With blender and a plugin that crrates the jbeam file, is actually pretty easy, plus, i sm a pro blender modeller
that blender plugin is barely any good
and often doesn't export correctly
You still need to manually adjust the nodes
yeah i know the plugin, it doesnt do the entire work for you
you have to manually add the nodes, beams triangles + then code their strenght and allathat
it doesnt magically create a jbeam for you. it just allows you to edit one in 3d, instead of text

Hi there. I'm really amazed by the hell raiser sounding mods but it adds separate engines that are not available for every car. Moreover, I have to re-tune the car after the engine swap, and sometimes it's wrong and brake transmission or something else. Isn't there a way to just apply these sounds on any engine to simplify the thing?

Once you have some basic modding knowledge, I'd argue adding dynamic mirror support is relatively easy

Haven't seen it before, not sure why a mod would have that. Though it wouldn't be anything to worry about, xml is just used to store data (much like json/jbeam), not to run any sketchy code or anything

Sure, you'd need some basic modding skills and to learn your way around a .jbeam, but once you do, mirror support is as easy as giving the mirror model the right material, and adding a small section to the .jbeam
I used to make power mods for jbeams and modifying the strength and the torque curve but never into texturing
Can't think of any others that I'd consider dangerous.
Main file types in a mod would be .jbeam/.json/.dae/.png/.jpg/.dds/.pc/ plus some other miscellaneous ones (feel free to ping me if you want to know about any of those)

As for the mirror material, it doesn't have anything to do with texturing. It's as simple as renaming the mirrors material in blender
(I'd have to check what the exact names are, but you can just look at any vanilla car's mirrors for that)

Not recommended. Lots of low quality and/or stolen mods, and potentially even virusses. The only official places to get mods from are the in-game repository, the website version of that same repository (https://www.beamng.com/resources/) and the forums (https://www.beamng.com/categories/mods.23/)
Paid mods use 3rd party sites for the payment, like Ko-Fi, Gumroad, Patreon. Just make sure the mod has a forum page too, like this one for example https://www.beamng.com/threads/gavril-scout-18-24-paid.88644/
And lastly, the search function of the forums is... not great. If you're looking for something specific, try googling site:beamng.com and then whatever you are looking for behind it

Yes, I can Spawn (Police) and crash into them to start a chase, but then half of all AI traffic is police, and all of them are either beetles or SWAT... trucks.

yall is there an easy way to use custom mods on a beamng server and manage dowloads
- for those who are experienced, anyone know where i can find the AMD FSR files are located in the beamNG folder(...??) to manually update them to 3.1.2 thats just a side upgrade outside the drivers? the new fsr 3.1(update 2) helps more with anti aliasing or something and heard it would help vr performance and really want to see if it will.

i beg to differ with some, havent found a sn95 mustang mod with proper suspension geometry from the forums but did else where, non mesh slap car and drove/drifted like the real deal when setup a bit- this is with a DD wheel setup aswell and the ffb was clean from lock to lock along with proper suspension travel it felt perfect. for those who are curious its the (99_04stang) mod

yeah the only current sn95 on the forums is a 200bx modified thing and uses bx suspension

3d model was accurate other than some textures was all. it could be higher quality but it's perfect without high res textures for vr gameplay since even running a 7900xtx/4090 with a decent cpu still struggles since vulkan is experimental.
iirc the SN95 is straight axle which the BX very much is not
sn95 has straight 4 link axle in rear and then a irs unibody for the cobra+ trims

BX has very different suspension to a SN95
it doesnt feel like the 200bx in comparison if you drive one or the other, setups dont work the same either.
the vanilla 200bx has felt lazy since the driftgear front suspension update.
which the sn95 mod doesnt utilize, sure i dont know if its 200bx jbeam for sure but with a little setup it does drive very close to the real deal.

any one noticed faster loading times and less lag if you've loaded the game via DX into a map then closed down then loaded into vulkan? noticed my game doesnt hang like usual with new maps if i do this first- may be a VR only issue.
better instrument placement than assetto corsa for that car. the ui on the wheel(and gauge cluster) in ac on the new bmws is floating an inch back from the steering wheel. surprising to see- but i assume thats a large file car considering the textures.

i use the 99_04 STANG and dfa pack only basically since most mods drove with a lack of ffb/resistance on a direct drive. heard this was an issue of the steering components not properly being fully j-beamed or something.
dfa is just d series basically so that probably qualifies as a mesh slap since its just parts for it.
only mod pack i will say good things about though due to the optimization and attention to detail
think the real test to see if these bmw mods are any decent is if it doesnt plunge fps with a few traffic spawaned and vr enabled. single screen you can get away with a pretty mid gpu
