places
#modding-general I guess. 👍
It's fine. I told you wrong on DM lol
wow aromic good mod
so this is like development screens?
kinda, read the pinned post 🙂
aha, ok thenn
Development channel for third-party addons.
nah i just realised #714429950765301791 is more adequate, you can post screens there

someone needs to invite dean wang
Oof that is one why to go about it
i'd invite but he might punch all the walls down 😅
nah he's too high to do much of anything these days
why do we have a modding channel when we cant post pictures
You can send in other channels
@midnight glacier
its for code modding only🙂
no
Idk I guess this is more for discussion and the other one is for showing stuff
should i do a silhoette bodykit for my nissan cefiro
i know its not the same yea they were done
just thought it might be cool
has the world editor 2.0 gone anywhere yet? i remember making maps for this game and getting really frustrated at the normal editor and the constant hoops i had to jump through to get minor things working
i havent installed the game in ages
Wip version of it is in the game
i know, im asking if its in a usable state yet
is it any easier to use than the old one?
It's hard to tell imo
New one is more advanced
But easy of use? For me really similar
I'm just BeamNG boomer and I still using old one a lot
I'm more used to the UI of the old one but the new one has a lot more features
kthx
Do note the new one is experimental
So unforseen issues may occur.
I hope more mods for real life cars come soon
I hope more mods for real life cars come soon
@latent ivy im making a nissan cefiro ^^
rb20 time boiii
Ye ye
@shell oriole Should i do a silhouette bodykit?
Its probably not the same era but still
I dont think it has even lmao
Ooohhh
theres a sick build IRL
Maybe r31 instead?
which gen cefiro are you making?
Yea
A31
P_enta is doung the whole model and im doing engines and exhausts
Bodykits too
oh
?
i didnt know he was involved
Whats wrong
im ok with it dont get me wrong
Hes really nice
i just tought you were doing the whole work thats it
there was a cefiro modd
Oh nooo
but it was kinda shite
Oh
it wasnt a shidd meshslap , quite good actually
Does that mean i cant do it?
Ive cancelled my other project too
Because of the fein
you can, it should be better
whats up with that?
mod developmentfor this game is extraordinarily slow
It's more that it's quite complex and long
shouldnt be
Yeah, essentially you can pump out mods using stolen meshes slapped onto GM/Bolide Jbeam quite easily
But that doesn't really add anything to the game
Making good mods takes a while, because making cars for beam is fairly long and complex, and I don't see how it could be made majorly easier
documentation for new users and more indepth than it currently is would help
^
im aware thats already being worked on
It would help more people get into it for sure
pro modders, i have a question if you join 2 meshes will it be a nightmare to texture?
Mostly decent tutorials, that go through the basics.
im trying to make headlights based on the s13 brick headlights
And drill stuff into people's head, like how NBE's node naming is terribad, don't lean on NBE to make jbeam.
Making good mods takes a while, because making cars for beam is fairly long and complex, and I don't see how it could be made majorly easier
@calm hinge well looks like the cefiro is gonna be complex then
Model is being made from scratch
Documentation for dummies (and I mean really beginner-friendly) would definetly hook me into modding
I even have several ideas but as a student I'm short on time and moding really osn't appealing to me rn
We're revamping documentation, so any suggestions or questions are welcome 🙂
it'd just be nice to actually see some progress instead of repeated promises and wiki lockings
however small
dummiesman wrote a good one a long time ago that's mostly still up to date too
I can totally see it being used in official documentation
it'd just be nice to actually see some progress instead of repeated promises and wiki lockings
@thorny yoke sorry for the delays but there is a lot of behind the scenes work that needs to happen before we can proceed
well at least it's good to know it's not abandoned completely
it's simple but it shows a few steps
Is anyone aware of a Haztec Economax siren pack available??
leelooooo
bruh i have a node typed wrong in a huge jbeam file, is there a way to find out which one is incorrect when it errors in beamng
It should say the line in the error message in the colsole (~ key by default)
it just said vy node not found, i had to look through the whole file for it
VY node not found
Means that your flexbody doesn't have enough nodes to "attach to", or the node structure isn't 3D enough
You don't need a node named VY
Lol
are there any european trailers yet?
Semi trailers or car trailers?
semi trailers, trying to find something that'd fit with the man tgs
could be a car trailer too honestly
i know the creator of the man tgs is working on a european trailer but it isnt even available yet
could be a tanker, normal box trailer, even a flatbed
Your best bet is to wait for it most likely or make one yourself
Trailers are fairly good way to start with vehicle creation
They tend to be less complex structure wise
oof
And you don't have to worry about powertrain stuff
I technically have EU-ish single axle utility box car trailer, but that still needs some work
@harsh coyote it was one beam that was connecting to a node that didnt exist so it errored
Beams have nothing to do with VY node errors tho
Unless you're talking about missing beam target node error
And you happened to name a node VY
arent vy and vx node not found errors just the result of too few nodes assigned to a flexbody
You can have 1000 nodes assigned to a flexbody and still get an error
hm
For example when all of the nodes are in a single line
Node structure has to be 3D
You need at least 3 nodes
They can be a real pain when working with exhausts
Theres a reason most exhausts have flexbody helper nodes
bruh
a beam was connectiing from one node to another that was misspelled and it said "something error mesh something: VY node not found"
VY node
i dont get what youre arguing
i litearlly said an error that was happening
and this dude is like "no youre wrong"
VY node error means that it doesn't have enough nodes in a group to triangulate things to make the mesh work properly
And it doesn't have anything to do with beams
it was an error that came up because a beam had an incorrect node
Thats not a VY node error then
then why did it say vy error
Maybe you mis read "failed to get node positions"?
Which sometimes shows up when a vehicle fails to load due to an error.
Because yeah, beams have nothing to do with a VY node error.
are there mods for stronger trailer connections?? vanilla beamng just disconnects when you hit a bump :/
No?
I have to hit a trailer hard to rip it off
i mean you can just manually couple them with nodegrabber
What is the tool for jbeams?
The latter
in the beamng game folder it will be at BeamNG.drive/utils/editor
its junk
just use notepad++ and be chad
real jbummers use notepad-- and blender coordinates
damn right
i use default notepad
yeah but you use smart uv so that makes up for it i guess
yes
So much flexing XD
Real modders use notepad++ and guess node locations
you guys set node locations?
Me jbeaming
Uh I'll set that to 5
explodes
5000000
fine
i just use blender to grab node positions
Real modders use notepad++ and guess node locations
@trim gulch thats just guessing lmao
everytime need to reload the car in game haha
Yes
guessing is chad
using NBEditor is messy and adds way too many unnecessary coordinates to jbeam
down to like 8 decimal places or something stupid
Jokes aside I do use blender coordinates sometimes
But often round them
Unless working on something precise, like the licence plate on my lifted hopper
Jokes aside I do use blender coordinates sometimes
@trim gulch Yes but no
must be always bruh
yeah like 3.31998 rounded to 3.32
all i use NBEditor for is adding beams to existing structures as its easier to visualise what im doing
i've heard NBE but dk
I guessed at first, but now I usually use blender for initial node coordinates
i've never gotten anywhere with guessing lol
nbe is ok for moving things around but its so broken, that you can barely do it right
i mean it was made in like 2014 and still uses hubwheels and scalebeam so
true lol
Who else just uses that thing to see the node names because a) the amount of nodes in beam gives you diarrhea or b) it caused an instability in beam and can't see it
yes
what i usually do for putting parts on a car that shouldn't have them (the doors on my tograc gambler for an example) and try to find the same node referenced in the jbeam connecthing the piece to the body then finding a similar node on the car i'm putting it on
I am getting a lot of hate, and sort of Bashing for the Sbr Hybrid mod, yes i understand that someone done it before, but my one basically ports over the code from the Vivace hybrid.
it's kind of, hurtful to see personal attacks in dm's from one particular user.
but the original author left a great review on the modpage, which is the right thing to do.
But to bash someone because they done something that someone else done before?
thats low
it really is.
Such behavior is definitely uncalled for, please report.
seems like it's becoming more often.
I've seen people constantly been told "oh X has already made this mod"
its dumb and discouraging, beamng isnt a competition of modders so honestly I wish people would stfu with that stuff.
also seen a few negative reviews floating around lately with the "oh this person did it better"
same thing with me making my crx covet :/
Yes
even if, a modder has been modding for a long time still gets treated like they are like 13
i am 21, i research and implement ideas into BeamNG
i am a qualified mechanic like.
so i know a bit of what i am doing
I feel ya
Exactly. Just because somebody made something it doesn't mean that you can't try your best
As i stated in community screenshots
everyones idea and or vision is unique to them
beamng community is just very forceful and it sucks
"oh, you need to make the doors longer"
But then again we're speaking about acommunity, so by deffinition it will have toxic people. Plus, you're looking at the community of a car game, meaning the average fan would be the 13 yp vroom vroom lol type of person
"oh, you need to make the doors longer"
Like bro, learn bloody blender and make the yourself
ppl act like everything needs to closely replicate whatever you're basing your mod off of
community in general is just mostly annoying people, they lack the ability to present feedback properly
which is why I’m taking a break from repo mods
hey guys what is your favorite car mod?
@queen vapor's aventadope lp420
a ues the pinnacle of engineering
the soriad wendover is pretty good too
looking for some new fun mods
i recommend you check those out /s
thanks!
I thought the 800 sedan was outdated?
it is
there's a hotfix in the thread
the hotfix kinda breaks the defualt etk suspension
so i couldnt do any of the drivers training scenarios with the etk in it
because it would instantly say i crashed because the suspension broke
has anyone fixed the i-series wagon yet?
if so i will
i know exactly what the problem is and it should be a reasonably easy fix
it should take no more than 5 mins tbh
yeah
since no remodeling is required
i'll give it a crack
gl
How to have engine sound more basslike, but also pitched lower?
nevermind i figured it out
@quiet ermine im making a 2.0 version of it
its taking time cuz im lazy
and waiting for ck to finish 1 thing
make it before that carbon copy gets too popular
i dont care honestly
im making all mods for myself
releaseing it only so people can have fun too lol
idc if they wont be popular
but i mean etkw is at over 100k downloads anyway so
Waboll mod best mod because reasons 😂
im making all mods for myself
@cloud shale same tbh
and i don't release any of them bc i feel like i'm doing nobody is intrested in lol
smaller ones i keep for myself too
Plz gib mods but I'm not begging 🤔
If something is private, that means its not for public use
i legit just spent an hour trying to figure out why something wasnt working and it turns out i was missing a bracket on the first line
Relatable
god that happens all the time
tho if i get the "error in vehicle" message i just automatically assume it's a bracket
oh, the worst with modding for me was messing with something for an hour only to find out it wasn't working because i was saving with the wrong encoding
welp, apparently i got flagged for "offensive language," but what i was going to say is i felt like an absolute... baka after spending so much time trying every single bugfix i knew, only to find it was the most obvious thing
modding is simultaneously the most rewarding and frustrating thing
imagine being able to mod
imagine not getting stuck for 2 days and counting on some ugly brick headlights because materials dot jason doesnt cooperate
imagine all the things we could do instead of modding
All I can do is 3d model a car that's for rendering
always time to learn(I say after never learning to mod beam)
Someone know if the "Fiat multipla" (the ugliest car in the world) is allready on BeamNG mods ?
no
hm
I allready found some 3D model of this ugly car ^^
that was offensive
multipla isn't ugly tbh
it's quirky and interesting
if multipla isnt ugly tino isnt ugly
tino was never ugly
twingo is eudm legend
almera tino is awesome
Who here knows how to use ReShade?
tech tip don't
why it is it hard to use or something?
because it looks awful lol
I just want to mess with some lighting settings and that's the only thing people tell me I can do that with
I used MuYe's preset (from YouTube) and it looked the same.
I still don't exactly know how that works either
Indeed, you can mess around in the the "PostFX" tab under Graphics, there are plenty of things to modify
oh okay then
Reshade is a fantastic tool, most people just use it in the worst ways so it gets a bad rap
way more powerful than postfx
So is there a way to get light rays and increase the contrast a tiny bit?
Absolutely
You can increase the contrast exactly as much as you want to, it's a decimal value, it's just that too many people think that max contrast looks best
no a bit of contrast and some saturation is all i want
I want light rays as well but that's PostFX menu
Reshade and the Lightroom shader (one of its stock ones iirc) should sort you then
The contrast slider on that is what I use
But you can, do both of those in the post fx tab..
At least, last i remember
I certainly know there's light rays at least
Reshade’s implementation looks better to me personally
And a lot of things that I’d normally do in lightroom with real photos can be done there, like adding a touch of noise and having good control over the colour balance
But it's complicated and adds a good bit of unneccesarry overhead for the simple 2 things he was trying to do
complicated to get working i mean. Like, install and such.
I suppose, but there's no harm in giving it a go
if you're exploring graphics tweak options then reshade is a no-brainer, and chances are they aren't just looking to tweak beam's graphics
Why don’t people usually upload real life cars to the repository? I don’t like automation cars.
It’s copyright infringement meaning the devs don’t wanna be liable for any lawsuits from auto makers
they need permission from the manufacturer and all involved parties
hence rebadge or something like the Oldsmobile full-size which has base version with a forum addon
on the website forums it's ok but for a steam game BeamNG would have to get licenses
It’s mainly different afaik due to the approval process involved with repo but don’t quote me on that
Basically a dev can't stop you from doing whatever you want to their game and sharing it on the web, but for them to "endorse" it by having it on their own website, it's just safer to avoid licenced stuff
Yeah
However, there are tons of licensed cars on the automation repo
Yeah just assumed there is contractual obligations to allow all automation content but idk
Is it because automation vehicles have to many differences vs real life counterparts. Percentage difference between automation an real thing because some look close but not right where as scratch built beam cars have much better resemblence so infringe on trademark?
i don't think so
putting a chevy badge on a grand marshal can get the mod taken down
internet copyright law is a minefield in germany and with the disastrous EU copyright reform... it wont get any better.
there was one iirc
uh
there is the node/beam editor which most people only use for visualisation or stuff like adding tris/beams
not useful for actually creating much
how i would do it is mess around with stuff in notepad++ and then reload the jbeam in NBE
@latent ivy
I just use ingame node/beam diaplay combined with notepad++, kinda tedious but works well enough
what you could also do is use the NB visualiser/export programs to get the node positions, then just fill them in manually to the JBEAM to avoid syntac errors ect
yes
just refresh ingame
even tho it takes like 30s each refresh
NBE barely opens half of jbeam files now its so outdated
and just get node positions from blender
i might start jbeaning @twin stump's etk fen 30th generation and make a tutorial vid out of it or something
There is NBE, but it honestly sucks.
Its okay for jbeaming something like a box, but anything more complicated gets confusing quick
@ancient lagoon epic. Tho if you have finals to work on, study that lol
@ancient lagoon delet thos mods and reset time goes 2s
@twin stump ye will wait until after my last exam which is on 22nd or something
@trim gulch but then i cant have thos mods
agree
@latent ivy the blender exporter works perfectly fine on 2.8
god this discord sucks
cant post an image or link in thsic hannel
cant post an image or link in thsic hannel
@random cosmos it should let you now
try imgur or discord ones, please
I've enabled previews for whitelisted URLs as well
theres a lot of seemingly pointless changes but its nice once you get the hang of it
luckily by the time i actually started using blender 2.8 was already out so i didn't have to relearn anything
lots of existing documentation is outdated tho
like how remove doubles became merge by distance
the transition from 2.7 really wasn't too bad, just have to keep the old key set since I find the new one stupid (mouse clicks and stuff)
I quite like 2.8, but yea there are some niggly bits that annoy me
the only thing i dont like is how much extra work it is to display a texture quickly for previewing uv maps
Imagine knowing how to do that and not having lettering appear upside down in beam every time
@ancient lagoon to get viewport textures now u need To apply a texture to material via the shader editor window thing
you have to add it through the shader editor
drag it in like any other ui element
add an image texture, plug it into base color
oh and make sure "use nodes" is enabled
too much work
the only thing i dont like is how much extra work it is to display a texture quickly for previewing uv maps
Its very easy bruh
Takes like 5 seconds
You need to go to material tab
And there will be color thing
Click on the dot on it
And there will be image texture option
And no need for nodes
Ez
@ancient lagoon
ive sent pic in #modding-general
yeah there's no need for nodes
annoying that textures from 2.7 don't carry over though
like importing a 2.7 blend file doesn't have the textures applied when you open it
you still have to manually re assign them
yez
a mod works alright
I change some things, to improve optimization:
I feel like theres a looong ranaming session in front of me
that moment when you accidentally make a metallic "NO_TEXTURE"
Lmao
best i achieved once was normalmapped no_texture
It'd be cool if someone made a replica of the Lineas-Montlehery racetrack.
What program should I use for texturing
paint(dot)net, GIMP, photoshop, substance painter etc are all common programs
paint(dot)net, GIMP, photoshop, substance painter etc are all common programs
@deft kite Thanks!
Also is the Jbeam tool on the forums outdated?
NBE works but isn't reccomended by most experienced jbeamers.
Same for the blender exporter
They can be used for some things, but I heavily recommend beginners to start w/o using those tools, and use notepad++ or something similar.
Thanks
Because they tend to create really messy jbeam that's hard to finetune
Box tutorial :P
I'll check it out. Does anyone know the suspension configuration of the BMW E38 chassis 7 Series?
I'm fixing one of Smouk2's screwball mods
I just use nbe to visualize stuff sometimes.
I'm going to start modding. I'm scared because I have no experience at all and I'm not sure how I'm going to do.
dont worry literally every modder started off that way
I have so many ideas, but I want to make them awesome. But, that also means that I have to take my time and devote time. I also have to learn about the software that I downloaded to make the mod, which takes time. I'm committed and I have to stay committed.
I feel you, man. I used to be like you back in 2016

@crisp mantle my advice to get started is to start small. the worst thing you can do is begin with something too big. it's easy to get into the trap of having big ideas, working on it, and never getting it to the point in your head. I did it alot when i was getting started...
if you start small you can focus on the skills you need to make the big stuff good.
Ik this is a very long shot open ended question but how do I get into modding for Beamng
what type of modding seems interesting to you? You can create cars, objects, skins, maps, plugins. Figuring out what direction you want to go will help point towards resources and such.
Try learning Blender first. If you find it interesting/engaging you can try exporting your creations to collada (.dae) and loading them as objects in the level editor
I came to BeamNG already having used Blender for some years, and started by making small modifications to levels (easiest place to start)
once I had enough confidence I made my own small level and released it on the forums
then I made some simple props and jbeamed them (dumpster, light pole)
went on to more advanced props like propane tank and ragdoll crash test dummy, and finally attempted a vehicle after several months of modding
^ that and new carparts/addons like bodykits, bumpers, spoilers, roofracks etc but mitch's suggestion will likely teach you more 😄
I also have some ideas but I'm afraid I just don't have time for it unfortunately (had the idea of making a twin engine hopper like the Suzuki Escudo)
I do have some experience with blender and I have tried making a car but its so hard I gave up hope lol... I can make other objects tho so I might wanna start with props...
Props, especially with breakable/hinged parts are good way to get into the basics of making jbeam IMHO
Better than most of the stuff I see people doing with added parts 😛
99% of how not to fail at something is setting achievable goals
dont try and make "x" vehicle and promise a bunch of stuff
just start with the basics
how do i apply color changing gauge for other cars like sunburst
logic works only for digital gauge?
cuz sunburst seems to be half digital half analog
This is the next hotwheel I will be making for the HotWheels mod pack I'm making
This one will be hard
I've made the model for the Midas Monkey
And shout out to BryceSTP for doing the j beam and file sorting for me!
@brave olive easy money right
does anyone know where BeamNG's music files are? The Light Runner theme in particular
I want to integrate it into my radio code but.. i have no clue where the sound file is
I guess it could be in Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\content\audio
but all the files in there are locked
they need a password in winrar to open them
Who can help me with a hydro issue?
Whats the issue?
Basically reversing the hydros. I know how they work, but I cant get them to reverse. Making an XJ220.
I can get them to go down, then they flop like a fish and cant return back up.
Make sure they're not breaking
They arent. Increased strength on nodes
I think its just the jbeam is colliding with other parts of the car
because the hood likes to implode
let me move some nodes around brb
What
Are the mods virus checked?
Yes, there is a system in place to do a quick scan on them
Cool
I'm planning about buying the game before summer, i got my t150 pro a week ago
Steam summer sale starts in 5 days
Does anyone know if beamng will be on sale?
It isnt that expensive in the first place 😉
it usually goes on sale with all major sales
True
so it most likely will go on sale at the summer sale
Probaly 25%
We cannot give info about future sales, but I can suggest you to check the price chart on steamdb.info to get a rough idea 🙂
That's fine, and thanks :)
I may have asked here already some time ago, but does anyone know where the Lightrunner mode's music sound file is in Beam's folder? I would like to integrate the music into my car mod's radio system but I have no clue what the file path is
newer engine noises aren't available in the game files so its probably similar
newer engine noises? as in vivace?
https://imgur.com/a/jQfYfOP everything added after these
a quick look through the audio folder shows that the light runner music isn't there
wait, is there even a v10 in the vanilla content?
no
yeah i dont see such either
why they would call it L beats me as well
makes sense. at first I though "L6" mean't 90 degrees V6
according to wikipedia its just an abbreviation for an inline 6
TIL
um
how do i tell where i missed something in jbeam
i know i forgot like a abracket or comma but how do i find which line its on
console isn't being helpful
afaik you cant know you gotta look for it
if im wrong someone tell me, it would be very helpful
afaik you're right sadly
well, doesn't the console tell you what's broken when you have a fatal error?
i remember in the old console it would say something about what line it was on
or was that somethiing else
you can still open the old console with shift+`
newer engine noises aren't available in the game files so its probably similar
@molten bough so it's somehow hidden?
yeah
i looked in the game engine zip and i there is a music folder however it only has 1 file and i'm pretty sure its not it
how do i tell where i missed something in jbeam
@fossil ore open the jbeam in BNE, it will give a line but its probably not the line it says and is on a line around the line it says
yeah but at the same time bne will ruin your jbeam by possibly adding a bunch of errors lol
hi guys how i can replace car sound ?
unless if the engine node is outdated u need to use an sbeam which is not recommended
great my message got deleted
bot doesnt like things that look like a link 😐
Known issue we're trying to fix, sorry about the annoyance in the mean time 🙂
probably never now that you've pinged him lol
As with all of the audio now, we're using the FMOD middleware for implementation as it gives us a lot more control.
We are working on a template system which will then allow you peeps to add/change the audio for your own mods.... as I say, "we are working on" .... it's not there yet.....
career mode when?
Interestin
there was never going to be a crown vic update in the first place
I guess I'll have to go back to figuring out how i can get a sound clip of a toyota tundra stopping 10 seconds between 30 rev ranges 😅
I tried with only five....it did not end well
career mode when?
@wintry axle working on it. a super early, buggy, alpha (feature-incomplete), subject-to-many-changes version will begin testing internally this summer. we'll see how it goes from there 🙂 can't say much more than that
Let them make the quality control on their work which is require your patience
But what actually would career mode be? Would you have to do some missions and buy cars from money you earned or something?
buy, repair and sell cars... drive around, participate in activities, etc. there's not going to be a major plot or storyline (like you would expect in GTA or other AAA games), as we don't have the resources to tackle a gigantic task like that
how exactly will the repairing cars bit work
Seems legit
Now i need to start saving money for a time machine bc this kind of a project will take years to complete
Interesting
how exactly will the repairing cars bit work
@latent ivy career's repair and damage will have to be implemented in a more simplified way than what most of us wished. there's some non-obvious unavoidable technical constraints that are unique to our physics... so we're trying to come up with the best possible alternative
we've implemented and then discarded several approaches already. currently working on another one, we'll see how it pans out. i'm afraid i can't be any more specific, since this is all subject to change
As long as we keep damages in-between... Well in-between whatever im happy lol
As long as we keep damages in-between... Well in-between whatever im happy lol
@twin stump how that will work is still uncertain atm
I'm just glad you're trying to get something working at least!
heh yeah, the amount of work happening behind the curtains is unbelievable (if you look merely at the outcome, from the outside)
I can only imagine
especially since BeamNG is essentially running on its own engine at this point because it's so different from T3D from what I've heard
I still@need help in #modding-general
It would be cool if a modmaker could develop software to convert GTA 5 car mods into beamng mods because GTA car mods are more numerous and have much better textures.
its not that easy I'm afraid
TBH that's what a lot of mods on "russian" sites are.
GTA 5 > BeamNG converter
😂
Models from various sources (often the same as those GTA mods), slapped onto whatever vanilla jbeam fits best
Probably one of the most jank suggestions I've ever heard
That would be an absolute nightmare to develop and would lead to nothing but rubbish
sounds familiar @dreamy wagon
🤔
Unlike a certain exporter, that would certainly lead to legal issues
That's already possible through some extensive converting stuff.
However why do so?
"already possible"
It usually involves "gluing a model" onto a barely modified vanilla jbeam
basically we call that process
"meshslapping"
Hello. I'm currently looking for a mod creator to make two replicas of the ingolstadt firm, pm me if you can do it.
and I don't know a damn thing about modding.
ah yes let me spend months of my life doing something for you
All I'm asking is to take two vehicles from FH4 and put it in beamng.
FH4 vehicles are encrypted afaik
they'd still need to be imported from somewhere
mesh will need work
textures would need to be converted
you'd have to change a lot of stuff in .jbeam files
you'll need a new Jbeam for it (doing a proper one can take months by itself)
polish all that
make configs
you get it. modding takes time and I don't believe anyone here would want to do that for you, for free, and spend months of their life making a mod for you.
Simply my 2 cents
I can pay for that
your best bet would be to learn and not to throw your money at someone to do it for you
making stuff yourself is rewarding both in skill and satisfaction
It would be cool if a modmaker could develop software to convert GTA 5 car mods into beamng mods because GTA car mods are more numerous and have much better textures.
I personally dont agree. I think instead of focusing on pirating other peoples work, mod makers should focus on creating their own amazing ideas to bring to life 😀
from russia with love
from russia with love
(and don't forget the pirated games to go with the love)
Well gta cars have bleh interior
low poly meshes for suspension, engines and underbody
bleh
Flatout 2 best gaem
Both the original and 2 have fully animated suspension
Flatout 3 best gaem
Unless you're referring to ultimate carnage
Die
UC is even more polished 2, but i was talking about the lump of crap 3 that wasnt even made by bugbear
Exactly
Non bugbear flatouts are garbage
They kinda dropped the ball a bit with wreckfest though
Definitely needs more polish
3 doesnt exist :)))))
flatout 3 isn't a real game
Tbh 1, 2, UC and wreckfest are by far the ultimate arcade car game, handling, damage and gameplay
flatout is amazening
@twin stump 3
@cyan depot 3
what about Burnout Paradise Remastered guys?
I have fond memories of Project Gotham Racing, No idea if it still holds up?
And TDU was good too
PGR4 👍
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
@humble kindle i hat to be that guy but you spelled legit wrong. ligit
hat
nevermind you're excused for your sins
does anybody knows if there's a D20 mod for beamng?
a what
d20 mod
Dh hyper bolide ?
idk if it still works
Some guy on reddit had posted a link, just type beamng dh hyper bolide and click on the reddit link
Then I don't know, might have been taken down
They are, if you make them to scale
Hi Brett
Hey
what do you guys use to edit vehicles
because whenever i do i get told i cant save because its being used by another process
don't make edits to cars in zip files
use the mod folder
and unpack the mods using the in game repo
Does anyone know of any cars with a rotary engine?
I would love to tune one up kind of like rob dahm with his rx7
The Satsuma 210
thanks, is there anything newer? something like an rx7 or something from the 90s/2000s?
the chisai has a rotary engine
There's an RX7 on the forums
I have no idea if it's still working though
yeah i know but it's not really that powerfull, sorry for being a bit picky but i was hoping that there would be something like an rx7 or just something with an engine that can get a lot of power (responding to dazy)
there is an fd rx7 on the forums somewhere
it's not amazing but at the same time it's not a meshslap either
it has millions of tuning options lol
that sounds good, i'll try to find it
that RX7 is pretty lazily made
like i said, it's not amazing
a lot of it comes across buggy and unfinished
ok thank you
now i need to figure out how to install it from the site lol, i almost only install mods from the repository
i know, shame on me
uhh
how do i make it appear ingame
go there first
I used to always use the old fashion way to install mods, but I became lazy and went to the repo lmao, I still use it sometimes when wifi is bad.
i do both cause there are a lot of forum mods that aren't on the repo
Yeah, such as the Trueno mod.
ive never used the ingame mod downloader
i cant find any ford explorer mods online, are there even any?
if there are, they're most likely low-effort roamer meshslaps
i'd just use the roamer tbh
Roamer is just bigger explorer
We don't have anything in the midsize truck/suv segment really
We don't have anything in the midsize truck/suv segment really
which is a goddamn tragedy
seems like inertia's working on something tho
nope, the d15 is a fullsize pickup truck
according to american classifications
the d35 isn't any larger than the d15, it's just in a heavier weight class
size class and weight class are different
does the wheelbase change with different frames?
i've not used the D series in so long lol
it does yes
well
the standard frame and the heavy duty standard frame are the same wheelbase
obviously the extended frame is longer
what frame does the D35 use
all d-levels come in all lengths
Depends on which cab/bed configuration you use @native zealot
but wheelbase doesn't affect the d-series' size class either
wtf lol
Iirc smallest D35 uses a single cab longbed
even the d10 is still a full size suv
Biggest one is a crew cab longbed iirc
However you can get a crew cab D15 as well
Only frame related difference between D15 and D25/35 is that D25/35 use heavy duty frame
Which is stiffer
You have a normal and heavy duty variant of each frame
Maybe apart from the frames for bronco style things
the d25 doesn't use a heavy duty frame, just a solid front axle
people would say it was weird if there werent
think of them as custom parts, either cut down D35 frames or C frames with a bunch of plates welded in to box them up
If I had the funds I've tossed around the idea of a bronco on a 350 chassis with a 7.3 diesel
Either IDI turbo or powerstroke
Not sure which one lol
Might make that for my bronco mod eventually
40 different d series frames lmao
think of them as custom parts, either cut down D35 frames or C frames with a bunch of plates welded in to box them up
@ornate valve doesn't the marauder use a heavy duty short frame?
It does, though techincally its not a D-Series
Oh yeah and the Zeta uses the HD frame too
And the D30 exists using the HD ext short frame
so in that regard is the heavy short frame still considered aftermarket?
any of them could be really. Truck comes with the frame? factory. If you swap it in you could call it either. "headcanon"
i need motorbike mods for my content
oh look another turk
there was one motorbike mod on the forums as far as i know but i couldn't find it
it's been taken down
iirc it was removed because the author wanted it gone after he was banned
who was the author
probably the same guy as the DH supergnat
smash chans still can use mods https://youtu.be/HTSGBua5tMk

Welcome back to Traffic Crashes #26 - BeamNG DRIVE!
If you had fun, please Like / Share / Comment below! Don’t forget to subscribe too!
Here is my upload schedule: New video every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
6 hours of recor...
this mods looking so beatiful
yeah those are probably meshslaps using that as a jbeam base
stolen models and whatnot
i hope devs give us surprise gift (motorbike and helicopters)
doubt
not happening lol
i am obsessed with beamng drive and my channel i can play only three games beamng drive Richard Burns Rally and fight night champion😁
🆗
anything not a car/truck that has been created is mostly an unintended side effect of the simulations
iirc anything smaller than like a large go kart or golf kart needs special coding and jbeam tricks
motorcycles and even quads as well as small go karts really require a rider for balance
