in my opinion, there are good paid mods that have these crtieria
- not a real brand
- custom or edited far enough jbeam that its hard to distinct from the original
- the most important one, posted in #1102973298222051358 and usually the forums too
- is a reputable modder, such as lucas or lj
- is a one time payment, no more than £/$/€ 5
- custom made model
alteast the w203 has working mirrors

the outside is ok, but besides that its really just good for photos because you dont see the issues it has
if youre taking photos, paying for a mod to just take photos is still a rip off
i wouldnt even pirate these mods if i wanted them let alone buying them
and even then the 3d model isn't made by them

or there are people who pirate paid mods and sell them themselves

For working on mods you can also have an unpacked version in /mods/unpacked/, but the version that you share should always be the packed (zipped) version

Me again. I’ve been trying the advice I was given to get 8 lug heavy duty hubs on the md series school bus so I can wheel swap it.
I’ve tried the spindles (there are non to swap for the rear axle on the md series school buses far as I know)
I’ve tried entering in the hubs name and adding it as a slot type (it spawns them in but the brakes and spacer are not aligned and the nodes are not attached even tho I renames them)
I’ve tried swapping the suspension (can’t figure out getting the nodes to attach to the frame correctly)
Tried editing meos converter to get it on 10 lug stuff (it would spawn but not attach)
And I’m at point that my knowledge is limited and I can’t get this figured out. I am just wanting to use these wheels I have they are semi wheels for the d series but on the bus to make a TikTok and I can’t get it lol.
Anyone have this down already or know what I should do? Any help is appreciated!

vanilla race brakes use an expression referring to both a universal brake strength variable and a brake bias variable
replace that expression with one that refers to a single per-axle brake strength variable

so i am at a bit of a stopping point of where I am stuck making a mod.
I have custom positions the wheels and tires and all that. But the nodes are still holding the vehicle up.
What am I missing in the j beam to make these even with where the wheels are at
any help is appreciated. I cant seem to get the nodes to go up with the hubs

also adjust the spawn position of the wheel in the suspension slots
So I moved it back down. when I did that it was rotating the wheel around the center point of the nodes.
@drowsy leaf are you saying adjust the spawn point in the suspension jbeam? I was always under the assumption it had to be under the hubs position
since they are what the wheel attaches to not the actual axle itself
depends on the jbeam because some suspension dont have a hub part because they are only 5 or 4 lug

just search where the wheel slot is and adjust the height of that

figured it out. I had to copy down the node offset to the wheel hubs in the suspension jbeam since it was not there

but adding content and coming up with new systems takes more time
Most of the time I just wait until a month and then re-download it because it sucks to clear your catch again and again

I changed the choke system to remove the ignition cuts when cold revving - with choke usage this doesn't happen. It now cold starts rich (plenty of choke) and slowly eases to 14.7

The hard thing is the nonlinear scaling of the samples with RPM
now uh. what did you do to the cold behavior and choke system

I made it work much more like the system does in My Summer Car
Idle RPM goes up (because choke) and your afr is a little rich
and as the car warms up the choke goes in, AFR goes toward 14.7
As the car overheats the AFR goes richer (just like it does in-game)
i always hated how the engine stutters but thats realistic ( when cold )
the stupid ignition cuts isn't realistic if you're using the choke
That would only happen if you're just straight up not using the choke at all
I also redid some radiator numbers so it now overheats easier
The block material was actually set incorrectly in the original mod, it's iron (the mod assumed alu)
I wanna make the starter sound work correctly, gonna see how other mods do it

No, it's autochoke
but it's a much more faithful choke system
Anyways my current implementation of 99% of these features is really messy, I'm going to get fresh files from the mod and cleanly port over my changes

just use the transmission sound from the game as the gearbox input whine sample, pitched at 0.00024

Yo, I don’t have the setup to port maps myself (I’m literally on a temporary basic laptop for now), but from what I know only the full Paul Ricard ports exist for BeamNG. Haven’t seen the Driving Center standalone yet. Best bet would be an AC → BeamNG port if someone here is down to do it. If you’ve got the refs/track files, maybe someone else can take a crack at it.

3D models → Blender (export as .DAE).
Physics/damage → JBeam files (that’s BeamNG’s car skeleton).

How do I mod twin turbos?
Easiest way: grab a mod with twin-turbo parts and swap it in via Ctrl+W → Engine → Turbocharger.
DIY way: edit the car’s JBeam, duplicate the turbo section, add a 2nd turbo in powertrain. Reload (Ctrl+R) = twin turbo.

instead of a pure number in this case it must be "$=105*$multiplier" (always needs the $= in front and before any variable. also make sure the variable is unique in name across the entire car)

The script based that i'm using is from a Bastion DSE jbeam, which can be found on "Caged" mode. I'm trying to implement this system to a ETK800 or any turbocharged vehicles (as the Bastion use a supercharger) but it seems like it won't work for me
if you're using turbos, use the script from the vivace instead to decrease the wastegate threshold (it normally increases boost in arsenic mode, or so i've heard)

So, i wanted to know if anybody knows how to "fix" this, a time ago i removed and edited some flutter noises from a car in a video and managed to get it into a automation car, and that's how it sound, it does sounds good but, it kinda feels like the noise isn't coming from the car looks like the point where the noise is generated shifted its position away from the car, its sound off, and then if you keep spamming the gas it just gets worse, the sound progressively gets lower and lower, and another problem is that the sound repeats itself after a while with the car just standing without pressing the gas, so i wanted to know if there's a special code to make turbo noises sound right or any stuff like that, maybe the car was broken too ngl this is a pretty old export so its possible

hey does anyone in here have experience with FMOD or any engine audio modding for BNG? i have over 5 years experience with sound design/production and multiple connections to the car community. I'm going to start a mod project for a redesign of the hellcat engine/exhaust audio for top realism. I am talking with a friend of mine who owns 6 different hellcats for drag racing and has agreed to let me do a full professional recording session for his hellcat. we are even doing this at a local race track/performance strip to record the vehicle in full action. i just need help/tips/advice on how to code the audio in FMOD because for all i know thats what's used for engine sound modding. any help would be greatly appreciated

unless i missed a huge change recently, we dont have access to the fmod side at all. pretty sure we just have sound blends which are significantly more limited in what you can achieve.
i think the wiki covers some of this a little, maybe dig around there first
huh, idk i opened the art/sounds/fmod folder and saw a bunch of the files for it. the hellcat car i got from the mod website doesnt have any fmod folder but all the sounds and blends.
so if those 2 dont work, what would yall recommend?
can you crate the blends when designing a car engine in FMOD? like i open up a new project and create from scratch?
the important part is grabbing both on load and off load audio, you should be pretty set considering you have access to the real car. blends will be what you are after, we just dont have access to the full audio system in the way the devs do
i have access to the individual mp3 sound bits of the original hellcat game audio, if i just replaced those with my own recordings and made sure it was spliced and timed right would that be good enough?
sorry if any of these questions are silly/dumb, im good with creating/editing the sound, just not for games. but i want to learn
that would probably at least improve it, depending on how bad the "original" audio actually is. you really should just poke around in the blend it came with and have a play. some of it will become pretty clear. i think we might have another debug tool for audio that lets us mix it a little, but i havent touched engine blends in forever lmao
i may see if i can get in contact with one of the developers and ask them questions about sound modding, think they'd be willing to tell me?
its bad lol. granted the hellcat i have in game is a mod and not from beamng themselves its still bad. the supercharger whine is horrible
tdk would probably be the guy to ask, but generally the devs dont go much on being pinged. you could probably glean a lot from just looking through the convos he has had in here
ill ask politely, i respect server rules and anything they have so i dont want to come off in any way. but i genuinely do believe what im working on could change the game for hellcat engine audio
the bar is pretty low for that haha. engine audio is probably one of the things people fail hardest on. there are a handful of modders with a really good grasp of the systems involved, redknee and hellraiser are defo up there with some of their stuff
how would i move an entire engine without changing the position for each node in the jbeam file?
ideally something like a {pos: x y z}
you can specify nodeOffset in the slot
but chances are it'd just be easier to move the engine jbeam and flexbodies, since modifying the slot means a whole separate jbeam for the body
yes, i do want to avoid making a new body
i guess theres no other way around moving nodes
