guys i am tryin to change the sound on a c35 mod so i does sound like if it is hitting redline and sound like if it is limiting till it actually limits to 8k

im not sure but, you can try and find the blend.sfx.json of the engine blends and see if in there its using a "redline" sample, remove that one and it will extend the last actual engine noise sound to higher rpms

How do I change the sounds of a mod? Its currently just the default 4cyl
you need to define a soundConfig and soundConfigExhaust in the engine jbeam, and each of the two sound config sections should refer to a named sample (look at vanilla engines for how it's done and which samples they use)

Yes they almost all use electrics data whatever your using ie lua just say var = electrics.value.nameofelectric and in the velua console type dump(electrics) to see available values

Have you tried just verifying game files? Will download only the missing/broken textures

if that hasn't worked, then its possible you have another mod conflicting with the textures
run the game in safe mode and see if that fixes it
if it does, then its likely either a mod or cache issue
clear cache and try again, if it still doesn't work, then you'll want to disable all mods, then introduce them in small batches until the problem returns

even so, I would have to track them down, test them out, pick something I like, figure out where to get the details from (screenshot, author, description, etc). and if they arent on the repo, then i could be pulling them from places like modland or some other obscure place without consistent metadata. Theres actually a lot of reasons why using the official repo is a good idea. but the main reason is that its the easiest for me. and the least amount of work

is there trickery or cheating going on with some artificial forces being applied to the plane / helicopter
oder do they actually fly because of how their wings are shaped / how the rotor is moving
Its not the shape of the wings/rotor. the wings are made out of triangles (flat surfaces) which create drag when at an angle towards the headwind and this drag will lift the vehicle at high speeds
so its a bit of both
but the forward force is not generated by the propeller actually spinning then?

the propeller are likely triangles spinning really fast and therefore creating forward momentum

Send it to chatgpt or Gemini. Literally copy paste all the nodes in the jbeam and ask it to scale the values down to 0.5. then do a crtl A scale on blender for the dae. Then report back if it worked 😂

When I add a node offset or move either nothing happens to the position or the hubs just break and the wheels disconnect.
Anyone able to help me understand why or what I need to do different so the wheels rotation center point is aligned with the wheels center?

I found FLT_MAX
FLT_MAX should really only be used for "strength", which is not how stiff/strong something is, it's only about at what point it'd break
using it in places other than deform and strength would be incredibly unstable, if possible at all.
and deform isn't about how easily it'll change shape, it's about how much deform can happen before it wont go back to its default shape
so then what do I look for so I can turn shipping containers into pancakes
try increasing spring and damp values for the beams that are too weak. Though that will make it unstable. To increase its stability, balance the spring and damp appropriately, and the surrounding beams too
If all else fails, there's a cheat to make things more stable... make the nodeWeight bigger. But then you get into "realism" and balance issues
the "beamSpring" and "beamDamp" values together. They'll be on normal beams, and on hydros
good luck. I've told you what you need to know, and the rest comes down to how much you can deal with the stress of learning lol. I don't have enough spare time to hand hold people, but I don't mind setting them in the right direction

You're trying to squish containers with the log grapple ?? Gotta strengthen all of the log grapple components together. If you just do the hydros the pivot point will break or something along those lines. Just keep doubling all the spring values, testing, repeat until you get instability. Then slowmo to 1000x and you'll see the beam that's unstable jiggling before it breaks the game. Regardless. It's a hydraulic driven hydro. So the hydraulic pump is the weakest link. If you try to bump the max force of the pump by fiddling with its values you'll probably break the whole vehicle. But give it a try nonetheless

can someone please help me find a way to cause the Impact engine damage to be on when spawned in? Im making a crappy engine mod and would like it to sputter/stutter on throttle to simulate bad plugs or equivalent.
Ive been trying to modify the engine cube jbeam on making it deformed on spawn however that just breaks the oilpan too.

after looking in this I dont quite see what im looking for. I would like to have the engine behave like this (the on throttle hesitation/ misfiring)
in this video i physically whacked it to trigger the impact damage, however i would like it to spawn in with the impact damage already triggered, without having to manually whack the engine to get the behaviour i want.

Hello everyone, I am having trouble with KLJP specifically the BX. What happens is all BX configs I spawn have the notif: "Error loading vehicle: 'bx'."
I’m sure it was KLJP, because when I was going through my mods and turning them on one by one to find the cause of the error, it only appeared when I enabled KLJP.
Is there a way for me to fix this currently? I have BX configs and mods that I use often that heavily rely on KLJP. I have tried verifying my files, re-installing both the mods and the game itself. Any help will be appreciated!

And @unreal chasm the new rock pile jbeam has almost exactly what you're looking for. You still won't get away from getting instability at X amount of balls. What's gonna help here is setting node friction and triangle drag to really high values as these decrease the numbers that become unstable. That plus slowmo are the only cures
my mod is just ball from the petanque game, I just think it's fun to play with them with the WL-40 and tbh with my base settings all work fine, it's just fps issue cause of the number of props but thanks for your info !

I just made one, Rancho Probaja, it is a photogrametry replica; but prior to doing my first mod I had been working 10 years as game developer.

I have modified my Info_CARname.json to include the values the Career Mode update added to the vanilla cars' Info_CARname.json files. I still have not been able to see or spawn my car in the new (currently v0.38.3) update for Career Mode - or any mod that is not directly based on the vanilla cars.
How does the new dealership and marketplace vehicle shop LUA's work? I cannot seem to find where it says to increase vehicle count or add mods to the vehicle shop lists for the various dealerships. This is very frustrating because Dev's didn't post a FAQ for Modders (at least to my knowledge) to fix or update their mods so they will show up in the various dealerships.
I would love an explanation or a How-To so I can get my mod to show up in the lists like it did in v0.37; preferably from the Dev or Devs that worked on the Career Mode overhaul so I can get my mod working.

Open material editor. Look for the broken material. Then look at the old filepaths. You'll find all the NEW same name slightly different filepaths in the art or assets folder instead of the levels folder. Gotta explore and find them

Youll have to copy the body or frame jbeam, and copy the rollbar jbeam files. Then just go rename both the jbeams, so they dont overwrite other jbeams.
Then add a slot for the rollbar in the body jbeam file, and then change the rollbar slot to match, and you should be done
