open your mod folder in the mods manager then unpacked>pickup_addon_ar162b>vehicles>pickup>AR162b_jbeam>oldstyle_parts, then i think pickup_doors_F_oldstyle use notepad++ to edit the connecting node strength might be where it says //door hinge but im not sure
or where it says beamlong bound, create backup of the original door jbeam just incase

Escape > UI Apps (top bar) > + Add App (green button) > And select the app you want to add from the list
It will already automatically be in that list, there is nothing else you have to 'add' or do to get it in there

Because on an existing S13 in beam, it's got this pattern on the headlight casing, except in blender it's just a solid object. So I'm unsure how you'd design this properly

Details like that shouldn't be done via modelling, as the model would get way too detailed.
I'd recommend using textures, mainly a normalMap
They can be used to make 2D faces look 3D
(Left - 3D model, middle - Normal map, right - 2D face with normal map)

BeamNG uses a separate material system
The blender material is only used to link the BeamNG material to the blender object by giving them the same name
Where would the creator have created that effect?
The materials file can be found in the cars/mods folder, should be called something.materials.json, it will also show the path of the used textures

If kingp2, and kingp3 are unused you can just remove.
However on legacy vehicles, their kingpin node vertical offset is wrong. Need to lower it from 1.10 to 0.90 to allow seamless backing up and go and kingpin lock.

Well, it's a big corner and it's in the middle so nowhere near the straight. This road is going to be a main road so it is in better condition than other roads.
ah, might just be the fov then, it definitely looked like it was coming into/out of a somewhat straight section. if you have a look at the hume and barton highways you might see what i mean about the colour not matching the road condition, its a bit hard to communicate via text

yea, make all components of the map in third-party tools or copy them from vanilla levels (like buildings, some textures, vegetation etc.) and then build the map in world editor
try downloading it from the mods page on the website, i often have the same issue when downloading big mods
check terrymartinART on yt, he has a lot of videos on map modding, including how to fix textures, explaining some rules for map modding
if you mean for beam, then anything that's not forums page or repo is sketchy, apart from pages of some reputable modders on patreon, gumroad etc.

assets yes, as for terrain you can import a flat heightmap of needed size and adjust elevations manually if that suits your needs, but it's better to use third-party tools, like world machine, l3dt, blender etc., it's a much faster and flexible way and you can also make more realistic looking base textures than if you do elevations and texture painting in world editor

I won't be posting about my mod of darren9's helicopter mod since I know that's already excluded by the rulebook (at least until someone actually tells me how I can contact him in regards to permissions) but I make vanilla career mode related mods. I plan on making a mod that makes, milk/fuel trucks actually capable of delivering milk and motor juice and stuff.

but I'll be expanding it to cover a wider range of the map in the near future. Like, a lot of parking/delivery locations are being added (movie studio, forest house, service tunnel), refinery, radio station, fire station, houses in the suburbs etc.)
Since I'm new to BeamNG (I literally purchased the game a month and a half ago) I probably need help with getting names of places verified/adjusted over time. Because career mode is fairly new, I actually think I'm like the second person to actually make mods to the official career mode, so I figured this is actually worth releasing rather than just keeping it to myself

Yeah, over a period of a month or two i downloaded a couple of mods from there (don't remember what these mods were), they were fine, but after i downloaded the last one i've got a virus, had to reinstall windows and lost a lot of important documents

A bit more of a BeamMP question, but if an official map is saved with added vanilla barriers is it possible to save that file somewhere so that joining players will see the same thing on their end? So far the suggestions I’ve seen online are to resave the entire map which is a lot of wasted data being transferred.
that is afaik the only way since if youre hosting a server you cant use custom levels in that sense

Has anyone ever dreamed of having or thought of making a very long (like over 100km/60 mile) highway/freeway/motorway map in high-quality full-PBR materials? Well, I have been thinking of doing that myself! I only have to make a mesh (one that looks good, but is fairly low-poly to make the mesh smaller) in Blender and add the materials there! 🙂

I'll do a quick sketch of what the design will be. I'll have it ready in 10 minutes.
I'll be doing it in 1000 160m units because 160mx1000=160000m=160km/100 miles
Here's a very rough prototype sketch of what it will look like
nice, have you planed on the shape of it, like will it be straight or have curves, maybe a loop so you can continue doing laps?
It will be a loop with some hills for realism. The corners will be huge with a 2+ km radius so you can do full speed around the whole map.

the ["kingp1", node is XYZ, ((X)) 0.00000, ((Y)) 1.86000, ((Z)) 1.03000, and for z axis the 1.03000 is to high on pre 0.31 trailers, sits up on the plate itself rather than at the couple Need to lower the node so it can slide into the v2 fifthwheel, setting it to 0.90 instead of 1.03000 allows smooth operation
best way i can explain it with little knowledge other than edits
the axis is different because the two trailer bases are different as well in height
if you're using other trailer mods, you can edit the node axis' in real time without it glitching out
then just press L to see the coupler or ctrl+N for the node specifically
how to add refuel area?
meshslapping is easy, meanwhile making a whole car from scratch is harder than a heart surgery
i applaud people who can make a whole model and make an extremely accurate jbeams

You'd be better off asking in #modding-general, but a good first idea would be to check the console and see if there's any errors with your JBeam file

I'm wondering if anyone here would be able to fix, or help me fix a mod I have, it's a mod for a MK1 Audi TT, and the mod itself is pretty good quality, but for some reason the paint is matte no matter what configuration I use, so something with the textures is wrong. In the photos for the mod, all of the cars are glossy and have nice paint.

Update of the VGT(s), I added some more paint schemes to my saves and improved the suspension. before, the tires used to blow up after being under pressure for too long, solved by stiffening the suspension so the wheels are not the only thing supporting the car.
any way to increase dealer size aswell as garage size?

i actually looked up the efficiency values of the electric motors, the ones we have in beamng are actually kinda unrealistically high 95.5% is roughly the upper edge of modern electric motor efficiency, but the eSBR and vivace have 96% efficiency)
they probably made them that way thoguh because the high power motors general a shitload of heat
the heat problem might just be because the engines thermodynamics arent modelled well

do note that some vehicles have automatic brakes. Like the T series trucks, they have air pressure based brake release mechanism (they're designed to fail closed) and the engine has to be running with enough air pressure to release the brakes
