clicking subscribe just opens it in game and subscribes to it ingame

The suburbs will fill the empty areas, as I'm not gonna put every street on that map. It is only freeways, highways, and main roads in that layout map
You could put a shaded area over the suburbs?
I’d suggest a less square grid though? Maybe a tight ring round around it that breaks up the grid edge
Also bare in mind many American cities have the highways carve into the city due to some interesting history

Does anyone know what happens to a UI App that's loaded from an unpacked mod when a file in the mod's directory saved/modified?
The UI seems to do a partial refresh anytime I save the app I'm working on. My scope gets in a weird state and it disconnects my wss connection. Here's the relevant code: https://github.com/CodeCorrupt/ChatNG/blob/main/ui/modules/apps/ChatNG/app.js
It's an easy fix to refresh with f5, but it's just weird and I'm curious what's happening.

having issues withthe fixed up auriga light refresh, the wheels are very wobbly and it overheats very fast
It's just an old mod, even if it's been refreshed it's most likely just PBR materials and nothing else
the mod is fine, they added openable doors and all, its just the engine is overheating stupidly fast and the front wheels get all wobbly above 10 mph, it feels like they breaking off
How do I know if a configuration is using any mods? Would be handy to have a section of the parts tree that shows the author of the part 👍

most professional modders usually have around 6hrs iirc
For blender i have over 200 videos in a playlist
first off, learn blender (half a year minimum) and then export the car you wanna make the modded part for. model all the things u wanna model, and i cant really help with the import part watch a tutorial

My first mod was the k-series speedster (which I had to remake 4 times)
got an understanding of jbeam principles, moved onto something else, learned a bit of modelling

not what we are talking about, its pretty clear that the developers have left the enviroment aside for later in development, seeing we have no rain, the skyboxes could be easily improved (volumetric clouds) and the nightsky lighting/ car light lighting/ map lighting bein pretty lacking

the MfD server exists and is largely non-discriminatory
the thing with mfd is you need to be concise and patient
which a lot of new modders are not
that and its expected that you have at least some experience in blender
because we will help with concepts and techniques but we can’t teach you how to navigate and do basic stuff
thats what tutorials are for
mfd is best for people with a little prior knowledge and good self motivation

they use ripped model, are poorly made meshslaps, and the paid ones are objectively illegal to sell

i don’t recommend paid real cars, or real cars in general
most of them land in the same bucket as the first snd second reason
unless they are shown to not be otherwise
like LJ’s charger and eventual XT mods
both of these are scratch modeled, hand jbeamed and well crafted
most off RR and Kenemation mods are the exact opposite

Do I have to load track builder each time, and then load in my saved track? 🙂

The etk 1300 and s series were not massively broken due to the etk refresh being minor, and they just got some extra content, they haven't been really "fixed" and there's still a lot of design flaws that the original mod had
The Roth alpha is just being built from the ground up again by it's creator, it's not a fix

i think it'd be interesting to see custom door panels with actual speakers. they could each be made into an audio source, with some sort of external input, such as a file folder with mp3s. it's relatively easy to separate that into separate channels like an actual car radio would.
I feel like outside of some modern cars with 17-25 speakers in them, it could be an immersion-builder, and a new way for players to express themselves with their builds.

i was building one w/ correct deminsions but am having trouble converting the suspension/ frame from the d series to a smaller scale. I can get it to work but the jbeams become unstable i think due and i haven't figured out why.

On my modded map it runs at a stable 100 FPS for me (30 more FPS than WCUSA) however uses about 20% more GPU usage than WCUSA which is causing problems for some folks. Does anyone know why this might be?

if i make it so that my game barely runs at 60fps and i enter the WCUSA forest area my fps drops to 20
if you really need the improvement on gpu usage, you could ask Carkiller for guidance, since hes a pretty good mapper and knows his way around GFX and all stuff gpu

In this video i will be showing you how to give your Automation to BeamNG cars custom engine sounds. I use sounds from an Assetto Corsa mod, but you can use the methods taught to use sounds from anywhere that has a .BANK file or a .FSB file OR traditional audio files like .MP3 OR .WAV files.

not sure if mod suggestions are being looked at actively but smt that would be cool is little inconspicuous marker lights for the Gavril trucks and some other vehicles. my truck irl has a few LED beacons that i can switch on and off from the cab.
the tail lights, headlights, and a few hidden spots in the windows and bumper all have a synchronized light pattern

I am looking for/looking to make a mod for having an AI attempt to follow a prerecorded path (matching speed with original path). Looking for AI to do this with normal input controls only. The real challange will be getting the control system working. Anyone familiar with any existing mod that does this? A similar mod would also work, I am a developer so can work off an existing similar mod as a reference to make exactly what I need.

Yes, I agree, but instead of pinging 200 people (awake or not) it should choose like 2-10 people to ping that are online instead of all 200 users.
If only discord separated the community guide role from "members" in the member list on the right so people could choose people to ping that are online, eliminating both pings while people are asleep and the 200 pings at once.

all of those people want to help, which is why they've selected the role. if they don't, then they can just deselect it.
and if they do want to help, but just don't want to be pinged at certain times, i'd suggest some kind of dnd or mute or whatever. (personally i've just muted this server, so i only see pings when i open discord)

Also it's kind of hard to help someone when at least one or two people of the 200 people are complaining about the ping that they asked to have when they were getting the community guide role. (I mean people spamming the :ping: emoji or using that one gif with the fridge)
I don't mind getting pinged during the day but I don't think 200 people should be pinged to help one person. that is a bit overkill

Ive kept a good system with my friends when we do mock drags. in terms of performance figures, we use the powertrain loss debug to see what the closest most consistent number we see. so say the debug box is bouncing around 8xx hp we will say. the drags are no more than 8xx horsepower.
doesnt the torquecurve app account for powertrain losses
just trying to see if we can get a more efficient way of getting our numbers to where they are competitive, yet not trying to read a graph for our numbers.
hence why we chose the powertrain loss debug.

I like the general look but yeah the round hood and it being so much farther forward than it needs to be kinda nerfs it.
For a better look at just how big it is, download the bastion coupe mod then install that front end. You’ll see the proportion issues
it also just doesnt flow at all with the design of the bastion
since the bastion is much more rounded than the real life charger/challenger

I'd recommend some kind of .json error checker, there are many code-specific text editors that come with that built in.
Only difference between .json and .jbeam, is that jbeam doesn't care about commas and comments

Hello. Does anyone know of a way to pack to mod a track I made in track editor? Id like to turn this thing into a map but after 3 days my head is still spinning.
I have the track and can spawn it and in world editor it seems to save but on relaunch it only has a white square placeholder and never saves. theres this mod called generated backfire that brakes my game when i dont remove it from unpacked mod file and it keeps coming back, ive reinstalled the game and it still pops up plsss help
I somehow managed to loose the files and I can't for the life of me figure out how I did it.
I added a "handbrake release" to the center diff on several cars (let's go with pessima for now)
In the jbeam file for the transaxle, I added a rally transaxle which was copied from the vivian, then added a varible for the jhandbrake release like this:

Then I used that as a coefficient to add to the handbrake input something like

for one of the bits in the powertrain section

I can't remember what the variablename for the handbrake input was, or which section I added it in.
If you're not clear on what this is meant to do, when you pull the handbrake it should release the center diff by the set amount in %.
So if the handbrake release is set to 100% and you pull the handbrake 100%, it should completely free the diff, meaning it behaves like a front wheel drive car.
This is useful for rally driving so you can really swing the rear of the car around with full power going to the front wheels.

@drowsy leaf all knowing lichi, how do i go about having both sides of the mesh show. outside shows but inside doesn't. I remember it was something to do with backface culling
well your mesh needs to have both sides modled
or enable backface culling, but thats lazy and often looks bad and doesnt allow for proper texturing
i can just make a duplicate and reverse the normals right and texture those correctly right.
use the solify modifier
i've used it a few times, but it can cause issues w/ corners with more than 3 nodes, it'll start to spike. Which I can fix just takes a bit of time.
then one last question @drowsy leaf what controls where the headlights beams show up.

I think I'm missing a line of code in something because I have a few mods for police car additions, and when I use certain cars made by a specific developer, the AI will chase me instead of chasing the original person. It's a little hard to explain but basically when I use another police variant car, they will chase the main guy and not me, but when I use this certain developers car, they'll chase me if I break any sort of traffic laws.
