Theoretically if you needed a test driver for your mod, would it matter how good they are? Even if anyone barely knows them?

If they aren't known they have no reputation to lose if they leak whatever you do, I doubt that would be the actual case but yeah keep that in mind
You need to consider 2 things, trust and reliability
First one for not leaking it
Second for giving you good feedback instead of something like “good”

testers need to be able to give good feedback on technical aspects of a mod
modders need handling/function criticism so that the mod can be improved before release

Im so hyped, after like 8 years of owning beamng and never successfully making a “mod” I finally figured it out I think. Didn’t do anything crazy but made a stage 1 and 2 performance engine block, racing ecu, racing intake and side pipes for the d series inline 6

is there any way to increase the range of dynamic mirrors? If you get just a little bit away from the car the reflections will disappear
(I know its a modded car but this also happens on vanilla cars - left is panned slightly back, right is slightly forwards)
Repository and forums. Not sure if it is outdated but Meo's drag mod is pretty good. Offroad wise any of the Trackfab cars are great as well as the UltraBump and Scarab.
Drifting mods I see less of, usually because drift parts are already included with most cars (modded and vanilla). If you are looking for track Utah Extra has a few, Small Drift Island has a few and my maps always have at least 1 drift track (Xero Parklands, Lonestar Speedway, Arctic Circle)
I think there is an option in graphics settings but I am not 100% sure on that

I think this is for how far the mirror reflects, not how far you can see the reflection. I think the thought process behind this is that you rly only notice it in first person and like 3rd person when ur near the car. but if you get out then it doesnt need to spend the resources rendering the car and the reflection too. (did you step out of the car or zoom the camera out?)

Don't take my word for it but I heard some hacker group infected a BeamNG mod and apparently the virus somehow made its way to Disney and now Disney has forced the Beam devs to pause new submissions while they vet all the mods available on the official site

theres a lot of different sides to beamng modding
at the minimum, youll need a rich text editor like visual studio code or notepad++ with the syntax highlighter plugin

im using the lamborghini countach mod and for some reason every config has afterfire. Most of them don't have turbos and most dont have short exhausts. I tried switching exhausts but it still has afterfire and it just looks weird for a Countach to have afterfire. Is there any other reason it could be after firing?
I dunno, but irl cars backfire when the air/fuel mixture is off somehow, causing unburned fuel to make its way into the exhaust system
Maybe the modder has screwed up some calculation that makes Beam think it's supposed to crackle and pop endlessly

I don't think there are any mods that allow you to put Automation license plates on actual BeamNG cars. I'm not 100% certain of that, though.

there's an issue with the current sandboxed lua that allows for scripts to be run from inside the game that open powershell and can execute commands
this led to a major data leak from disney, since there was an employee who downloaded a mod from modland that had this malicious exploit inside of it

they're likely vetting mods and patching that issue

Most Automation vehicles don’t use BeamNG’s license plate mechanics. They usually come with a plate that’s literally part of the car itself and cannot be changed or customized. Some of them even come off the vehicle when damaged.

i think you dont even need it, you just get 2 separate driveshafts with same gearbox input and 2 different output

Its an exploit that needs to be fixed. It just so happened the mod that was infected may have come from modland, The problem with an exploit is that it was not detectable. I have a feeling they are going to really lock down mods with the next update.
It would be funny if the paid mod developer leaked his own mod and injected the exploit. A big FU to the leakers.

There is no easy peasy method of making beamng mods, it's highly involved and takes atleast a good years worth of practice to produce anything of quality.

yes. i wouldnt bother converting from tris to quads for this sort of thing though, small enough that you can manually fix any issues tris cause in some edge cases

you only need tris when exporting, which blender does automatically when you make a .dae export. (Tris are also useful for topology in certain areas, but buy-in-large quads are best.)

Try to first look at the name of the file, and if it isn't there, look at what it is a part of, like the struts are in the suspension jbeam file

It seems like it’ll take an average of ~1.0L of fuel burnt to bring water and oil temp up to working temperature, but in real life cars seems only needs 0.1~0.3L of fuel burnt to reach working temperature, and the engine could be kept worm by itself for hours.
If I want to mod cooling systems to have a more realistic behavior, which direction should I go? The cooling area and cooling efficiency didn’t matter below thermostat temp, so even with no radiator it still takes 1.0L fuel to warm up
@cerulean silo Actually it seems like the no cop version doesn’t have the insurance stuff in it but has the rolling chassis cars. But it also seems like most of the other mechanics are also missing like the tweaked dealership stuff.

@frigid palm I understand now. The rolling chassis is a separate mod that you could implement into a vanilla game. It’s called “roller chassis” or something like that. I believe it may be in the repo but for sure in the forums. At this time we do not have plans to separate out insurance adjustments. I would recommend hot lapping the race track to bring insurance cost downs down and make some cash as well.

I didn't make the mod with the Career Mode in mind, I think the prices would probably be inaccurate. (iirc they're worth very little or nothing at all, i cant quite remember)

i once "tried" to port the ccf2 to 0.14 as a joke, everything broke, the differentials broke the entire game, all of the textures would need to be redone since now theres a different texture system, none of the screens, assists, or any features the ccf has worked, i just outright removed them, the sounds didnt work, the tires didnt work.... and this is me having experience on how to mod and switching to 0.14 which as old as it is its from 2018, 0.3.3 literally shares nothing with 0.14 in terms of code for the vehicles, so you basicall would need to remake it from 0

Hi, i have a question ? I wanted to add a thruster to an ingame vehicle but it's not working, i added the "thrusters" field inside a .jbeam and set up all the electrics but in game, i can see the keybind, however even with the parking brake disengaged, it's not working. I did what i saw for the bus and for an other modded vehicle, however both of them have an accessory and instead, i put it directly inside the vehicle .jbeam ? In case someone need to know what vehicle i'm changing, it's the vanilla pickup and i modifed the pickup.jbeam file.
I solved the problem, it was something really annoying, i looked the nodes name by using "Ctrl + N", the only problem is that "1" and "l" depending on the Font look almost the same so i just wrote "bd71" instead of "bd7l", now it's working perfectly.
