I’m using a bunch of different parts (engine from the Limo, headers from the bastion) and trying to make it work in a Barstow. Can anybody fix this issue? If so I’ll drop you the file! its not a break style overwrite. its creating a modded jbeam that loads first ive done it before all the time.. im saying it only wont work at the present. despite me using the EXACT same method
Just dont damn. Just make a new jbeam. The game isnt made to overwrite shit. It may have worked doesnt mean it should and you shouldn't do it. Doesn't matter if you have done it before you were doing it wrong then too.

I genuinely think that you should be able to put you paid mods on the repository and let people buy them from there as then its easier for people who dont trust sites like patreon for there mods
generally the best place for paid mods is the forums
yh but yk its easier in my opinion on the repository as then they (if im not mistaken) check if it has any virueses if not it goes through and yh then it could be lowered the chances of getting a virus
if anyone posted a paid mod on the forums with a virus in it, they would receive so much backlash for it
yh but they always stop using the internet well posting anything on it anyways or even talking to anyone learn a new typing pattern and come back on a new account
either way, the reason there isnt one is so the developers are neutral on paid mods
a decent minority are good and worth it but the vast majority are cashgrabs
and because people ruined the idea

i think in my opinion if its ground breaking they should have to atleast have a much lower version but working part of there mod eg the drag parts mod i find it a scam you have to pay for a parachute yeah fair enough it took alot of work but i figures a semi simple way but ik its harder as beam has aerodynamics i think you just put a shaped plane into a a lil box with tethers and there you have a parachute or drag chute

Hello everyone, I am new to the Beam community and have a few questions about making maps. Can you use the Heightmap made in Unity to make a map in Beam?

It's a folder called art inside the mod art then sound any modded sounds will be there. To adjust the sound in ibeam find the engine/motor jbeam and look for soundconfig sections and adjust the values

Ok then the sounds are stock. Try finding the engine/motor jbeam and find the sound config section inside it. Jbeams can be open3nd with any trxt editor

Hello everyone, I am wanting to build a map, I have a RAW Heightmap that I want to use, Is there a video or instructions on how to do this, I have been in the world editor for a while trying to figure it out, Went to Terrain tools, then import terrain, then I picked the Heightmap image I have but nothing happens when I import.

I am very new to Beam, I used Unity to build the terrain heightmap, pretty sure it was set to 16bit. then I opened Beam and hit F11 to bring up the world editor, I didnt see a Terrain in there yet. I tried to add the Heightmap through the Terrain tools in the world editor but didnt see anything happen
I exported the map from unity as a RAW file,
The 2nd time I tried I opened the small grid map and tried it there, still nothing.

You can edit the position by opening the .dae file in Blender, and moving the object/part in there. But this way, the flexbody coordinates in the jbeam should be 0, 0, 0

well what im trying to do is add the whelen liberty sx8 from maxie's crown vic mod but im having a hard time properly positioning the lightbar onto the roof of the bolide properly
Then you have to import both the bolide .dae file and the whelen liberty sx8 .dae file, and use the bolide as a reference when moving/positioning the other part
after an hour ive managed to do it

Hi! I've decided to try this channel too since I've not received any replies in #modding-vehicles
Basically, I downloaded schumacher's AE86 mod from the forums + the latest hotfix (#18). The mod and hotfix work fine however I wanted to make my own livery for the mod, nothing special just something for another community of I'm in.
I modified the materials.json and "trueno".jbeam files accordingly, that's where all the other pre-included liveries were anyway. I copied the needed livery.png's into the mod's folder. Since it's similar to the Initial D livery (it just says something different on the side), I just copied the code in materials.json from the "Tofu Delivery" livery and changed its name, paths (to the pngs) and also the persistentID since it has to be unique for each livery.
After zipping the file back up (with 7zip as to not ruin the pathing), I pasted my modified hotfix into my mods folder, cleared my cache and ran the game. It came up with some kind of error but the mod worked fine. The livery loaded in etc. However, once I quit the game and rebooted it back up the entire mod just stopped working. I don't know what I did wrong and I'm need of serious help since I'm stuck and don't know what to do, I've tried everything and one thing I've noted is that every time I rezip the files for my modification, change their name and put them in the mod folder, they work for the first time and then again stop working afterwards.
Help would be greatly appreciated since I've been stuck on this for almost 8 hours 😭

well, no, but its basically just one livery (the Initial D one) except it just says something different on the side
it works in VERY specific scenarios (when I boot up the mod for the first time after putting it in the folder and then after ALT+F4ing the game it just doesnt work at all - a.k.a the entire mod just breaks)

you dont need to overwrite the mod to add a livery
you just make a different mod that only has the code for that livery

With the ibishu condensa does the steering wheel airbag work? I looked at it throught the version history and i saw one that said steering wheel airbag
all modern beamng cars have airbags in the steering wheel, they are just non funcitonal
The only functional airbag i know of is the ford Taurus mod. But that isn't very good

Hey guys can anyone help me out so I'm creatin' a map which I used Google map and imported to blender so I can get a height map for it and I have done everythin' usin' gimp to create different textures but now the issue is that when I select my layers on the terrain paint and then on the import, import my height map along with my created material and assign them each correctly as the layers on terrain paint and when I click import e.g. my asphalt will replace maybe like my grass layer as asphalt and then I see 2 asphalts on my layer, how can I fix this, please anyone who has faced such please help me with this issue.

wheels deform weirdly when crashing and the underbody has huge holes because it's a poor job of mixing the barstow's underbody and the 300sl mesh

they are fine when i load them normally but loading the map on a safe mode launch doesnt save the terrain changes

To fix, Ctrl+x the folder in Levels into mods>yourmap>levels>PASTEHERE

Is that even scratched ? The underbody looks like it’s been stretched and squished to fit, especially the area where the fueltank normally would be. Horrible. That main underbody mesh can be modeled in 1 hour

'71 dodge charger, autobello aria, hirochi mistral, hirochi ccf, etk 900, blackpool superlite, procyon centauri
all of those use (to my knowledge) models that were scratch-made for beam
though if you look on the forums there are plenty of other real car mods of serviceable quality, that look and drive well enough, but may not run the best depending on your pc
the charger uses a scanned 3d model from what I've heard
